  • A short movie of the restoration of my Jensen Healey so far. There are still a lot of things to do. I've to rebuild the engine, restore the interior and then build up the complete car before I can bring the Jensen Healey back on the road again.

    Nice work
Looking very crisp with good shut lines. My vote; not that this is in anyway democratic is keep it as original as possible, the only changes I would make are, electronic ignition and better cooling with electric fans. The 907 I found to be a great engine mine did 75,000m with only a couple of water pumps and servicing. The 45 DCOE side draft carbs fitted to the european cars are worth fitting.
Mine got parked while I went back to do my postgrade studies then sat for years in a friends field as I never had the time to do anything with it until I heard of someone who wanted to restore one and is now back on the road amazingly the engine only had new rings and shells fitted plus the carbs/top end rebuilt.
They are fun in the true British sports car way, basic, direct and predictable.

You are doing an excellent job...the body and paint are stunning. Now, I have a suggestion for you (because I used to own a '74 J/H years ago). If you decide to keep the original wheels, you can strip off all the black paint and factory coatings, leaving the shiny aluminum (just clear coat them) and it will look GREAT. I did this on mine, and the difference was astonishing.
Your paint is so lovely, having shiny silver wheels will really make a difference.
    Cheers!

Hey! Super glad i ran into your video!, my father and i looking to get our old jensen running again as a family project, getting us to bond.. aha
We wanted to strip the car down and do the job right like you did.
We arent going for that original look like you are, we are going for a more Hot Rod look!,
We are most likly going to fit it with a 1000cc R1 engine and some bigger fat tires, maybe a little lowered too. We want to make it our own little project!, love love to know if you know what parts are compatible for the suspension and maybe brakes and tran
    Thanks!

Looks very nice; just wondering why you installed the automatic rear brake adjuster upside down and on the outside of the backing plate?

That music in the background, is it Bob Dylan?

It's the Swedish band Mando Diao. The version is the MTV-unplugged sessions.
