To be fair the knives are very dull on purpose (you can tell by looking at the edge; the red tape wrapped around the handles is probably specifically to mark them as being the specific knives for massage) and are basically used as thin metal massage tools that are effectively working the muscles in very narrow sections, going by the light amount of pressure used, rather than trying to tenderize the muscle with a stronger hit, as you'd use with preparing meat for cooking (the backs of knives work wonders for that purpose; tenderizing mallets simply cover a larger area, but end up turning the meat into paste if you're not careful).

It's a luopan ( 羅盤 / 罗盘 )! Might be easier to find as a Feng Shui compass or a geomantic compass if you don't use any variation of Chinese in your search. It's got some interesting history, but if you are interested in the sound it is producing, some people have used it online for that purpose and sound bits are also found in other knife massage videos!

I have a video suggestion that I’ve been wanting for a while. A compilation of all of the diagnoses (when you’re being checked for different conditions, scalp camera, fortune telling, etc.) at the beginning of many of your videos. Those are the parts that are most relaxing to me!
@@McPharosI tried searching using that term (and the pinyin )on YT to no avail, you can try: ‘Chinese fortune telling’ and there are some (also in hong kong and japan etc) however i haven’t found any using the same tapping technique as this video or as high quality. I also happened upon some good “Saju Fortune Telling” videos - South Korean fortune telling that uses nice sounding tools and movements.
For anyone curious, I did a bit of research and I believe the fortune telling shown here is feng shui fortune telling using a luopan. It doesn't seem to be well documented on the english-speaking internet from what I can tell but there's an interesting summary on Wikipedia.

The fortune tellig board is called a feng shut compass, used to find magentic south when setting up a home and to also to calculate all the different ways the things in your house face. Its a tool. Im so curious what the therapist is doing with it though. Are they reading how the needle moves?

For anyone curious, I did a bit of research and I believe the fortune telling shown here is feng shui fortune telling using a luopan. It doesn't seem to be well documented on the english-speaking internet from what I can tell but there's an interesting summary on Wikipedia.
