I saw that mid course brake run and was wondering if they were using it. Didn’t look like it. I rode this coaster about six years ago and there was no braking at that point in the ride. Have they decided to just not ever use that brake again and have no plans to remove it?
@@AbandonedMines11the breaks work just don’t stop the train. I am pretty sure for block zones on 3 train ops. Cause even if a train doesn’t stop on a break run it makes a sound of it closing after the train goes over it. Even tho the dispatches suck
I just can’t get past how I feel after this ride. I feel like a little kid again laughing my butt off and even though other rides I’ve ridden are more impressive, this one makes me the happiest
I had one of them last year at scary farm. I made him wait an hour for Ghost rider when silver bullet was a 15 min wait. This is by far the best ride in the park. Scary farm is going to be crowded though thats a given.
I went to Knotts today! Was able to get 3 rides on GhostRider despite it having a 2+ hour wait. I can safely say this is the best (if not THE BEST) wooden roller coaster in California!
I also went 2 months ago (This comment is 2 months old that's why I am saying "Two months ago") and me and my kid rode Ghostrider for the first time at night.
This is the best wooden coaster in california and this video can't do it justice. Ride it at night it will give a 5X multiplier, ride in the back it will give a 2X. I love taking people on this that are scared of big roller coasters and telling them it's just a wooden coaster and watching them white in the face after. 10/10 woodie.
This is easily my favorite ride in the park, and probably my second favorite overall after Twisted Colossus. The second half in the back row is one of the most insane things I've ever experienced, and the helix ending is such a weird and fun decision. I like how it starts perfectly flat and gives you some time to get used to the laterals, and then drops down at 2:12, its really unexpected and makes the helix even more insane.
The longest road trip I have ever taken was to experience this coaster. Best wood coaster in the world in my opinion. I'd clone this and make a Kemah Boardwalk in metro Detroit.
8 years since the renovation, and it still rides great. Knott's has been going through some struggles lately, but I will say they've done a fantastic job with the upkeep on Ghostrider. Now if only I could say the same for Ops...
while airtime and laterals are a great part of this ride, what truly makes it for me is the ridiculous pacing that makes it feel like the ride is going the same speed the entire time. This one never gets old.
Riding this for the first time tonight during KSF or tomorrow for regular KBF. I love a good, long rollercoaster and this looks so awesome. So excited to ride it!
I love riding wooden coasters. I actually enjoy the shaky ride. I remember riding the Gold Rusher at Magic Mountain as a kid and went to he back of the car because the line for the front was packed. Had a blast and I figured that riding at the front would have been amazing. What a let down. Back of the train everytime since then.
I went on ghost rider for the first time on August, and this by far was the best ride i’ve been on! I can note some things to help people who want to give this ride a try. The wait on this ride was pretty long and it’s pretty slow (at least when I went on it). I’m not much of a rollercoaster person, but was still able to have fun going on this ride. While seated on the ride, the way up was pretty smooth but I’ll admit I was definitely scared for the drop. The first drop on this ride was definitely the scariest, it’s packed with airtime but happens very fast. After the first drop, I felt immune to all the other drops! The fifth drop in the video was also packed with some airtime, but definitely not as much as the first drop. The rest of the ride is pretty tame (in terms of airtime) and bumpy. Don’t let the drops on this ride scare you into not riding it because overall it’s not bad at all. This ended up being my favorite ride at Knotts, and I’ll definitely be waiting 2 hours to ride this again! Hope my advice helped!
i just went on this ride today and it was so intense 😂 the drops made my stomach feel all weird it was so fun… the only thing is the line though. it took about a hour or more to get on, but it was totally worth it🔥
I live near the park, and I’ve ridden the Ghostrider numerous times in my life. If you could only ride one of the roller coasters at Knott’s, it should be either Xcelerator or the Ghostrider.
I got to ride this in the early 2000's, when it was cold, at night and BACKWARDS! Scarriest and funnest thing I've ever done! I don't know if they still run it backwards but if they do, DO IT!
I’m going to knott’s tomorrow, I didn’t realize GhostRider was running this good, I remember it being a little more rough in November last year. Still my favorite coaster I’ve ever ridden. Nice POV, by the way
the more rickety ghost rider is the better as far as i'm concerned. One year I remember they ran the train backwards for scary farm, that was terrifying.
While I've only ridden coasters in North America, if I could only ride this & the Voyage for the rest of my life, I'd be quite satisfied. Between the two, all the right buttons are pushed for me. 😁
A small sneak peek at whatever is replacing The Depths for Scary Farm! From what I could see, it looks like they're moving the Maze Entrance to the other side of the show building, instead of by the gate! I'm excited to see what they've been cooking up!
Should i go on this rollercoaster? Im going to knotts for my field trip this year and im kinda scary of heights. I dont like the butterfly feeling in my stomach though
The first half feels like what you'd expect from a really good wooden rollercoaster, the drop is a bit underwhelming but everything after hits and is paced perfectly. Then the second half starts and it goes from great to beyond insane.
While I prefer xcelerator in the park and gold striker in the state, this ride is still quite good but it suffers from small bits of dead spots/pacing inconsistencies. Still super fun tho.
Very disappointing to see they've physically re added the mid course trim that was removed when GCI re tracked it. I hope they don't start using it again as the coaster ages, rather than keeping up the trackwork instead. I just see it as a warning sign being there, that's all, whether it's currently being used or not.
@@theearthlord2209 I rode it before the retrack and while I was pretty young, I remember it being really rough and not as memorable as the GCI retrack. It feels like it could have opened last year with the exact same layout.
definitely top 3 coasters in so cal. I can't think of what could beat it in my book. Maybe a few at 6 flags, Viper maybe... It's the best ride at knotts. I like silver bullet but ghost rider is way better.
It’s crazy how this coaster is so well received, but then something like the Predator at Six Flags Darien Lake is received so poorly regardless of the fact that they have very similar layouts
@@drdewott9154 I haven’t been on it in years. Last time I remembered it was very brutal on my body lol. But I heard there were some “modifications” to it a couple years ago. I don’t know the details in regards to it though.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. It's definitely not California's best. I heard nothing but good things about it and so when I finally rode it for the first time in October 2022 I went on it with high expectations and was totally disappointed. It still felt rough and janky. I even smacked my elbow on the side of the car during one of the turns and ended up coming off it with a large bruise. 👎
I also personally prefer the back over the front, especially with how it handles certain sections (drop off the midcourse in the back is one of the best airtime moments of any coaster).

The drop after the never used mid course brake run in the back row is so great.
hands down one of the best parts if not thee best part of the ride
@@blackbeltbiker8169I should know, my first ever ride on Ghostrider was in the second to back row, and I got so much airtime off that drop!
