on an air cooled engine I would have put a fan in front of the top end for several minutes while idling to keep it cool. engines tend to run pretty hot during break in.
I dont mean to be off topic but does someone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot the login password. I would love any tips you can offer me!

Don't listen to these guys, that's a Chinese piston which is probably too tall for the cylinder anyway and loosening will help it quit clacking into the head!!!😂

word of advice a tech told me on soft aluminium you should always use a plastic scraper so it doesn't gouge the soft aluminum and potentially cause a small leak
Although you are following the proper break in steps for a 2 stroke that is still a lot of weight for that little bike to pull,so on the first ride it was probably lugging the engine a little, but it seems like it worked out fine anyway
I think we all would appreciate viewing you wrenching on your machines rather than a WFO run up and down your street. YAWN. More technical videos is what we want. Maybe next vid. huh? Hope you make some profit on the resale. Thanks for the time and effort you invest for us unappreciative bastards. : )
retorque the left side on the head and see if there is a aftermarket exhaust and bore out the inlet in the cylinder. That will make it faster and get more torque
I love my 1984 payed 200 restoring it to like new will sell for $700 you can run these all day mine is a tank I'm 185 pounds cheap parts also fun to make faster street tires, racing pipe is a must jets big bor kit njk hot plug.
You did NOT torque down the nuts on the left side of the bike. You loosend them. And you clearly did not use any assembly lube or oil putting that thing together so the cylinder is must likely scraped from your "compression" check and starting it up dry. And with all of the bikes you are "fixing" you should get your self a real torque wrench, and not that junk. And why dont you have some sheets of gasket material laying around?? In every other video it seems you are trying to save or re use a old gasket(Not good)
@@rageagainstthetoymachine2410 sorry my English is not perfect. Im from Norway. and English is not the easiest languish to write when it is not your spoken language. And you clearly did understand what i was writing, so dont understand why you needed to make a big deal out of it?
@Badass Skeptic Spell check completely changes a word if you hit the wrong key by accident and for those speaking into a phone for auto typing, it get's even crazier.
If you twist the air screw in that makes it run leaner so that’s why it has more torque. Excuse me if I’m wrong but that’s what happens on my nitro powered RC car🤔
cstuned he didn’t even tighten the head bolts and doesn’t even own a compression gauge or a real torque wrench.. what makes you think he checked the ring end gap?
Look man, I love the channel and fact that your out here trying to learn and doing things yourself and that your in to vintage bikes I dig it man👌.. To properly Break a 2 stroke engine in, mix up a rich fuel mix (25- 30:1) to seat the rings go thru atleast 5 ,15 minute sessions of no more than half throttle while not letting the engine lug to much, putt around thru all gears, let it cool until engine is just warm to the touch, then repeat. You are right it indeed needs to go up one on the mainjet, could also try an larger pilot for the low end, or shim\ raise the needle if just adjusting fuel air screw isnt enough to get proper mixture 1/4- 1/2 throttle👊
If you want a higher top speed, you need to change the gearing. You can put a bigger sprocket on the rear which will give you a higher top end speed. You are still delivering the same RPMs but with more torque which can then take different sprockets and increase your top speed or acceleration depending on the sprocket.
You're Right But you see you simply lack knowledge. Your replies, harmless. You, a joke. You see you were never once right in your life but you are continued to believe by everyone else that you’re right. Your name suggests it all, it says I’m right, therefore coming to an educated conclusion that I’m right and you’re wrong. Put some more teeth in that mate and maybe you’ll have a chance of getting something right one day.
You're Right But I’m afraid I have the decency to tell you the honest truth of how you’re wrong. I rode motorbikes for 69 years and I know about gearing. I’m obviously moving at a faster rate than you since your mass is affecting the polarity rotation of the earth, causing global warming and photosynthesis rates to decrease which in turn lowers the Oxygen produced back into our environment. By eliminating the cause, we would all be put in a safer place.
@You're Right But You see, you've never experienced anything on two wheels, simply because you cannot fit on them. didn't oil the cylinder and piston during assembly, didn't change the gas to a heavier oil mixture and didn't touch the bottom end, not the greatest install

I’ve been trying to find one too, from what I’ve found out you can only get a 42mm piston. I think he paid to have the jug machined. Have you found anything since this post?
Why worry about breaking the piston, rings and new cylinder in when the little bike is screaming crying its eyes out you're too heavy to be riding that bike anyway you damage it every time you sit on and ride the poor little Suzuki what the hell
Definitely torqued it loose on the left side of head if your sitting on bike, righty tighty, lefty loosey! Lol

@Kaiser Brett Instablaster ;)
Why were you torquing counterclockwise on the left side?
You need to turn the head bolts clock wise to tighten them

I hope you checked ring end gap. They almost always leave them a little close so you have to file them.
Skipped the install but showed the torque down lol.
Changing the sprocket combination would get the speed your looking for.

No

At least 4 heat cycles and not wring it's neck.
