Beautiful, beautiful Interlaken - the base for so many adventurous trips into the Bernese Oberland. It's funny that when people talk of 'laid back' destinations probably few think of Switzerland - yet to me, a country so picturesque, peaceful and where everything 'works' in a quiet unassuming way is actually the epitome of 'laid back.
I like this tours so much more than the drone and flying over series. While those are beautiful too, I need to turn into a bird to do that, but here I feel like I'm literally walking and not missing anything. I'm seeing more here than when I was actually walking thru Interlaken years ago. Thank you
The principle at a dairy college I went to just North of Bern, took me on a day off to his lodge house right next to lake Thun. Whilst he was working, he loaned me a rowing boat. I rowed over the lake for several hours, absolutely magical place. I shall never forget his generosity.

Hello! The weather in May is quite good but can be unpredictable with sudden thunderstorms. I suppose most people would be happy spending 3 or 4 days in Bernese Oberland but if you want to visit many villages or you love hiking perhaps you are going to need more days to fully enjoy the place.
In general, May is a very good month to visit Switzerland. The nature is gorgeous, everything is so bright green and the flowers are in full bloom. The weather, however, can be quite unpredictable. There can be very cold days and very warm, sunny days, so I suggest you pack clothes for mixed weather conditions. All the best!

Looks so built up since i stayed at the Victoria-Jungfrau in 1983.Two guys were fishing in a river near downtown,and not thinking,i said,"what are you guys fishing for,Trout"?They couldn't understand English and i had no idea what they said back..:)
That's it...:) The little bridge at 8:00 where the guys were fishing.Back then though the walkway over the bridge wasn't solid,you could see the river below.cool..:)

In fact this well-shot video can be fully appreciated only on a regular TV Screen, rather than a Computer Monitor.
