Lando Norris downplaying Vettel, Hamilton and now Verstappen while they have more championships than he has wins and yet some think people dislike him to "follow a trend"
Hasnt he said that Hamilton only was that good because he had the best Car for 7 Years? Norris had the best Car since Miami and the only thing he does is devolving from bottling to Tanking his Championship.
He's just another brat with a rich daddy who bought him go karts and racing lessons! Simple. He might be fast, but he's no championship material. He couldn't get past Russell... Russell in a merc that has been the dark horse car. No one was attacking him from the back either, like come on! Pole to P6... bottle of the season. How can his rival be p17 and still managed to place 6 places ahead of him? I was rooting for him mid season. But then he started showing his true colors! Bitching and whining, self criticizing to gain sympathy for poor performances... His interviews tell a lot about who he really is.
@@ThanosSofroniouno not like this. Hamilton with others even congratulated Max. Max was happy when he got his first win in Miami. Lando just said "it's just a gamble and they got it right it's pure luck, yeah"
"it was luck, not skill" might have been the worst reaction from a rival after the race. That's why one is a 4-time champion and the other fails to find opportunities to improve
"How did verstappen go from 17 to 1st. Well, in lap 32... " nice job to completely skip the magnificent way he climbed to 4th to be in the position to capitalize on it. Including amazing lap 1 overtakes
One of, if not the most impressive drive I've seen in the last decade in the sport .. but sure it's all luck. Whatever they need to say to cope I guess
Lando was begging to box, George was begging not to box. Looks like George Russell had a better feel for the race than Lando. Lando couldn't pass anyone at all without the team orders. Max passed EVERYONE in front of him. That was a drive of a lifetime from a legend and master of the rain. Lando wasn't saying it was just luck after qualifying was he?
@ There is literally nothing that backs that argument up. Even if F2 George benefitted from a disaster weekend in Russia and then had one of his own. The points table does reflect that or how much better the ART was over Carlin over the course of the season.
"How did Max win from 17th on the grid?" then this guy completely ignores all the overtakes Max did and skips to lap 32 and makes it seem like it was all luck...
It was luck tho. Russell and Norris had a 12 second gap to Max before the red flag. There's no way Max would have caught them with Ocon in-between without the safety car and red flag.
Max made some great overtakes, but he has a brand new engine that is simply overpowered compared to everybody else's older engines. Why is nobody mentioning that? Hamilton did the EXACT same thing in 2021 at Interlagos. We're at the end of a season, everybody has their engine dialed down so they survive and you don't need to take a penalty, but RB (strategically, and smartly) ate a penalty to give their driver a rocket in the last 4 races. That engine helped Max more than anything else.
@@notorious_nrsa he's been the best overall driver this year and Red Bull made an incredible car it took everyone nearly half a season to catch up to them so fair play Doesn't mean I have to like the personality of the driver, same as I never liked Hamilton
I want to see someone beat him because that's more exciting than a year where he wins every single race. But he's just so good in every condition and track type that it's hard to imagine someone beating him. I hope someday he decides to just have some fun and start driving a bottom-tier car just to handicap himself so that his wins are more impressive.
@@morleyabbott502you must be new to F1. Probably have watch the years of Mercedes dominance or what about Schumacher. Can’t stand when newbies start watching and criticize someone for being so good. And you talk about lower tier car? The Red Bull car is 4th best on the grid this year. That puts that car midfield. I’d call that a handicap. Perez ain’t a bad driver and realistically that’s probably where the car is. I’d say max is doing a PHENOMENAL job.
@@michaelblake9948 this year ? That car was unbeatable up until mid season, so let's not exaggerate , and good on Red Bull for making such a good car because they knew upgrading would be difficult with the price cap and losing Adrian Newey so put all their eggs in 1 basket hoping it would be dominant enough to stay ahead all season, if Perez wasn't so bad they'd have walked the constructors And Perez is a donkey this season only reason he's still got a contract is because Red Bull don't want to upset their fragile number 1 driver by putting someone in the seat that may give him a challenge
I was at the Interlagos, and it was incredible. In the sprint race, McLaren was flying - Norris and Piastri were clearly confident. But on Sunday, Max was obviously hungry for victory. Lando showed he's in the title fight because he has the best car, but as a driver, he's still several steps below Verstappen.
Max is and has been on another level driving wise compared to his peers. Just look what he does to all his teammates and the rest of the field. Especially in what is now the 3rd fastest car, sometimes the 4th.
Oscar was flying - Norris fast but slipping further behind Oscar - Max gradually closing on him. Norris was told to move up closer to Oscar at least twice. Oscar was told more than once to drop back so Norris could get close. Oscar the better driver. In addition Oscar knew from the start his instructions were to hold the challengers back, but he passed Norris early and therefore needed to dragg Norris along. He handed the win to Norris as per orders - Norris would most likely have been passed by Max or Charles or both if Oscar was not there. Oscar did it "for the team" - we are told (Zak Brown) 1 point between 1 & 2. Both in 1 & 2 so it wasn't for the team. The sad irony is that Norris has a win he didn't earn and Oscar gave up a win he earned but handed over. Ultimately in hindsight a bitter pill - Oscar surrendered the win for nothing. Did Oscar wiinge, ignore instructions and beg to keep the place? - no. I recall one race where Oscar was on Norris's tail lap after lap, and others were closing in. Norris refusing instructions to let him through. Finally he did. Lando's saving grace this time is getting out his car and immediately thanking Oscar. I do support Red Bull, Max my driver. However my non-RB drivers are Oscar, Lando and Charles. If Max were to lose the Championship my preference is one of the three. Unfortunately Lando undid everything later with his words - 'not skill' 'luck'.
Can you imagine how the British press would have reacted if it was Norris that went from 17th to 1st? They'd probably be calling for a public holiday. Instead it was hilarious to see them looking so depressed when talking post race to Horner, hahaha.
Public holiday lool. British champions: Hamilton, Button, Hill, Mansell, Hunt, Clark, Stewart, Graham Hill and more. Current British race winners: Norris, Hamilton, Russell. Brits are used to winning. Max is the only Dutch champion ever
Lewis did it, in Brazil, in 2021. F1 fans have a short term memory. Search: "Lewis Hamilton Overtakes EVERYONE! | 2021 Sao Paulo Grand Prix" Red Bull just copied the strategy. Take a brand new engine, at a track that's easy to overtake on. Max is great, but the wrecks + red flag were helpful. The brand new engine was immensely the catalyst for the win.
@isaacm2374 not surprising, seeing as England has far more racing & manufacturing infrastructure than any other country. Finland having three world champions is more impressive imo!
@@isaacm2374it was and exaggeration but let's be honest, the media here would incense honors left and right if that happened. Give him the credit, it was a masterclass from Max.

I would like to know how McLaren go from a mediocre performing car to an exceptional car in the space of a few weeks gap? Red Bull stayed dire. Mercedes stayed dire. Ferrari seem to have slipped or barely stayed as it was. All the other teams standing still. Did McLaren have a complete overhaul in the summer break?

Lando will have to outscore by 20.66 points on average to Max each weekend to have a shot at winning. It's basically over at this point. Max could obviously DNF or finish outside the points, but the only time that has happened this year was when his brakes failed.
I have think part of the problem was that there was no penalty in the rulebook for what they did. I was expecting points on their supervised at the very least. A €5,000 fine seems to be very lenient. I do expect that some new rules to appear at some stage to cover this. But then a precedent has been made with the fine.
Lando has every right to feel frustrated over what happened, but it would be good for him to recognize that Max's drive was a display of genuine skill, not just luck. Hopefully, Lando takes some time over the winter to reflect on his season-evaluating what went well and what didn't. This could also be a valuable opportunity to think about how he might approach a championship battle with Max differently in the future, should he find himself in that position again.
I agree, I’m not sure why he’s taken that view. Usually he’s aware enough to comment on his own shortcomings or mistakes but saying Max’s drive was pure luck is silly. I dislike Max because of his dirty driving style and childishness at times but he drove a phenomenal race and Lando should learn from this race.
And recognize that he made several crucial driving errors as well. He started P1 and let Russel pass him and literally drove of the track at the safetycar restart
Everyone has been talking about the "It was luck, not skill" quote, but in my opinion, Lando claiming that he "made no mistakes today" is far worse and speaks volumes about his mindset. You can call Max' driving dirty at times, but in the end he does what needs to be done in order to win, while Lando just throws his hands up, saying "well, I've done everything I could". He feels entitled to the championship, while unwilling to put in the work for it.
Cars behave differently in the wet. The biggest problem with that RB is tyre degradation and the rain solved that for them. Meanwhile the McLaren's brakes were useless. If you look at the 3rd restart it's clear Norris brakes noticably earlier than Leclerc but still locked up. Piastri had the same issue to some extent. There were several times when Max had poor exits on turn 12 but still managed to overtake before turn 1. Max was phenomenal but was losing time to Lando when stuck behind Leclerc then Gasly. It isn't luck that Max is the best atp and deserves the WDC, but he was extremely lucky with both the conditions and the timing of Colapinto's crash and nobody can deny that.
@@ChristopherPhillipsno one has the "fastest car" in the wet. These are the only conditions that bring the field close together and we can see displays of skills and bravery. But, yes i do enjoy myself some DTS
@@VeryIntellijent Those brakes are controlled directly by the driver... And in the rain they all work nearly the same, due to the limiting factor being the standard tires. The cars are not really fast enough for different downforce to make a huge difference, and they can't put down their whole power in the rain. This in turn negates most differences aerodynamics or the engine would make. So you are left with the drivers and the strategy. Both of which both Alpines and Verstappen did marvelously with.
saying ”he just got lucky” when u started on pole and dropped to 6th and your championship rival started from 17th and went on to win the race shows how immature lando is and how much growin up he still has to do, some ppl saying he could be a serious championship contender against max seems even more hillarious now lol
@@ChristopherPhillips exactly, I'm no Lando fan, but seeing everyone take that out of context so they can hate on their least favorite driver just isn't cool man, so much negativity with these "fans"
How did Lando only get away with a fine for the false start? That was reckless and dangerous, a tractor removing a car just off track in the wet with a driver there with a risk of someone else going off…he should thank his lucky stars that it wasn’t a massive grid penalty (He’s lucky Herbert didn’t think he was Fernando), thankfully nothing else happened after the reckless false start 🧐
Its ridiculous, meanwhile max got community service for his language and he got a penalty on his super license for driving a bit too fast at the vsc. Shouldn't that have been a normal penalty ?!? Fia is doing everything to give mclaren the win 😂
@ It’s the Brits, don’t forget Fernando getting penalised for George Russell crashing himself, even after George admitted it was his fault to start with only to change his tune after…
don't forget, Formula 1 Management is a for-profit organization. It is in F1M interest to make have a competitive title race. Who the fuck was watching F1 when max or hammilton were parading to victory.
It was not exactly a false start and that lap was more of a Sunday excursion than anything else. That said it wouldn't shock me if he got a 5 place grid penalty for Las Vegas.
When I saw that I was trying to work out how he got there given he was on the tarmac beforehand.I If his father did not control the team he would be an ex F1 driver long ago (maybe never got there).
To be very fair, it was best scenario for him this race. Way how rears locked before "oopsie" didn't looked good - some setup was wrong for wets after very quick rebuild of car. He would hit wall at some point at much higher speed and (for change) not from his own mistake.
I've never understood the hate towards the tyre change rule. Firstly it's needed for safety. What if a team got a puncture during the red flag? Are they supposed to start on tyres that are popped? Also, without the rule it'd be unfair to any team that didn't pit before the red flag as they'd be on worn tyres with a bunched up field. So yeah, maybe Lando should stop talking about rules he doesn't like and instead focus on not bottling 4 consective starts lol.
The safety thing works both ways because the way it currently is the drivers are essentially encouraged to hold out on worn tyres that are becoming increasingly unsafe for the conditions in the hopes of benefiting for a red flag, this in turn makes it more likely someone will crash which makes it more likely they'll be a red flag
The quick version... those who get to the red flag without pitting gained position and a pit stop, for free. No time loss whatsoever. Their cars got to those positions without "earning it" is probably the thought of the other teams. The longer version... Verstappen, Ocon and Gasly never lost 24 seconds in the pit like Norris, Leclerc and others did. They were lucky in that regard. To discount Max's skill is another thing altogether but Red Bull played their cards right by putting a brand new engine in the car and eat a penalty on a rainy track, at a track that is easy to overtake. They, and Mercedes in the past, have done it many times before at Interlagos. Additionally... Haas has to be furious. They've looked miles better all season (15+ races) compared to Alpine and now Alpine, in 1 race, is ahead of them in the constructors, due to a red flag. Alpine hasn't really "earned" that position, they were lucky.
I agree with you 100% - the tyre change rule is good. You are sitting in the pit lane, but you can't change tyres - it would be ridiculous. It was different in the refuelling time - you had to pit when running out of gas, now everyone has full control over when they make all pit stops. It would be unfair to favour these who pit before red flags.
Let them crying lying to themselves all they want all they want like some people and by their Logic Alpine was faster than Ferrari and Mercedes and Mclaren in this race aswell meanwhile their golden boy will be bottled the WDC with that Orange Rocketship and having the best car majority of the season since Miami 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Helmut Marko was right about Norris. Poor mentality. Also the fact that they got away with a big safety infringment is a big hit for the credibility of F1. Safety has always been pointed at as an excuse for harsh and sometimes unreasonable consequences. To now suddenly turn that upside down and punish less harshly then even Leclerc punishment for saying fuck, all the while the integrity of stewards was already put into question. It feels almost intentional, like theyre flaunting their power in response to the criticism. Not great for the perception of the sport.
The world is happy that MAX won because the World knows about there is favoritism towards British drivers by the media and FIA. The good guys won on Sunday.
Norris can only win because Piastri has to keep changing positions from the team. He also received that victory in Miami as a gift because of the safety car. P1- P6 what a talent!
Love him or dislike him the guy is bloody good. Not going to lie i like the excitement of a possible title fight but that will wait to next year. Max splits opinion on his driving ethics at times just like Senna and Schumacher did. He's old school in some ways and i appreciate that about him.
I would have expected at the very least points on the superlicense and a grid penalty for the next race. I think the thing that saved them was that there was no penalty defined in the rule book. I'd expect one to be added but there is a precedent for the penalty to be a fine now.

It's always nice when you get a race like this where drivers get to show real skill and talent, and the less talented drivers also get highlighted (Stroll) Max showed this weekend that he is the best on the grid by some distance. (I'm English but I have eyes)
Lando should have got a penalty for pulling away from the grid at the start, and both Mercedes cars should have been disqualified for changing tire pressure on the grid with the wheels installed.
People criticising Max for being so extreme and devoted to winning at any cost. He’s no different to the actual teams, their relentless focus on squeezing everything out of the rules and regulations. He should be recognised and respected for acting like the organisation he in part leads.
The 2021 fight between Max & Lewis was very heated and they had flashpoint multiple times. But if there's one thing (two actually) that they both have back then was acknowledgement and respect. The two important things that Norris lacks this year and two important things that champions has. Even back in the day between Senna & Prost to the point where their friendship falling out they still acknowledge one another.
I'm not a Max fan but I wholeheartedly think this "title fight" was completely fabricated by the media. I don't think there was one race after the summer break where Norris close the gap by more than the minimum he had to to get closer to Verstappen. I remember during the summer break the media saying he had to outscore max every race by 8 points. But after Baku and especially Mexico, they were still praising him for taking points out of Verstappen, even though he had scored less than he needed. MV clearly felt a little bit of pressure (I'd imagine that's way he raced Norris so hard in the US and MEX), maybe the media talk got into him, or he felt FIA was favoring McLaren. But I don't think it was too close for comfort.
It was on, they just bottled it. And thats the reality. The best care could've easily won so many races and they didn't. This was all down to race strategy being off, no clear 1st and 2nd driver and Norris bottling starts.
No. Before the weekend it was under 2 wins in 4 races (and 2 sprints). Ask Kimi if that is possible or not. For him it was 17 points in 2 races when a win was 10 points
Nah fabricated is a bit exaggerated, it was actually possible, but this is assuming Norris always finishes above Max... But Norris keeps bottling his start anyway.
@@TheMoikero Except this Kimi guy was actually pretty good and let's be honest, that championship win was as rare as it gets. And this season was 2 wins in 4 races IF Ver DNFed. Which are two big ifs, considering RB track record and Norris 3 wins since Miami (15 races).
@@guilhermefonseca1562 True but still, making up 2 wins in 4 races is easier than in 2. Nobody expected Lewis to DNF and to only get 7th. That is not an accurate description of how the race went down at all. Max asked to stay out because they were driving under red flag conditions. George said so too but was overruled by his team. Even without the crash the chances of a red flag were very high. A lot of drivers knew this including George and Max. Sorry to say this but this is one of the first videos from The Race in which I feel there’s actual British Bias. Mentioning Max’s fastest lap as ‘he picked it up’ rather than the factual 10 of his last 11 laps were the fastest at that time. And although Max was stuck behind Leclerc for a while, he was released before the VSC even came and could well have been racing Norris and the Alpines under normal circumstances and overtake them. But instead, those things are passed off as irrelevant to the story. And in that way, this story clearly panders to people that have a large chunk of ‘passport focused’ consumption.
I think that’s the reason McLaren didn’t support Lando over Oscar like RB has supported Max over Perez. Not that they wanted Oscar to win instead of Lando, but that they wanted Lando to prove he could do it over Oscar.
Lando got away with way too much this race. Just a fine for driving away after Stroll went full retard. Then he cut the track TWICE and neither time was even under investigation. His second fuck up would have realistically dropped him into P9/P10 territory, and instead he cut the track and slotted himself behind Oscar. Outrageous shit.
Wow. Y'all really are salty if this is the quality you're willing to put out after everything that happened yesterday. Maybe address the controversial points properly. And show up to the presser. Shameful stuff. I had some respect for The Race as one of the more neutral outlets out there but this video is a massive disappointment.
As a McLaren supporter, the race for the title never started, Max was always the better driver, and Norris didn’t deserve it anyway. He should focus on keeping the lead in the first corner before thinking about titles. He had the best car the whole second part of the season, and didn’t do anything with it. Don’t talk to me about Piastry, to win a title the first driver you have to beat is your teammate, and he couldn’t do that. In my book, the better driver won, and luck had nothing to do with it. I hope for a better title battle next year.
Norris suggesting "Box to overtake" Russell was a strange one. Surely at that point he would already know that if he pitted there's a good chance he'd come out in the traffic and I think he's already experienced enough to knew how hard it is to overtake in the rain (if you are not named Verstappen, at least), not to mention Mclaren running maximun Downforce rear wing which would hurt his overtaking prowess even more. Even Russell wanted to stay out for as long as possible (before merc forced him to pit and eventually shoot themselves on the foot by doing that).
I didn't watch the video, but there was never a title fight. It weird that they even started talking about it. In order for Norris to win it, he would have to do int he last 6 races what he never did in the previous races and more importantly, Ma would have to do things he has not done in years. The fact that something is mathematically possible has no bearing on whether or not it is actually possible. McLaren goal/ priority should have been from the moment they took the lead in the constructors and is solidifying the constructors title. That is where the money and prestige is.
This is the type of race that shows who the true champions are. Its why they called Schumacher the rainmeister. Its why Hamilton was considered the best rain driver in the sport. Max is an absolute demon in the rain. It was fascinating to see him employ the same tactics yesterday that he did in that phenomenal 2016 race. Sticking to the outside of turn 3 while everyone else tried to hit the apex.
Thas why he is the GOAT, the GOAT! Max silencing the Brittisch media and them not being there at the press conference is the best thing I've seen in a long time.

- Lando has poor starts. - Mclaren and Lando lack the confidence to make the right pitstop call. - Lando too concerned about being friends with Max. - Mclaren too concerned with driver harmony. They currently lack the ruthless attitude of RB and Max.
The stupidist thing to do in a race where safety cars and/or red flags are possible is pit first when there is no pressing need to. Russell and Norris (Merc & Mclaren) basically handed the race away at that point. No luck needed when you're competing against incompetence.
Max was looking for the British media in the post race press conference….. Why didn’t they stay to ask questions? Aren’t they interested in his thoughts on Norris’ comment about this race having nothing to do with talent? Weird how Norris cries about everything that doesn’t benefit him. They gave Norris every opportunity and advantage to chip major points off the WDC and he still sht the bed.
Lando Norris doesn’t stand a chance against a Titan like Max Verstappen. Could Lando be a world champion? Sure-but only if he has a car with at least a 0.5-second advantage over Max. If they’re even within the same tenth, Max will annihilate him every time.

Perez ain’t a bad driver and realistically that’s probably where the car is. I’d say max is doing a PHENOMENAL job.
@@michaelblake9948 this year ?
That car was unbeatable up until mid season, so let's not exaggerate , and good on Red Bull for making such a good car because they knew upgrading would be difficult with the price cap and losing Adrian Newey so put all their eggs in 1 basket hoping it would be dominant enough to stay ahead all season, if Perez wasn't so bad they'd have walked the constructors
And Perez is a donkey this season only reason he's still got a contract is because Red Bull don't want to upset their fragile number 1 driver by putting someone in the seat that may give him a challenge
💯

Red Bull just copied the strategy. Take a brand new engine, at a track that's easy to overtake on. Max is great, but the wrecks + red flag were helpful. The brand new engine was immensely the catalyst for the win.

Lando has every right to feel frustrated over what happened, but it would be good for him to recognize that Max's drive was a display of genuine skill, not just luck.
Hopefully, Lando takes some time over the winter to reflect on his season-evaluating what went well and what didn't.
Only 5000 euro fine than a 10 sec penalty. I believe if it was Max who did it, it will be 20 sec penalty.
Bro got the fastest car but dont know how to drive in the wet😅
He didn't have the fastest car in the wet. Drive to Survive fan?

And in the rain they all work nearly the same, due to the limiting factor being the standard tires. The cars are not really fast enough for different downforce to make a huge difference, and they can't put down their whole power in the rain.
This in turn negates most differences aerodynamics or the engine would make. So you are left with the drivers and the strategy. Both of which both Alpines and Verstappen did marvelously with.

When I saw that I was trying to work out how he got there given he was on the tarmac beforehand.I
If his father did not control the team he would be an ex F1 driver long ago (maybe never got there).
I'd ask what the hell was he thinking, but therein lies the answer; he doesn't think.
Anything that can be used as an excuse will be, that's just the lawyers era of F1.
the only hate is from the whingers

After the restart on lap 43, Norris left the track and then rejoined in front of Tsunoda - he overtook Tsunoda, Alonso and Hamilton while leaving the track. And yet, nobody even investigated that???
I think he remained in the same place as,he went off from. He did cut the chicane out though - I seem to recall that cost Senna a DSQ in 1989.
You can hear and feel lack of enthusiasm and big disappointment in this clip.
Completely ignoring Maxs brilliant overtaking moves before lap 32 😮
Completely deserves after the Stewards favored Norris blatantly in the Sprint and Qualy, by not taking VSC after Piastri swapped with Norris, and only Sector 2 flag after Norris has passed Stroll crash and set up time, damaging Verstappen. British couldn't win against champion's skill and luck this time 😉 Ron Dennis will be mad.
It's always nice when you get a race like this where drivers get to show real skill and talent, and the less talented drivers also get highlighted (Stroll) Max showed this weekend that he is the best on the grid by some distance. (I'm English but I have eyes)
Why did Norris escape penalty at start of lap 43 when he slid off and overtook several rivals before rejoining behind Pastri?
This, he took a shortcut. Just because he lost 1 postion doesnt mean he didnt gain an advantage over the cars behind.
Because there was no advantage? He lost 1 position. @@ashitkotian2396
How did he win places if he was P6 when he left the track and P7 when he rejoined?
@@ashitkotian2396 The shortcut actually made him lose a bit of time to the cars behind, namely Tsunoda and Alonso
@@soundscape26Did he rejoin the track in a safe manner? Find better arguments 🤣.
Lando should have got a penalty for pulling away from the grid at the start, and both Mercedes cars should have been disqualified for changing tire pressure on the grid with the wheels installed.
You joking right? What do you think is the role of Johnny Herbert in the stewards room? 😅😅
People criticising Max for being so extreme and devoted to winning at any cost. He’s no different to the actual teams, their relentless focus on squeezing everything out of the rules and regulations. He should be recognised and respected for acting like the organisation he in part leads.
Schumi, Alonso, and Hamilton would act the same way. You cannot be a push over
The 2021 fight between Max & Lewis was very heated and they had flashpoint multiple times.
You also cant forget that Alonso had 5 points more than Kimi before that. It was very unlikely but compared to that situation it was closer this year and thats why i dont fully agree with the statement that the fight was only fabricated.
I just love how english went pretty silent after that race🤣 especially media .
"Its all luck and no skill" : From 3 time race winner on 4 time WDC driver.
that quote was massively taken out of context.
@@chriswillison1 I think the context is pretty close to how that quote is being used tbh
People have been saying that about Hamilton for years. Water off a duck's back.
That is not an accurate description of how the race went down at all. Max asked to stay out because they were driving under red flag conditions. George said so too but was overruled by his team. Even without the crash the chances of a red flag were very high. A lot of drivers knew this including George and Max. If anything blame the FIA, they are always 30 seconds too late with any call they make
Falling from P1 to P6 truly is "just luck, not skill" 😂
"A silly rule no one agrees with..." It suited him perfectly fine when he was the beneficiary of said rule in Miami but now has a problem with it, double standards. He's behaving like a spoiled child
You conveniently left out the end of that sentence, ‘unless you’re the one benefiting’.
It’s a bad rule.
It's not though. It's a safety-related rule. Red flags are usually called bc of accidents amd this rule is there to make sure teams don't send drivers out with damage picked up from debris. @@PhoenixNoKiseki
The one in Miami was a SC. This was a red flag free tyre change.
The rule he's talking about is the possibility to change tyres during a red flag
He couldn't cope with his own cries for pit stop. At least his race engineer was half descent to deny his asks to do pitstop in green light conditions
But what about Strolls magnificent race strategy ?
he was brilliant. did not want to drive in the rain, did not want to tell his father so found the best way out! He is a genius!
He's doing just as well as Checo to be honest.
@@LetoxxIant That is actually the only logical explanation to what happened. Because I've watched F1 for over 35 years, and this was one of the most ridiculous things I've seen any driver do, It would even be embarrassing in Formula 4.
He was distracted by all the wet windows around the circuit.
@@FabledGentlemanthere were problems with the car, because it was assembled in a rush after quali. Alonso complained about it as well. Stroll wanted the easy way out, and when the spin did not do the trick he simply beached it
Sorry to say this but this is one of the first videos from The Race in which I feel there’s actual British Bias.
Anyone remembers when people said "It's just the car" when it came to Max?
People use that excuse for all drivers they don't like
@@soundscape26LOO
They are still saying it. Oh, and luck as well
Max: has one of the most dominant drives ever
The Race: makes a video focused on Norris
Now that Norris is out, Oscar can start winning races 😂
I think that’s the reason McLaren didn’t support Lando over Oscar like RB has supported Max over Perez. Not that they wanted Oscar to win instead of Lando, but that they wanted Lando to prove he could do it over Oscar.
All that happened really was Lando showed us why he’s not ready to be a WDC
100% True. Let's face it, Max would have been WDC several races ago in that car.
Yeah he’s going to smoke Verstappen in 2025 now that he doesn’t have Newey 😂
Lando got away with way too much this race. Just a fine for driving away after Stroll went full retard. Then he cut the track TWICE and neither time was even under investigation. His second fuck up would have realistically dropped him into P9/P10 territory, and instead he cut the track and slotted himself behind Oscar. Outrageous shit.
Wow. Y'all really are salty if this is the quality you're willing to put out after everything that happened yesterday.
Maybe address the controversial points properly. And show up to the presser. Shameful stuff. I had some respect for The Race as one of the more neutral outlets out there but this video is a massive disappointment.
wah wah wah
@@techuu for a second I thought you were The Race replying lmao
I totally agree.
Norris is really becoming unbearable with his statements.
Typicial Spoilt Child when things dont go Lando,s way Pout..Pout..Pout!!
The fact that all Lando received was a small fine is pathetic. They didn't even bother to give a reason for why there was no proper penalty.
If it was Max instead of Lando he would’ve gotten AT LEAST a 10 sec penalty
As a McLaren supporter, the race for the title never started, Max was always the better driver, and Norris didn’t deserve it anyway. He should focus on keeping the lead in the first corner before thinking about titles. He had the best car the whole second part of the season, and didn’t do anything with it. Don’t talk to me about Piastry, to win a title the first driver you have to beat is your teammate, and he couldn’t do that. In my book, the better driver won, and luck had nothing to do with it. I hope for a better title battle next year.
Oscar will be a champion before Lando ever will. You'll see!
People like Lewis and Max don't believe in luck.
you said it.
Actually they do, they also understand it can go both ways. It's part of the game.
They believe in luck, just don't use it as an excuse when they lose.
That's the difference between generational talent and someone who just got a fast car after several years in F1.
Near the end you say Mclaren won the constructors in 2008, it was 1998. Ferrari won in 2008.
Was Johnny Herbert at the press conference?
Nooo why you think it was raining so hard in Brazil. Johnny was crying a river
He was working as a steward this weekend
Nope he was slacking off Lando.
They wouldn't know
Nope
P1 to P6 (*P7) is Pure Talent 😂
Max went out and cook 🔥
Lando got pressure cooked ☠️
Imperious Max, on another level completely.
With everyone arguing online, I always appreciate how well explained and straight forward you guys give it to us.
Thas why he is the GOAT, the GOAT! Max silencing the Brittisch media and them not being there at the press conference is the best thing I've seen in a long time.
He's the best of his generation but far from being the goat. He's got a useless teammate and two cars from a sister team always moving out of the way for him. Lewis, Senna and Prost didn't have that.

“Got stuck in the gravel.” Way too generous, “beached himself” is much more appropriate.
the crash reaction also sets a dangerous precedent ....that the fia can decide which cars get to complete their laps before calling in a red flag. While I agree max wouldnt have made it, some cars gained an advantage from the delayed red flag regardless...that is not standard procedure.
I think you skipped over the fact that max pulled off a phenomenal race, and had fought his way up the grid before this event.
The wrong driver is racing max in the right car… it’s irritating
Agreed!
Go Oscar.
As some Austrian commentator said, Norris cannot stand in front of an empty goal and miss all the shots.
Norris isn't wdc material and it's obvious the only driver on the grid that can challenge max right now is leclerc.Hamilton I think is too old now but he might still be up to the task in 2025
