Did you know that there’s also transonic aircraft which fly at speeds between Mach 0.8 and Mach 1.2? Most jet airliners are classified as transonic aircraft rather than subsonic. Transonic is defined where some of the air flowing around the plane is moving supersonic even if the plane as a whole is flying subsonic and/or when the some of the air flowing around the plane is move subsonic even if the plane as a whole is flying supersonic. Most fighter jets by the way usually fly at subsonic speeds below Mach 0.8 even though they can fly at supersonic speeds above Mach 1.2.
You're sure welcome! There's also "hypersonic" which is defined as flying at speeds of Mach 5 or more. But as you may already know, no airplane can fly at hypersonic or even near hypersonic speeds. Only rocket propelled aircraft and spacecraft can achieve these insanely high speeds! Crazy, right?
hello thank you for the video its very educative keep up with the great work , and i have one question , 1. after the air flow passes the shock wave , pressure , temperature and density increase right ? you said in the video total pressure decreases.
PLEASE, YOUR VIDEOS ARE VERY VERY GOODS, BUT HERE IN FLORIDA STATE , ARE MANY PEOPLES THAT WOULD LIKE THE SUBTITULOS TOO. IN SPANISH (ESPAÑOL), BECAUSE THE TECNICH LANGUAJE, IS NOT EASY IN ENGLISH, AND WE REPEAT, WE WOULD LIKE YOUR VIDEOS, FIRST IN ENGLISH OK, BUT TOO, IN SPANISH ( CAPTION C , C C ) SUBTITULOS TOO EN ESPAÑOL. THANKS, GRACIAS , TO THE DIRECTION OF THIS WEBB SIDE J x J AVIATION. I LIVE HERE IN FLORIDA . SINCERILY C.P.PEREIRO

@@ChrisZoomER Adding to the engines, the structure of the aircraft must withstand the high temperatures at supersonic speeds as well
@@JxJAVIATION yeah I know
@@ChrisZoomER ooh thanks

yes the total pressure decreases but the static pressure increases.
I enjoy your videos keep up the good work
Thank you! Check out my other videos as well!
Excellent video keep doing pls...
Thank you, Sure!

Welcome sir!
Please leave out the music.
Yes noted. It was not a good decision!
You Video is Highly Digestable, I request you to Keep it up Please
Thank you! Do check out all my other videos!
The trailing edge cone of water vapor has nothing to do w supersonic speed/ is created at any speed but you all keep using it as an inaccurate visual.
Its actually more easy to see it at supersonic speeds!
The music is pretty unnecessary
Noted. Thanks
