The girl in the Mountain Motel story was damned smart-and very lucky....I shudder at what would happen if she wasn't so fussy about the accommodations or the creeps noticed her in the car.

Something about the Pizza driver story just made me really sad, i don't know if it was that the driver was an innocent old lady with stuffed animals, the fact that she was probably thinking about her family in her last moments, and how they wouldn't see her again, or that they were so very young.
FYI, the killer of Grant DePatie (the gas station attendant who was dragged to death), Darnell Darcy Pratt, died in prison in February, 2019 at the age of 30.

Hearing that story about the mom falling down and hitting her head hit me kinda hard because here's what happened to mine about a month ago: for some reason she decided that it would be perfect afternoon to trim their spruce fence even though there was still snow and ice on the ground. I'm not sure how exactly it happened and how long she had to wait for help, but at some point she fell down from the ladders straight on the back of her head and shattered her skull. What's even worse is that the place where she was lying wasn't directly visible from our front door and when my dad came home from work, he didn't see her and since she wasn't inside, thought that maybe she was jogging or something, which would have been perfectly normal. At some point he started to feel a bit worried, though and for some reason decided to look around their yard and found her lying in her own blood and vomit and I can only imagine how it felt to see someone you've known and loved for decades in that state. She was still barely conscious though and could say her name when the ambulance arrived and could move her limbs, so we were still hopeful that maybe she just had concussion and maybe some broken bone since her arm was hanging in weird way. That wasn't the case, though and that was the last time so far that any one of us saw her conscious. The blow that broke her skull had caused massive brain damage and and inflammation that followed swell her brain to the point that part of her skull had to be removed so that her brains wouldn't be crushed. At that point we had to come in terms with the fact that there was almost no hope for survival and even less for any kind of recovery and even if she ever wakes up, there's no telling how much she has lost. Maybe it's hero ability to walk or speak, maybe she's completely different person when she wakes up. After facing all that I suddenly could relate to horror many of the people in these stories felt. Currently the situation isn't completely hopeless and she's showing some signs of possibly waking up, but like the person in that story said, they should grateful that nothing more serious happened because I now have to witness what the alternative could have been. Sometimes the most horrifying events of your life don't require any serial killer or threat some otherworldly being, just a small accident where every piece finds its place in most horrible way. It's crazy but I feel like it would actually be easier it was caused by someone or something because then I would have something to blame and not just accept that my mom, one of the kindest people I've known, is being taken away from me by nothing else than slipperly ladder and frozen earth.

Anecdotes like these make me so distrustful. The world is a dangerous and scary place, especially for young women (even though I'm a 6'2", athletically built young guy.) If I ever have any daughters, I will spare no expense in teaching them self-defense. If they travel alone like the girl in the first story, I will force them to take a gun with them.

Thank you for the entertaining uploads. I have recently become seriously ill and the symptoms cause severe nausea even when just watching TV or playing videogames which are some of my favorite activities, it has something to do with the chemical imbalances caused from the cancer and treatments and it has been such a God send to find your narrative channels that I can listen to stories to help me find a new form of entertainment, without the vertigo type symptoms caused from watching movement. I remember when Mirrors Edge came out, for some reason, people were telling me that it was a sequel or a reboot, something like that of Perfect Dark. So I recently got a PS3 and of course that game was right up on my list of must haves. So upon playing it, a cool game, sure, but Perfect Dark it was not. Thank you for the entertaining uploads. I have recently become seriously ill and the symptoms cause severe nausea even when just watching TV or playing videogames which are some of my favorite activities, it has something to do with the chemical imbalances caused from the cancer and treatments and it has been such a God send to find your narrative channels that I can listen to stories to help me find a new form of entertainment, without the vertigo type symptoms caused from watching movement. Anyway, thank you, I really enjoy your narrative and cadence.

I remember when Mirrors Edge came out, for some reason, people were telling me that it was a sequel or a reboot, something like that of Perfect Dark. So I recently got a PS3 and of course that game was right up on my list of must haves. So upon playing it, a cool game, sure, but Perfect Dark it was not. I was highly disappointed to have thought all these years that it would be.
