Much appreciated Mark, that intro lick has been a mystery to me for years!!!
Mark, thank you so much for nailing this song! It's a joy to play.
Thank you very Much It is a lot of joy to play.
Wow..good stuff...don't know how his amp.and what pedals he's using..sounds great..fantastic job..
I always thought that famous riff at the beginning was played on a pedal steel guitar. I learn something new everyday.
It is a pedal steel
Elvin bishop played it on slide
Excellent song. Excellent rendition. Brings back some good memories. Thank you.
Thank You very much I love this song too.
best music ever brings me back a lot of members

Thank you for taking the time to make a crystal clear lesson for all of us!
The bonus was the info on gear and set up! Thanks again!
I was watching "Guardians Of the Galaxy" when this song came on his walkman and I thought how I would love to learn how to play it.
You made that possible!
Best of luck out there!
Archtops Hey Thank you. Guardians of the Galaxy is a Great Movie love the songs in that too. Glad you like the lesson and best of luck with learning it. Best of luck Enjoy the music.
Perfect great effin job.,

This is a really great lesson- and your playing is awesome. Thanks!
I thank You for your kind words and I love this song. My passion to share it brings me joy when all the people like you reach out to me about it. Rock On.
I see you made this 10 years ago, but it still rocks and resonates! Thanks!
nice to see the tab very well ..great tone and great playing mark thank you!
Thank You Very Much Enjoy
Really nice breakdown of this great Elvin Bishop song. You do such a good job of showing how it should be done. It would be nice if you could tell us about your set-up . There's no way I could duplicate your tone with my set up, and I have a nice PRS amp and a Telecaster with humbuckers and coil tap options ( plus around 30 effects pedals ) . I always thought Bishop used a synthesizer for the intro.
Lol The Last half of the Video is all about my Gear and setup. Details of Equipment used and all the settings in the the Patches used that I made for each part of the song. The Gear is all outdated now. But it is in the last part of the video. Thank You so very much for your kind words. I honestly do not know what Gear Elvin used I just made my Patches to match his sound the best I could.
Very well played...solo portion...that was spectacularly well played...thank you
Your Welcome and Thank You for the kind words.
Mickey Thomas' job on this tune is classic. I love this tune. Want to play it with the musician buddies but who the eff is going to sing it? Right---its a hard one. Sorry for the digression---Mark you really sound terrific and what a beautiful lesson and your tone terrific---GREAT!!!! if I may ask is that an Ibanez, yamaha......
Your so right it would take a Awesome singer to sing this song lol Yes The Guitar was a IBANEZ AM93 I agree. My tone for this was a darn good tone patch I made for this song. Thanks for talking with me ROCK ON.
Great job Mark, great song and super performance, spot on!
Thank You Matthew That's so Kind :)
Awesome job! God, I wish I could play like that.
Not only did I have trouble finding the original CD this song was on, I finally downloaded it. I'd worn the album out to bad to record it and I wanted the whole thing. Then trying to learn it was a whole other joy to deal with. No accurate tab I could find. I had the basic chords but I didn't want to get sick of it trying to learn it. So thanks for your trouble in doing it and even putting a nice video together, and yes I can easily tell you are actually playing it. I mean that in a good way. There's a little difference in tone, reverb, etc. from what I can tell just seeing it once. Good job. I did the "like" thing and subscribed. It's the least I could do. Really
Man Thanks I've been away for a long time from posting and I never ask or pimp people to hit the like button I'm honored you did. I'm also honored you Subscribed I need a better Video Camera to record. Thanks for the Kind words. I'm Glad you can tell I am playing along with the Song. My Goal was to make that obvious and only a few people have asked not sure It's me but it is. I try to match the tone best as I can. I felt I got this one very well. You have a good Ear. Thanks enjoy and Jam out. I love this Song
Damn good! Spot on. Others make it more difficult than it is.
Very Cool ! Thanks for sharing !
You are so Welcome glad you liked it.
How did you get the effects in the beginning of the song?
In the Video at 5:40 the Intro tone Patch I made is given using the gear and software that is now outdated but still out there. It's all made with Line 6 Gear and I show all the settings with the gear used.
That guitar is beautiful
It was a good guitar Thank You.
Awesome man! After watching you, I'm really getting the hang of the solo. Feels Great! Thank you...
I thank you I love it when people share thoughts like this. Thank You So much. It does Feel Great when you play that Solo. Awesome.
Awesome!! Best version on youtube.
Thank You. Rock On it's a Fun Song to play
Sounds great dude! Thanks for the tab. Beautiful guitar.
You're so welcome Thank You
Well done, and nice tone too. After too many Fenders, I need a Gibson scale length HH guitar and I've been trying to decide between an AM93 in Antique Yellow like yours and an SG. After watching this vid I may have to go with Ibanez! Yours looks terrific and tone is spot on. How is the playability?
Sorry it took me this long to reply This guitar is nice but It is not IMO a grate guitar, Go with the SG I have 2 SG's and That is the way to go. This Ibanez has been dumped to the retirement ben after most all of the Fret markers fell out. That's right they started falling out at the same time about year 3.
Where ya been? I have this video in a list and practice to it all the time....but it was unavailable for awhile. Good to see you back!
TH-cam Tried to Punish me for my Free Speech and I would Not agree to their message so I told them They didn't have anything I needed and removed all my old small time videos to Private and at the New Year it looked like I was off the Band list so I came back. Sorry for doing this to you. Thank You for your Kind Words. Hope you are doing well with your Playing and Please Forgive me for going off line.
Beautiful sound. Very sweet. Congratulations this tuto is useful.
Thank You have fun
Solid version...beautiful guitar: thank you, brutha.
Awesome. Love the warm tone.
Awesome! Thanks for the lesson. You rock, my man. Happy holidays.
Happy Holidays to you too Thank you.
Fantastic man! Great lesson
Thank You Love your Name :)
Really great!! Nice lesson Thanks!!
Enjoy Thank You
Great work, thx mate. I will now grab my guitar and give it a try.
Awesome Thank You
Great cover man. Can't get enough of this tune at the moment. Cool tab overlay too. What amp setting are you using here, Crunch with a reverb?
Simon Kaye My amp is always set on clean but this as all my stuff is patch driven with the Pod XT Live. At the end of the video I show the setting for all 3 tone patches this video was recorder with a computer so no amp used to make the videos.
That was awesome. Trying to figure out the song on acoustic. Thanks man. really cool to see how it's done
Mark, Thanks for sharing the gearbox settings and your cover of this classic. I need to learn this one. Regards, Mark from NJ
Thanks for dropping by and best of luck Thanks for the kind words.
What guitar are you playing in this? Great Video Mark. Thank You
@5:00 In the Video I Give all the Gear and Settings. @5:30 In the Video I Give the Guitar Info it is a Ibanez AM93 Sad to say The quality of the Guitar I had was flawed and every Inlay in the Neck fell out from the glue letting go all at the same time within a month of the 1st all were out. I loved this Guitar but it is not a well made, I have never had a Guitar do this to me.
Great tutorial dude! Thanks for putting it together!
Your so welcome Enjoy it as much as I do It's a Fun Song to play.
Great job, how are you getting that sustain on the solo in the beginning? I'm having a hard time creating that sound...
Ooh pretty guitar what kind is that.
Ibanez AM93
Hi Mark,
Nicely played and outstanding setup. At 8.47 you start explaining the setup for the lead tone.
Silly Q. mayby?, but tone you initial used and then modified?
Thanks
No I made all of them from the start for this song and it took forever to do I must of tweak each one for a good year before getting what I could listen to and feel like it was good enough for me to be happy with. I have to say I still love the Pod XT Live and I have the newer ones too but I am still using the old one. Thank You If I didn't understand your Question right let me know.
Thanks Mark, and keep up the good music
Good job. Thank you for making this video.
Thank you enjoy and have fun I did making it Jam out have fun
Very impressive and well done.

Awesome ...
LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!! Thank you.
Your welcome
Dude! Thanks for a great vid man, you are GREAT!
+alexander Kato Thanks I'm Glad you like it. Lol I'm not that good of a guitar Player. I love this song so I worked hard to play it. I made this lesson for others that may love it to. It is not a note for note lesson. It is how I play it at this time in my Guitar Life. I am Happy You like it. Play it Learn it. Jam to it. Your going to love it. It's not that hard as long as you keep at it. I DID IT You can to. Jam On
+MarksGuitarLounge Hey there! Yes, you are a great player a because you have a great ear and I learned this song when I was 15 years old and giggin and it was my ear that made me a natural without ready tabs and such. I can hear by your lesson and how you played it that you have the same gift as I. I did get into music theory in high school but it is my ear that always wins over, that was a long long time ago now and I play the guitar for my own enjoyment and gig out very rarely with respect to invitations from bands who call me out when they're giggin. Remember, play it with felling! peace out! Kato
Thanks, sir. You're a good sport.
Thank You :) I try to be.
Gonna get out the 63 Gretch 6120 Nashville and revisit this great tune . Havent played in yrs.
Dan : Thank You and I've got a big smile on my face thanks to your comment 63 Gretch 6120 What a Joy.

@@danmurphy7713 So very nice to share with you. I have been like you in that I have had other life changes and have not been playing or making video lessons or covers for the last 6 or 7 years not a lot of playing but I do play off and on at times. Thanks for dropping by and I enjoy your story so Thank You for that. I will share this. I love Line6 Gear Got a lot of it. Tone Patches are so much fun to make with Line6. I just wish we had the WWW and TH-cam in our youth. I would of still got in trouble but just different trouble Lol. ROCK ON.
But all stupidity aside thanks man for the tab. No one else wrote the intro down.
Your Welcome
great job bro! nice guitar too! thanks for posting this...i've been looking for this song. thank you.
Thank You
Nice job👍👌🎸🇺🇸😎
Thank you John 🎸🔊🎙
Very cool!!
What a pretty guitar!
It was for a mid level Guitar (Till all the Fret Markers fell out of their holes) All fell out at the same time it was the queerest Guitar issue I have ever had in my life time. I played it one day just fine, the next day every Fret Marker just fell out its hole. It's like the glue was on a timer and DING done!!
@@MarksGuitarLounge that's like something that would happen in a Scooby-Doo cartoon : )
@@mrmeowcomeshome1300 Lol True
Love your tone. Nice job. Thanks.
Thank You
You did as good/better than the radio version! Thanks for posting. I wish that I could still play. I had a '64 Strat in sunburst. Guitar and use of my left hand is gone.
Man Thank You very much it don't get any better then that.
in that 5x5555, it looks like you're blocking all strings. How do you avoid playing the A?
My Middle finger on the low E string mutes the A string so it's dead
Exceptional!
Sweet guitar
AMAZING!
one word, awesome
Thank you
Nice job! Thanks!
Really good. thanks a lot. Isn't the 9th note of the intro a G though?
I was not sure about that because it almost sounded to me like that note was hit by 2 guitars differently so i picked one but you could go there too.
Nailed it 👍
great lesson
I have a Fender Mustang I amp and a vintage Ibanez TS Turbo Deluxe Tube Screamer (which I'm unsure of whether it even works or not). Can I achieve the tone of this song?
It Don't matter just use a cleaner sound with some reverb and add little dirt for the lead it will be okay. Good Luck and Enjoy
MarksGuitarLounge Thx Mark.
Beautiful
Nice rig ,great tone!
Nicely done, indeed. You should have a hell of a lot more subs than you do. I'll try to spread the word.
Hey man I like what you've done. Great job.
Thank You have fun with it Rock On
can you tell me if this can be done on acoustic guitar? cuz my electric has a broken string right now but i really wanna jam this. i just wanna know if its even worth trying on acoustic?
I don't see why not when it comes to the cords only but like anything it would depend on your guitar. I think it might be harder if the strings set high but go for it it should work. This Guy reached out to one day he plays it on acoustic guitar check him out @ th-cam.com/video/BzSSXJzjUa0/w-d-xo.html
Actually, I saw an Elvin Bishop interview years ago and he said he wrote this song on an Epiphone acoustic.
That's a Very Cool fact.
Maestro
Fantastic pal! About to learn this one with my band for upcoming show
Awesome Best of Luck Rock on
AWESOME ! Thanks for posting this !
Great Job Mark !!!!!
great job man love that song 😊
Hi, Love The Song, Can You Tell Me The Second Chord In This Song After f Major.....In A Book I Got It Says AM.........Good Job On This Song........Johnny Montreal Canada....
+Kordis john
The chord is an Am7.
1, b3, 5, b7 intervals of the Am scale.
A, C, E, G respectively.
Great video!
I found this song from listening to the Winery Dogs version.
If you use Courier New font, it's a lot better for reading tabs. It makes each character take up the same amount of space so everything will be aligned more accurately.
Ha, me too - Unreal version that is!!!
great job perfect
Thank You very much
Right on Brother!
I literally clicked on this to see tabs got the solo
Awesome, Awesome, AWESOME THANK YOU :-D
Where can I download the entire tab?
In the opening tab you play C A F, C C A E, C A Eb, Bb C D bend to Eb back to D, On the record the third chord is Eb and the high notes being played are C G Eb not C A Eb. Just a heads up.
+Dave Levine Thank you for the heads up I can hear it and was not sure if it was an organ or 2 guitars I picked one way of doing it for myself. I've been asked about this before and was never sure what the right way was. Thank you
Very nice, thanks. Love this song. I might have to drop the key for my voice though, that Mickey really sings high, ha. You sound great on that gee-tar also!
Thanks Nealix D. Mickey has a Great Voice. I only wish I could Sing at all. Thank You Sir Jam On.
