It’s called a Gibson tuck, very popular in the last war, for factory workers, I think you explained it well.

I tried. Because this was the most easy buns style. And actually works for me after few tries. At the moment I'm in the production of Oklahoma the Musical as a Dancer, Dance Hall Girl, and vocals for the ensemble on soprano 2 and I'm using this hairstyle to dance in the entire 3 hours. It's beautiful, fast, and won't fall out(trust me). I also wanted to say thank you for the hairstyle idea!

All these Hair-do's for "Short" hair - None of the people in the Videos have actual Short hair, it's all medium length. Short hair can't really just be gathered up into a pony tail.
