A pity longer version of the interview with Daryl Higham is not on TH-cam. Good to see the younger bands hanging on Hank's every word with one sporting. Burns guitar which I bet is now autographed!
stratocaster players usually steer clear of the bridge pickup but Hank practically lives there and makes it work, also that looks like a custom trem arm that has been bent a certain way to suit him, he is also a better guitar player than people think he is, ive seen him go way out his box doing great stuff with his son
I seem to remember that Neil Young was once on Jool's programme and whilst being intereviewed said that rather than watch an old clip of himself (off OGWT or whatever) he wanted to see a clip of The Shadows because he'd never seen them. So they wheeled out that film of them doing Atlantis to the film of FBI or something and we saw an insert of Neil's reaction. It was priceless, Young sat open mouthed and realising something was amiss Holland interupted the clip and Young uttered: ''They did a little dance!'' The audience started to titter, yes it's The Shadows walk....obviously Neil Young didn't know about it or the high kicks etc, he'd expected the rock star thing and Jool's laughed it off. I'd love to see the film of that if it's avilaable.

what a legend
Beste gitarist aller tijden !!!!!!!
Well........ best or just your favourite?
He’s a very talented guitarist and a true legend but at his age he’s not kidding anyone with that wig
My parents are convinced that's his, real hair!
Jon Burrows it cant be he is almost 80 and hasn’t even started to go thin lol
@@daz575
Who the hell wants fat hair?!?! 🤣🤣🤣
Timeless Talent
A pity longer version of the interview with Daryl Higham is not on TH-cam. Good to see the younger bands hanging on Hank's every word with one sporting. Burns guitar which I bet is now autographed!
BRUCE WELCH said HANK was a great player at 16 years of age he was playing notes . . real notes . enough said .
Legende mit Charme, Charisma und einer unglaublichen Bühnenpräsenz
stratocaster players usually steer clear of the bridge pickup but Hank practically lives there and makes it work, also that looks like a custom trem arm that has been bent a certain way to suit him, he is also a better guitar player than people think he is, ive seen him go way out his box doing great stuff with his son
Good music in yuo guitar Hank Marvin
He’s still got his Geordie accent
Nee way..its still there a bit..but na nee has it as broad..ya na what a mean like
With an Aussie twang ,I've met Hank a few times here in PERTH W Australia 😎🎵🎶🎵🎶
@@stephencorbett2862 I know people who have lived in Newcastle for 60 years, who sound like him. Go to some nicer neighbourhoods lol
He was a hero even for Neil Young
I seem to remember that Neil Young was once on Jool's programme and whilst being intereviewed said that rather than watch an old clip of himself (off OGWT or whatever) he wanted to see a clip of The Shadows because he'd never seen them.
So they wheeled out that film of them doing Atlantis to the film of FBI or something and we saw an insert of Neil's reaction.
It was priceless, Young sat open mouthed and realising something was amiss Holland interupted the clip and Young uttered:
''They did a little dance!''
The audience started to titter, yes it's The Shadows walk....obviously Neil Young didn't know about it or the high kicks etc, he'd expected the rock star thing and Jool's laughed it off.
I'd love to see the film of that if it's avilaable.
NEIL YOUNG wrote about Hank but it was Hank Williams I think, it's on the prairie wind album I'm pretty sure 😎🎵🎶🎵🎶from Australia
@@justinthyme3396 it could be, but i still remembre about he talking about the Shadows and how his guitar sound afected him .. read in a interview somewhere..or im nuts
@@theWARMJET I think his guitar sound affected thousands of guitar players, P.S. I've met Hank a few times here in PERTH W Australia a real gentleman....
P.S. NEIL YOUNG wrote from HANK TO HENDRIX it's off his HARVEST MOON album,I'm a big fan of NEIL YOUNG cheers from PERTH W Australia...
Pass me a sandwich, I'm Hank Marvin
Legend the Real Deal
Mr Hank Marvin the legend what else can I say
Check out some real guitarists
Hank B baby 🇬🇧🎸😎
Jools you are a legend
His smile resembles the beauty.
Influence on hell of a lot guitarist over the years who have listened to him guitarist's have got better players of course still got his own sound but hank was one of them who started people to play wrote some good tunes
I’m not sure you’ll find many better technical guitarists, even now. That’s why the professionals all worship him. His tone and consistency is very hard to replicate
With respect guys -every interviewer asks the same questions. It's Shads fans primarily who watch these videos guys - give us NEW news, not once again how a tremolo works. Who is it the interviewers think they are informing - the young girls sitting in the front rows?
How bored HBM must be at times ! Still the master though.
He's not the master, he's not even in the top ten, he's ok but not brilliant
Yep agree. Hank has been asked these questions a thousand times but still he is polite and courteous with his answers a true gent. Imagine asking Liam or Noel Gallagher in 30 yrs time when they’ve been asked 1000 times before how did oasis get there sound and how did Noel get into playing guitar. Be a very short answer!!
amazing guitar player!
I thought Clapton was king until I discovered Hank Marvin.
Also had one of the first Strat in Britian
hes a geordie lad so id love too know what music he grew up with and really got him into the guiter .. Chuck berry maybe coz there werent eny people that played the guiter in Newcastle when he was growing up well not the way he liked it
Wspaniały gitarzysta, szkoda że Shadows już nie grają.
The Shadows ont toujours été imités mais jamais égalés
I see his daughter Tahlia just to the left behind Jools Holland.
The possession/ownership of the original red strat is clearly an issue between these guys. Hank is nice about it, but it’s clear it’s Cliff’s guitar and not Bruce’s.
МАРВИН.Ваша.ГИТТА..БОГГ.
I remember Kellogs Corn Flakes holding a competition for one of those guitars..I didn`t win one though.
Hank Marvin THE BOSS .

Don't you mean Bruce Springsteen....
@@justinthyme3396 No . Hank is the BOSS of clean playing !
Unique is the word.
Funny how Bruce Welsh has Hank’s strat. He’s right - it was actually the first Strat to ever be owned outside of the USA, in fact. I’m surprised he’s so relaxed. It’s probably worth 2 million dollars!
In another interview Hank was asked about his guitars and said that he was terrified that one day he'd die and his wife would sell them all for what he told her he paid for them.
What colour is that stratocaster? Does not look exactly like a fiesta red, this one has more red
I am colour blind between Red, Brown and Green so can not help on this occasion..
@@Isleofskye its okay😀
It's a bit upsetting to see Hank here minimised to simply "a sound", plucking a couple of notes.
Shame the longer version with Daryl Higham is not on TH-cam. It was more insightful than this.
Legend, mentioned two stars know i know, Darrel Higham and Jeff Beck, but what i wanna know who is that gorgeous blonde sat directly behind and between Hank and Jools, closer look at her at 2.04 mins into the video, shes is so beautiful
I wonder if he ever though his name would be used to mean hungry.
God Almighty! Someone who can actually edit needs to be employed to do so!
Maybe God Almighty could do it, if he existed!
Hank Marvin est le guitariste le plus sensible et délicat il n'à pas son pareil pour faire sonné une fender stratocaster et vous faire dresser les poils.
