Hey Derek! Awesome finds that Sharon Tandy song is a banger!! Damian! Another great find record looks clean on my phone 😂 Glad to hear you’re doing well! Take care Brian ☮️
Here in the U.K., "Hold On" was released as an A-side 45, with the killer "Daughter Of The Sun" on the B. Rupert's People also covered "Hold On" on their debut 45.
@@PsycheDerek. Yer right Derek. I forgot about them! I also have a version by the 90's U.K. band, The Aardvarks, who were into 60's "mod/beat" music, in a Small Faces/Kinks style. Check 'em out on TH-cam.
Great to see you're doing better. Check out the Ipsissimus version of "Hold On". As far as I know it was their only single, but the first time I heard it, I was hooked. It's now one of my favorites from that era. It's on the "Insane Times: 25 British Psychedelic Artefacts" compilation. A mind-blower.
Other great Sharon Tandy songs are ‘Gotta get enough time’ & ‘Daughter of the sun’ both backed by Les Fleur de Lys Really like that Demian album and is a longtime fave That IGL comp is good and quite consistent
If I had seen that Sharon Tandy in the bin, I would have blown right by it. I sold my WLP Demian many years ago. Why? Not psych rock. Alright album though. Glad you're doing well. 👍
Congrats on the successful surgery! Just make sure you dilate your new man purse on a daily basis, or it'll close in on itself. Regarding Demian, quality from front to back, just like Bubble Puppy.
Alas I did have a wlp of Demian but decided to move it. I dug it but worth more money than makes sense for me to keep. Yes the Sharon Tandy song is killer as others have said! Rarely see that Rare Earth though it just makes me think of Parachute by the Pretty Things on the label. How about all those Pretty Things comments lol!
I heart rare earth! Very funky more than expected, also found Toe Fat last summer. Nice copy of Music Machine I also have an OG, how do you feel about Love Sculpture Forms & Feelings?
Les Fleur de Lys released a handful of fantastic 45s. Jimmy Page produced the 45 'circles'. Bryn Hayworth was the guitar player on the said 45 - and was Sharon's partner at that time. As far as I am aware Sharan never dated Jimmy Page. The link with Jimmy is with the production on an earlier 45, as mentioned. Also check out Rupert's People who also recorded the said 45 at the same time. Both Les Fleur De Lys and Ruper's People have had records released which put together all of their releases. Essential listening. Whilst I am here; can I recommend a compilation series called Le Beat Bespoke. All compiled by Rob Bailey.
I guess I had the impression or have read somewhere that Jimmy had a thing for Sharon. I had actually heard of the Rupert's People single too. I will check out the Le Beat Bespoke!
@@PsycheDerek.The Le Beat Bespoke series (10 so far), covers the 45s that fill the Psych dance floors around Europe. Rob Bailey is the Head of an organisation called The New Untouchables that puts on underground music events - which started in 1992. Rob is recognised as having one of, if not the best collections of rare 45s. I was one of Rob Bailey's DJ'S for many years & also put on my own Psychedelic events under the name of The Perfumed Garden Of Musical Delights for many years. I have been watching you on YT for a good few years and really enjoy your show. BTW. Good luck with your recovery. Pete.
Great finds Derek, glad your surgery went well and you're recovering nicely, now put on some Demian and turn it up loud, nice find for $40, I got my promo copy way back when they were still cheap as well, I need to check out the Scavengers , Cheers Brother ✌
Didn't know the Sharon Tandy 45 but sounds great! ...I used to have a pile of that Demian LP - used to find them in the budget bins cheap, then Square Deal Distributors set me a catalogue with them listed so I bought another quantity for $1.99 ea... That 1st Rare Earth LP is great too! Had the "Land Of Nod" 45 on MGM... My friend Erik compiled that IGL comp - it's a classic! ... I found some fantastic LPs in the wild yesterday (Monday) on a thrift-store "crawl" including a legit grail, "Electronic Music" by The Electrosoniks on Philips (1962) in EX condition - a huge WOW costing me only $2.30 + tax! 😵💫

And apparently Ipsissimus. They've got a wild version too.

Nice, I wasn't familiar with the Ipsissimus version. Only the Rupert's People & Sharon's. Tasty solo!
Thanks Derek. I am listening to the TH-cam version of that IGL comp, now. - Chris
I am glad you are doing better!
I love that Demian album. I found it in a garage sale years ago

I have a reissue of the Demian. Love Bubble Puppy.
I knew that was Sharon Tandy after the first second ❤
Lisa Sarna was actually in Rick James' backing band "Stone City Band" She actually sang on most of his albums past 1979 including Teena Marie's debut.

Steven Tyler sang backup in The Left Banke
Yes, I knew that. And a few other backup vocals for NYC based groups/artists.
Top notch pick ups. I have the same copy of Demian. I paid more than that though. Peace ✌ ☮ 🕊

@@PsycheDerek. holy moly, that was some great grammar, I had to fix that mess lol,
Great job!!
Check out Generation by Rare Earth its a soundtrack that was supposed to come out in 1969 and now it finally got a release in 2020
I forgot to mention Generation, but hadn't got around to it yet. Will do!
Glad you are doing well after surgery. Take it easy!
Glad to hear you are doing good after the surgery.

I figured you knew about the IGL comp haha. I'll have to seek the Garage Rock one next perhaps.
Hey Bill, I picked up a cool garage 45 today. It's on Psychedelic Unknowns vol. 5. NOT a psych song though! Shame on you Billy!
