He will be fine. Honestly, I think he's more adaptable than his predecessors and mentally stronger too.

RBR had the 4th-best car and Perez did what most F1 drivers would. Max made the RBR car look better than it can possibly be in the hands of any other driver.
If Perez had Sainz as a team mate at RBR, then they would've finished 7th and 8th in the WDC and nobody would think either of them are awful.
Perez is a very capable driver but Max is just far, far, far too fast.
Lawson will do worse than Perez.

he was faster in a vcarb and drives in a similar style to Max vs Checo stable back end style. They car can then be setup with a wider operating window for both drivers.

@@Max_Flashheart You logically know that means nothing to be "faster in a Vcarb" because I'd argue that the Vcarb (on SOME tracks) had a higher potential than the RBR car did in the hands of an average F1 driver.

@@mahadevovnl Well 1 RBR car. The vcarbs might start ahead of Max but not behind at the finish normally.

Correction, Red Bull had the best car, before the others took over half way through the season. That's why Max won the championship as he dominated in those first races, as he did all year in 2023 and even Checo was able to utilise the car properly initially. Max wasn't much of a threat in the second half of the season. Liam will not do worse than Perez. Perez was outclassed by much slower drivers in much slower cars. Liam is already at Yuki's level, despite never having raced on most of the tracks.

Yuki has not done enough for the seat. He's been there for 4 years and Liam was pretty much matching him from day one on tracks he'd never raced on before. He's also a kiwi - you have no idea how hard it is for someone from this country to make it to F1 - it takes a hell of a lot of mental strength. He has the will and dedication and is an incredibly good driver. He's also stated that "driving style" isn't a limiting factor and that F1 drivers are paid professionals who should be able to adapt to any car or they shouldn't be there. He'll be fine.
