Candy is probably one of the most iconic idol songs in existence. Little kids learn the song and dance and still perform this in school events. Almost every idol out there right now has performed/sang/danced this song at some point, too.

i think you heard the chorus of candy in the hybe game caterers, they had a whole moment with the song during the random play dance 😂 and yes, it's 1st gen! H.O.T was SM's very first group and one of the first kpop groups overall

H.O.T are SM's first group, their main vocal Kangta is pretty much SM's creative director now. Their song 'Hope' has been covered a couple times the last few years as a SMtown collaboration.

About them:
H.O.T. was the first K-pop Idol group. The whole complex of Idol system now existent, have started with their debut, in '96, under SM Entertainment. The group had 5 members. The positions were different from the ones we have now.
Heejun- leader and lead/sub vocalist
Woohyuk- main dancer
Tony- english rapper
Kangta- main vocalist
Jaewon- main rapper
But since their base was Hip-hop, all of them were great rappers and dancers, as well. And even having Kangta and Heejun as the best vocals, they all have beautiful voices.
Only Kangta and Woohyuk are still active currently as Idols (joining a few 1st gen. Idols as the oldest K-Idols active currently, in their fourtys).
Fun fact: H.O.T. was made to be a group with a "misterious" and heavy vibe/identity, and their base was Hip-hop, so they were against the idea of making "cute" concept (Candy), but the company really wanted to work on it, thinking that their female fans would love it. They almost had a fight with their stylist at that time, because of the costumes. They were disgusted with how cute their outfits were 😅 but it was a HUGE hit and they now actually love it.
One last comment: No, H.O.T. have nothing related to Wiggles 😂 each member had (and still having) their own color.

Woohyuk- blue
Tony- red
Kangta- green
Jaewon- orange (and white)
Their fans are represented by the color white, since they're called "white angels".

Fyi H.O.T member who sing the most in green one is Kangta and still an active singer senior from gen 1 in SM. If you watch SMTown you know him

The name "H.O.T." stands for "High-five Of Teenagers", and is pronounced, actually, "h-o-t".
