I made the mistake of doing my makeup when Princess started introducing her ghost character. I had to wipe off my tears and do my makeup over again from laughing too hard. Worth it.
Princess is unapologetically her and I love it but also Bret’s ready to pull her hair out of frustration lmaooo “maybe if you didn’t have to copy and paste your effing research you wouldn’t have to read big words” LMAOOOOOOO
"you know what's so crazy when i googled white lady..tell me why the google pictures.. it was a white lady, it was actually WHITE ladies " "white lady, yeah gurl" "no, like WHITE ladies" lmaooo i can't stop laughing
I'm only 25 minutes in but y'all have me cracking up 😂 "I'll get pregnant whenever you want me to' "2 extensions in the front " " and princess why are you moaning?" 😂
Omg I haven't laughed so hard in months I think. The Tyanak segment with the Filipino names literally gave me tears in my eyes. Also Kiefer spitting the coffee. I can't!!!! HAHAHA Bretman, your mind is crazyyyyy
I’m Lao/Thai, and we have very similar types of ghosts in our cultures. It’s crazy how these similarities exist, it really makes me believe that the spirits are real.
La Llorona, or "The Weeping Woman," is a prominent figure in Mexican folklore and is often depicted as a ghostly woman who wanders near rivers and lakes, weeping for her lost children. The legend varies across regions, but the core story typically involves a woman who, in a fit of despair, drowns her children and then, regretting her actions, takes her own life. After her death, she is said to roam the earth, searching for her children and mourning their loss. Her cries can be heard echoing in the night, and she is often portrayed as a warning to children to stay away from water or to be cautious of their behavior.
actually for the tiyanak, it is said that those are some babies that died during birth that werent baptized (?) and given any names. like that way, they get taken by a d word. thats why when a baby is stillbirth, a priest should still baptize the baby and make sure it has a name to make sure no evil entities can get near them and their souls may rest
When I was a kid, I had a little dwende buddy who rocked a stylish blue hat. My parents would jam to the guitar music he'd play-it was like having a tiny musician in the house! He even had a wife, but of course, it was the husband who was my pal. Then one day, poof-he vanished as I grew up. I sometimes wonder where my tiny blue-hat-wearing friend is now. I hope he's out there somewhere, living his best magical life!
My bruja story from my culture is Mal de Ojo. I grew up catholic and my distant ancestors are from mexico and i live in texas so i consider myself tejano (texmex). Growing up my grandmother believed if we got sick or something bad was happening to us we were cursed with Mal de Ojo (which is the evil eye). The “cure” would be to rub an egg on our skin while praying and break it into a glass and keep it under your bed. My mother swears that one night when my brother was a baby and he was having seizures, the egg came out BLOOD red. Which is supposes to mean you are cursed 😰. Who would curse an innocent baby, i have NO CLUE!! Even tho i’m 26 i can still feel the cold egg my grandmother would rub on my skin as a young child. I miss her so much she was such a wonderful catholic woman who cared about everyone. I feel that latin catholicism is rooted in brujeria (witchcraft) and we’ve lost some of those roots but i am working on bringing it back into my life. ❤ Love the podcast you guys, my favorite episodes are when all three of yall are on!! I stg yall are gonna make Princess go into early labor with all these spooky stories 😂😂
It's always a treat when people talk about Philippine folklore and I'm always down for it, but at the same time, I want to hear some of the most obscure local stories that we have, because trust me, those are waaaaaaaaayy spookier than the most well-known Aswangs or creatures in PH folklore.
If you understand tagalog, go give Sitio Bangungot a listen here on youtube. It’s a podcast where someone narrates user submitted paranormal stories. I learned a lot different types of entities, local folklore, and superstitions from them
What’s scary abt dwendes and kapres is that some say when they become very fond of someone they abduct them and bring them to their place/kingdom and that they’ll never be able to come back. Then their physical body becomes very sick. Some say that when this happens never taste/eat their food
I waited patiently throughout the day for the newest episodes to be released. Despite the late hours here in Norway, I will watch it before i go to bed. ily guys
love this trio !! but omg when bret was talking about the manananggal from the philliphines/folklore, it reminds me so much of the spirit from southeast asian folklore, for me specifically cambodian and thai. there’s this lady spirit called “ ahp or krasue” she’s sort of like a vampire since she hunts at night. but the scary thing is that in the daytime she’s a regular usually beautiful person but at night she hunts for food sometimes for pregnant women or babies, but lays down and her body is split in half sort of, her head detaches from her body and she flies around with just her head and her organs and everything just hanging. it’s believe that those ( women ) who perform black magic or practices it usually become it. so freaking creeepy
Hello Bret, Miss Kay, and Princess!! Since you guys asked us to, I wanted to share with y’all a little about one of the most prominent spirits/ghost in my culture. I’m Hmong and in our culture, there have been many stories of Poj Ntxoog (paw-zong) encounters in the jungles of Laos back in the old days. Poj Ntxoog are spirits that appear as little girls with long, unkept hair. Their feet are pointed backwards and their eyes are vertical with their eyelids closing from the sides. They live in the dense jungles of Laos and are usually associated with tigers (which are also seen as evil beings in our culture). Poj Ntxoog are basically lost souls of little Hmong girls. They are tricksters and like to tease human beings and scare them. If they target you, they are capable of kidnapping your soul. If you ever come across one, make sure you have an egg with you because they’re obsessed with eggs. But if they somehow were able to capture your soul, the only way to save yourself is to seek out a Hmong shaman to perform a ritual to go and retrieve your soul back. Anyway that’s all I know about Poj Ntxoog lol. If you guys want to hear stories about them, there are a few online if you look into it enough. But I love the videos and any content y’all have! You guys are hilarious! 🫶
speaking of duwende, my mom have always had her third eye opened. She always told us a story of how back in her teenage years, this will most likely be around the 70's in the province, she used to live w her aunts. one midnight, at around 3 am, she woke up and wanted to use the restroom. She realized that she could not move her body and not get up. She looked around and she saw that duwendes were playing on top of her body. Like they were being playful w each other and didn't realize she woke up and she just felt paralyzed the entire time. It was Sunday and Sunday mass can start really early in the morning, like 4-5 am. Her aunts tried to make her get up so they can go to church but she was not moving so they just thought she needs more sleep and wants to pass this one time going to church and they left without her. By this time, the duwendes were already gone and when the aunts came back home, she's literally still in the same position. The room was still dark and they got worried so they opened the window which actually let the sunlight pass through to her body and then she was able to move suddenly. my mom has a lot of spooky stories but that's what I would always remember because for some odd tradition, every time we celebrate new year and the 12 midnight noise has gone down, our family tells each ghost/creepy stories we experienced lol and also, they said if you were ever taken or visited by duwende in your dreams, they sometimes make you choose between gold and fruit, and you're supposed to pick fruit because picking gold means you are greedy and you lose the chance of them showering you with fortune.
Thanks for the laughs and the spookie ookie Thursday stories. Congratulations on earning your well-deserved TH-cam plaque for reaching 100,000 subscribers.
As soon as I start laughing and trying to hold it together I remember why I can’t watch this at work 😂😂😂 and why I end up finishing it at home 23:22 PRINCESS 😂😂😂 talk voice I could not handle Bret’s commentary I agree 🙂↕️

In Mexico we also have duendes. If you gift them things they will give you things back. Sometimes they take care of places like gardens/land/houses. Just has to be with good intentions and gifting them things. As well as respecting them. But In my Mexico house in Guanajuato we had one once in my uncle's room but truly he was evil. No one had summoned him. He moved my uncle's things around and smiled so evil to him. Woke him up by laughing and pulling his sheets. Moved his toys/items around. We had to put holy water and throw away some furniture. He would wake everyone up with his screams. We haven't seen it ever since hope to never.

Hi trio!! It rody from Malaysia well specifically Kota Kinabalu Sabah. I think we have the same ghost but different name. Mananangal in my country carry the name Balan-Balan. It doesn’t have any wings, it sorts of just floating at night, easy to spot them cause they have fire on them when they fly around the neighbourhood. They also hunt the same thing and also die when exposed to the sun. My nephew did see one in our neighbourhood during midnight 1am-2am ish. So ya.. thats just it..
