[𝘿𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙝 𝙀𝙧𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙨] narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you something by means of which Allaah erases sins and raises people in status?" They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allaah. He said: "Doing wudoo' properly at times when it is difficult to do so, taking many steps to the mosque, and waiting for prayer after prayer. That is constant readiness." Narrated by Muslim, 251.
Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “whoever sends blessings upon me, Allah will send blessings upon him tenfold”. Narrated by Muslim (384). Allahumma Salli wa sallim ala nabiyyina Mohammad
Narrated Ibn `Abbas (RA): The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "There are two blessings that many people are deceived into losing: health and free time." (Sahih al-Bukhari 6412, Book 81, Hadith 1)

The quraish was so blinded by rage that they really took the words "they will not harm or benefit you" into something like "leave the idols, you fools". Even at that time, there's losing the context of the word, Allahu.
Yes, if they contain haram elements such as music, nudity, sorcery, etc. Nowadays, you won't find almost any movies without these elements. So in general we can say that movies are haram.
