- As the son of Igor Sikorsky, the inventor of the practical helicopter, Sergei Sikorsky has lived and breathed helicopters. From his father's 1939 VS-300 test flights to his own international career at Sikorsky Aircraft, Sergei Sikorsky watched the helicopter become an indispensable aerial tool for multiple civilian and military applications. Igor Sikorsky's vision of the life-saving helicopter was accurate; however, for every prediction that did not come true, totally-unexpected uses and missions suddenly appeared out of nowhere. As the great Yogi Berra once said, "predictions are very tricky, especially about the future."

Igor's son Nikolai taught me the violin! What a soul! What a total gentleman! He was a great violinist and he was the greatest teacher and mentor a child could wish for.
My grandma worked at the Sikorsky factory in Garden City Long Island in 1929. She was a secretary and only 15. She got a ride in a S-38!

I had the privilege of meeting Sergei Sikorsky yesterday after he toured the Sikorsky facility I work in. It was an amazing experience.

I have invented a way to make an ion thruster that lifts its power supply against Earth's gravity! I did get 2 pro bono patents for it, and there are also about 30 videos of it on my channel. It can't carry much weight though and won't carry a person in its current state, but it does have other valuable purposes. It is very difficult to get any funding.
It was encouraging for me to hear him say that the development of the helicopter was the struggle that it was. Also, many people think it takes a team to invent something valuable. It's nice to hear that Sikorsky supports that it often just takes just one inspired person.

Before Kievan Rus, There was Novgorod and before Novgorod there was a number of other Rus regions. So Kiev or Kyiv (whatever you prefer to call it) isn't the origin of Rus. Also when Sikorsky moved to US he was a Russian, not Ukrainian. Besides his last name is Russian. So when you say "Native Ukrainian", sorry but as a Slavic person, I don't know wtf you're talking about. Ukraine or Ukraina, aka Okraina means "Borderland" and not some made up nonsense that you refer to as "Unity of the Lands."

Sergei Sikorsky on each interview claims his father and himself as Russians. Sergei speak Russian too. He said: ‘One additional thing that I’m Russian - I speak Russian. If Igor’s father and sons are Russians, how Igor is Ukrainian???
P.S.: Ukraine was established as independent state in 1991.

I served the U.S. Army as 15T (Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk mechanic). And at Fort Eustis, VA I went Sikorsky Museum. He described there as Russian designer. Tell my cousins they’re Ukrainians (they were born in 1983 and 1987 in Nikolaev and Kiev). They are Russians.

@@realRainz I'm a Ukrainian who was born in Russia and I do not feel that there is a difference between us. I hate it when people try to divide us because of political reasons.
