I love the baler we always tied square knots but 25 years ago when we moved to round balers we had knot problems once in a while so we tied this knot instead and it has never failed me lol thanks for watching
Good day My younger boy watch repair man on little sq. baler. Left over right & under then take each end stick together & pull knot tight. How is everything to both of you guys. Have not heard from either. Thanks
@@donvoll2580 All good. I have made lot's of video's just haven't posted any no real reason. Been real busy and time flies so fast. At hay right now but it is going to go right into wheat harvest. 3 weeks of rainy weather. Hope all well. Thanks for chatting.
the right knot for the application makes all the difference in correct functionality. I am amazed with your high temps. to be as far north as you are I'd never thought you'd be dealing with 100° F plus temps. thanks for the video. :)
These high temps are higher than normal but we've had years like this before, the one thing that works for us is it will get 55F tonight so we do get a break at night.
This is a great tip, and simple and easy to do!! Can see a distinct benefit to tying this way!!! Always just tie a square not, but I do like this better!!! And you don't have to trim off the ends, which really make it better!!
sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the login password. I would love any help you can give me.
@Enoch Benicio i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Oil chains when there hot = when your done baling or anywhere in between as needed. I use hydraulic oil, stays the best and does a good job. Run the baler at lowest idle using a pump oil can.
Good video that's for making it. I never can get mine to pull through it always misses a knot. It goes through the tentioner but not the knotter. Prolly half me and half my old knotters lol. U must be colder blooded than me if it's 100 round here I sure don't have long sleeves on lol
I don't wear anything but long sleeves years ago I would wear T shirts but my arms would always get cut up working on stuff and I worked for 20 years off the farm where I had to wear long sleeve coveralls everyday no matter what the temp was so I'm just used to it. Those old knotters can be tricky We had a baler that you knew when a bale broke that the twine ball switched lol
G day Boy 100F i would be died. I have severe asthma, here in Ont, we had 90 plus, I think the great lakes keep us in line, Didn't Alberta have some forest fire to. Interesting knot & with loop it can't come apart. Thanks
BC has huge fires and are air quality is very poor some days. We are not as humid as you guys by the lakes are. I have an Aunt that lives at Guelph and last time she was out we were all running to the basement and she said this is nothing and worked in the garden.lol
My uncle is a professor at the University . My great Grandpa moved to the mountains because of his asthma that cool mountain air agreed with him, but he had to be careful when it was really cold so he didn't lose his air so I've been told he has been gone longer than I've been alive .
We had problems with our older balers but it isn't a problem anymore especially with this knot , but it doesn't have to feed into a knotter. I know the big square guys like OLF are pretty fussy about tying a good knot with the tails trimmed.
Nice im one of them net wrap gooooo Rue's LOL been a while since i have seen twine boxes on my baler first thing i took off when it got home. There home is out infront of the shop to go back with it when i trade it off!!
If we ground all our hay like you guys I'd pay the extra $9000 for net wrap on the baler but we fight that shit when it is all frozen on. My friend does nothing but net wrap but every bale goes through his hay buster. The friend I bale the hay for will only let me use twine because he has fought with it to. My cousin sells for JD and when he orders the balers they don't even have twine boxes wrap only. Thanks for watching Ted
THANK YOU for making this video, I have a jd 336 square baler this knot should work just as well on a square baler, have you ever used it with a square baler? i'm going to retie mine before I head out! thanks again.
I will give it a try and let you know how it works, probably going to be mid july for first cut here, the snow just left this week so we are a month behind with our spring!
Didn't understand after you grab the two ends how and where you did pull them. Tried that for at least 10 times but I can't do it, I'm loosing my patience, just swearing😂🤬 I usually get rid with the easiest normal tie but yours is much more better, I admit. 😀
We used to tie a square knot and 90% of the time it worked but we've owned some really interesting balers and with this knot I never had problems Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment
I don't like "Polly" twine. Thissal baling twine. Poly will never rot. Pure old square knot with a small amount of grease works good on poly twine. Net wrap is cheaper than twine.
net wrap costs 4 times as much as twine, when we baled little bales we used sisal twine but poly twine works better in round balers and I would never put grease on any twine. Square knot is great on square bales
Nice knot buddy, here in uk we use the old Reef Knot.
Left over right. Right over left and trim..
Grease on the knot helps go through the tensioner. And 2 inch before knot.
That's the way I tie but never thought of the direction it travels. Learn something every day. That baler a good one.

@Enoch Benicio it worked and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my account!
@Saul Castiel Happy to help =)
Good tip, my old baler mechanic, showed me that on my old square baler
Never thought of net wrap freezing
I suppose in Australia it's not a problem!
Oil chains when there hot = when your done baling or anywhere in between as needed. I use hydraulic oil, stays the best and does a good job. Run the baler at lowest idle using a pump oil can.
I'll have to try this.... We always just do square knots

Andersoncattleco I have seen that done before but I haven't never tied a knot as you did nice video.
Thanks Roger and thanks for commenting
Just bought a machine like this. Would you be able to show how to route the twine?

G Day YES Doctors said move out, but when I hear 30-40 below I think I'm alright Guelph is about 20-2 5miles away

How do you set up your twine to the arms??
My small square Baler, I sometimes have trouble when it goes from one ball to the next, is that an issue with bigger twine?
We had problems with our older balers but it isn't a problem anymore especially with this knot , but it doesn't have to feed into a knotter. I know the big square guys like OLF are pretty fussy about tying a good knot with the tails trimmed.
Is there a advantage to using twine over netting? And what is the main difference the two
Twine is cheaper, I like twine better in the winter when the bales are icy and frozen

I have never tied the knot in a square baler , I hope it works and you can make lots of bales and not notice the twine change.
I will give it a try and let you know how it works, probably going to be mid july for first cut here, the snow just left this week so we are a month behind with our spring!
Try a few times but didn't worked for me😅
That's good idea Learn something new everyday lol
Thanks for watching I enjoy learning to
Do you store the twine bales outside?
Thanks for the tip!!
It works for me thanks for watching
Great job on the video thanks
Would give a thumbs up, but today will give a knot's up.
LOL thanks
Great info!
Thanks Brad
That looks like a square knot is what I use on small square baler
Thanks for sharing!
no problem thanks for commenting
