Wanted to thank you for this video. The arm rest on the left side of my permobil m3 came undone last night and your detailed explanation help me resolve the issue
Dan, being a CRT Tech and an ATP in training, I absolutely love your videos and applaud the dedication to your content. Please, keep doing this as long as you can!
I just wanted to say thank you so much for making these videos they're very helpful especially from the perspective of someone with a disability trying to fix their own stuff. Also, I clicked on the link to the website and I am especially excited for the idea of dimming stickers for those migraine-inducing green ICS lights....
Excellent, as a new F3 owner, I purchased one on the Marketplace whose owner passed away, and I have to make adjustments to accommodate me, and learning how it's done is most beneficial. He was a double-leg amputee, so I've already ordered the footrest assembly off ebay, so my legs won't have to dangle. Despite my infirmities, I like to do my own maintenance and adjustments as much as possible. It was a deal hard to pass up at $400.
just make sure if the chair is going to be sitting un-used for a week or more, to turn off the circuit breaker on the back to preserve the batteries :^)
Very nice instruction video. The more recent arm rest width adjustment mechanism is the same design as a bicycle handlebar neck expansion bolt...simple but brilliant. The orientation of the spring washers is important. If you forger how they orient, the online manual illustration shows how. Personally, I take photos with my cell phone of how parts are stacked before and during disassembly so I can refer to the photos when reassembling. If you tighten the set screws too tight on the old style mechanism, it will dimple the adjustment shaft, making it extremely difficult to move. If only one side is stuck, remove the opposite side shaft and use a wooden dowel and hammer to gently tap the stuck shaft out. Repair the dimpled shaft with a fine file and a emery cloth.
I thought of my first bicycle when I saw the new design. It is a better design and it allows infinite adjustment where the old design was intended for 1" increments. I have to give Permobil a thumbs up on using this design for the width adjustment.
Sweet that is almost like my chair except I don’t have the lift but all my function are done through the joystick it’s the same one lynx tilt recline legs lift and I have a key and mine has to be done by a iPhone have a good one thanks for all ur help
Yay Dan, so glad you have that Invacare TDX SP2 in your collection now. Rhiannon and I both have one of those, 2020 models, so we are really keen to see what we can learn from you.
I think I have an easy question. Not sure you have addressed in videos. Do you know how to tighten or loosen the armrest, in terms of rotating up and down? My armrest has gotten so loose that when I put it up to transfer, it falls right back down. Especially the side that has the weight of the joystick module on it. I just don’t want to have to call my DME repair place, if its easy to fix. Thanks
I want the long bolt for f3 permobile armrest and your armrest you have on yours, can I get the armrest from monster scooter, and the bolt I tried to get from Numotion and they couldn’t get it done and they made me go see my doctor and get a prescription for a bolt. That’s not right!!
Was curious if you know the max height the armrests will go on the new style (2022) permobile m3 corpus. My adjustment stopped me with about 2" more room at top of the slide grooves. Adjustment screw is real tight and didn't want to push it any further but I need that couple more inches of height.
if you want to setup the arm rests higher, or lower than the adjustment on the back of the chair allows, you can adjust the pivot plates on the side of the arm rests near where they mount to the back assembly. you'll see a curved slot that allows for the angle of the arm rest to be adjusted.. slightly loosen the front bolt, and remove the rear bolt, then re attach is into the curved adjustment slot. if you then point the arm rest upwards, it can be leveled back out by adjusting the turnbuckles in the back, and gain a net increase in arm rest height :^)
Sorry to bother you Dan! I'm trying to get the best for me!!! A jazzy 1450 or a hoveround teknique hd6 which is a better heavy duty as in motors and such? I'm 6'4 and 500lbs!!! Thank you if you could give me your opinion even other chairs of your choice! Thank you
I have a recent ( less than 5 years old) Quantum J 6 and need to widen the armrests and I would like to know which programmer to use. My Pride/Trident programmer does not work. Is it q logic or lynx maybe?
that's the connect module - its what relays information back to the my permobil app. they claim the light shouldn't blink constantly- but it was doing the same on my chair, and i ended up removing it.
3g seating is essentially the same on any chair that uses it - the only differences are on the back of the chair. but the service manuals are linked on the website in video description if ya wanna look up specifics :^)
Interesting how there are changes with the armrest setup. Do you think there's a difference between the 2015 F3 that I just recently retired from after picking up my brand new 2021 F3? PS I didn't know the M300 in this video came with the CJSM2 updated R-net controller. Did you install that?
I've commented in the past and subbed. I never got any reply . I need to try again . I'm a stay at home dad with back problem. I live way away from a city . I have a jazzy select elite. I live in the country, dirt roads dirt driveway. Rugged . This chair outside the house wont move. Tires are slick. Small. Main issue is batteries wont charge . I cant afford them . I've asked for help . None. Can I revive them ? Can I hook up a car battery? I have to keep moving . Has to be somthing ? . I cut the rubber tread off an old 4 wheeler , kids type. The tread is just a little bigger than the jazzy stock slick tires I can slip it over them but it wiggles so not a tight fit . Thinkin sprayfoam to fill in . Just hope it centers or I will have one hell of a wobble and especially on both tires wobbling in different directions . Rattle my teeth out . Anyway I hope you can help me with my issues... I'm in Texas
there are a LOT of comments that come thru - not always possible to see them all :^) best way to contact is with a DM on twitter, or using the contact form on the website (link in video description) last one i see from ya was 2 months ago.. but best thing to do is get the batteries out of the chair, and check the voltage on them after they have been sitting overnight, disconnected from everything. then ya might be able to tell what kinda shape they're in. they charge in series, so when one battery gets weak, it can over/undercharge them. but usually by this time they need replacing
Thanks!

Thank You Sit!
Dan, your TH-cam channel and website are such useful resources for wheelchair users.

@@TotallyNormal- right, as pricy as the batteries are, I definitely want them to last as long as possible.
Thank you so much, this made adjusting my dad's chair a breeze. Made sure not to over loosen the bolt so we didn't have to rebuild everything.
Thanks Dan!
it is what holds the handlebar stem on a bike very simple .
yup...bicycle 'gooseneck' not a new way but a more 'keep it simple stupid.' i got flashbacks of fixing my bmx bicycle. lol take care!
That is like the handlebar stem on many bicycles, they have that wedge that spreads and locks it in place like that.
It's exactly what I use. The tdx sp2. Can you make a video on how to install the fenders and arm rest.

Very interesting
Dan, thank you for the excellent video. Could you tell me where I could obtain those narrow armrests like you have installed to fit my 2022 M3?

Hi Dan, how to change Ivacari batteries without power to elevate the legs, to access the compartment without power?
we'll look into it on the new invacare!

Bro why is there a flashing light on the rear of the permobil m3 corpus when the chair turn off and how to turn it off the flashing light
that's the connect module - its what relays information back to the my permobil app. they claim the light shouldn't blink constantly- but it was doing the same on my chair, and i ended up removing it.
@Totally Normal oh I see okay bro then what permobil app does
Can the permobil 3m corpus do that? #adjust shorter armrest

I'm pretty sure it's different on your newest F3. Just compare the backs like Dan showed in the video.
It will be different. All the newer chairs with Corpus seating have the same adjustment system.
That’s the Chair I have

Yeah it turned out to be pretty simple once I realised they'd changed the adjustment mechanism on the newer M5.
😁😎😁
