Very different countries I visited there. The languages are far related I could not understand anything. There is no racial relationship. Hungerians look different and characters are different. For their advance.
I hope finns would be more like them.
The relationship of languages is more apparent in grammar. Finnish and Hungarian are from different branches, you need to go all the way to Proto-Uralic, supposed common language of the Uralic language family, to find when they sopke common language. Finnish has about 400 words that come from Proto-Uralic language, and is a "freezer" of archaic words, for being a conservative language and very few mass migrations to the land. I suppose, looking where Hungarians live, they have even less Proto-Uralic originating words, but there are some common to both. So of course we can't understand each others.

Im from New Zealand and i love Finnish music.
Me too though I've only just these past couple of nights, have discovered the wonder of Finnish music. It hits me hard in enough to take my breath away. I love it. Warmth & pride from the Maori when performing or simply singing in their garage - to the joy and wonder of the Finnish people way over there on the other side of the world.... they meet in ny heart, they meet in the air we breathe, the are the full compliment of each other. Love love love.
My dream is to travel to Finland for two-three weeks to meet your country closer. You have weird, but beautifull language ( but I think, I could learn basics. I'm sure that doesn't exist more illogical language in world than my native (Polish).
What I saw in the Internet (rather on touristic blogs/vlogs) were wonderfull landscapes which cover very large area of Finland. And your ancestors have invited sauna :-) I have also respect to your music scene. With country inhabited by only 5.5 millions of people you have so many fantastic metal bands (Nightwish, HIM, Ensiferum... etc.). I don't know any good metal band in Poland (inhabited by 37 millions).
Supposedly (or rather surely) your law must be more logic than our Polish :-P I have no words to describe ours... When I heard about "Jokamiehenoikeus" I laughed, when I had imagined how it could work in Poland. It wouldn't work.

Finnish is actually a very logical language. It's complicated, but not illogical. A Finnish teacher will almost always be able to explain the reason behind something, whereas English has lots of exceptions and they can't give a reason for them.

And I've one question. Is any difference between ä and a ? I haven't noticed any, but I have read somwhere, that ä is pronouncing like ae.

Once again this proves that the language of great music is universal and even if we do not speak Finnish we can listen to this and truly enjoy it, the whole album rocks big time and has been played in our home so much, once people listen to it they forget that it is sung in another language , they are just so blown away by this magic :) Well done Raskasta Joulua :)

This is one of the greatest songs in You Tube ever. So powerful and sensitive and full of emotion. And look at these rough-looking guys, how happy they are after their performance - such a successful way to welcome Christmas. And they know they did it in the best possible way. Surely they believe in the message of Christmas. I wish someone would translate the song for example in English. These musicians - all Finnish as well as the songwriter - surely can make it a world-wide hit. I recommend anyone to use keywords Raskasta Joulua and Jouluksi Kotiin to find more enjoyable music. Remember: some recordings were not made by professionals.
Im 6 years late, but there is an English version of the first Raskasta Joulua album called Raknarok Juletide, that includes this song.

People with blue eyes all have a same distant ancestor and that's why it's quite localized.. Almost 90% of people in Finland have blue eyes but on global level they're a small minority.. Blue eyes are also more sensitive to certain types of light so it's probably not a coincidence that many of them live here where sunlight is somewhat scarce :)

+Sari Hoo oh, I would have enjoyed even without Marco :) I'd also give up one of my 'nads to be able to sing as well as anyone in that vid lol. In a couple of days it's Thanksgiving here in the US...and I'm thankful for, among other things, that Finland produces such awesome musicians! I literally don't go a day without listening to either Nightwish, Ensiferum, or Wintersun, so there would be a big hole in my life without them.
