    Deep Space Directive is 4x-lite game with tower defense and RTS mechanics and a focus on resource management. It's low poly art is created in Blender and the game is built with the Unity game engine and C#. Could I put in more good search terms? Probably!

    Talking about Water Pump and Solar panels. I heard you came up with an idea, BUT as I was thinking about it, honestly don't play much RTS games.
    BUT why force the player to choose. Let them place the pump on the solar panel and that picks up the solar panel and they can place it somewhere else. Or move buildings.
    It fits in with a sci-fi theme, and what not.
    SURE, you can get into moving buildings for other reasons, blocking or staving off enemies, but it's another simple solution.

      I like that! Would be very easy to implement given what's already in the project.
      I'm going to give it some thought. I'm not sure its the perfect fit as it would would make for one more thing to communicate to the player early in the game, but could be an interesting extra dimension to the game play!! It's going on the list of ideas. Much appreciated!

      I was also thinking along those lines. Why not allow the player to destroy / decommission a building and refund (x percent) of its resource cost so that they can rebuild it somewhere else without too much of a punishment and open up that spot for the building that needs to be there.

      That’s exactly how it’s working right now. Destroy a building and collectible resources drop without much or any penalty to the player.
      BTW the demos out on Steam 🙂

    HAHA! This is amazing! The project really is coming together nicely, I love the idea of having to ship the resources off-world.
    I do not have the experience to know this, but would people be able to give more feedback if you didn't monetize the current build? I know it sounds crazy, but I have a hard time seeing all of the progress with TH-cam videos alone. Hopefully more people show up for the live-stream tommorrow!

      Thanks! It is coming along. The goal is to have a free demo on Steam - but there’s a lot to do between now and then 😅

    Hey so I just came back to find your live stream, but it wasn't there. Making the videos findable would probably add to your viewership! I really wanted to see that :(

      Making live streams public after the stream doesn’t do good things for the YT algorithm 🥲 But if you go to the channel homepage and then to playlists you can find two playlists. “Live streams” and “Deep Space Directive - Live Streams.” The stream will always be in one or both of these playlists.
