Me too, I had a feeling that something was off about Jeanette from the beginning, and was firmly on Team Kate, yet it didn't change how shocked I was by the reveal!
The finale twist was so clever. You don't realize until those concluding moments that Jeanette has played the entire audience like a fiddle, not just the other characters. Can't wait to see what Season 2 will bring!
This show has so much depth, real issues, twists and turns and surprises that I truly didn't see coming and I usually do! Everything was beautifully done! I can't wait for season 2! 😍👏
I didn't like the finale because I hated that they basically ruined Jeanette's life and then, they don't care. I mean, Kate apologizes and whatever but then, Mallory doesn't apologize to Jeanette or even start some sort of reconciliation because Mallory sucks as a human being. Also, Jeanette not saying she heard Kate in the basement isn't even stated so, it doesn't matter anyway.
It needed to happen though, IMO. To open people’s eyes, because people were so down with victim shaming Kate. Even though Kate was in the wrong in some aspects, she still didn’t deserve being in Martin’s basement. People around her knew the truth and didn’t do nothing, similar to how it is irl.
As I see it, the only guilty party is Joy (Kate’s mom). Why? Because she was the one who was cheating, not the husband. If she has came clean then none of this would’ve happened.
The ending still shook me to my core

Hmmm can't wait to watch it all on a cousin's Hulu after I get out of COVID

Precisely, there was never a moment that I saw coming, or predicted right away!
@@trinaq Right?! Cruel Summer shocked me, that's for sure! Lol
The fact that even the cast was as shocked as us
