Really like this.
Not a fan of dnf, but this song does have some really good looks into Dreams mind.
Especially the part about points of view. Dream has always been defined by his image and reputation.
When he had George, Sapnap, Callahan, the whole server respecting him, then he was respectable.
When his half of the server saw him as a hero and leader during the war for Lbergs independence, then he was a hero leading his forces against a criminal insurrection.
When Wilburs propaganda convinced all of the new members that Dream was a tyrant, he was a tyrant.
When Tommy told the rest of the server that Dream was an evil villain, then he was the bad guy of the server.
Even though through all of that time he has never changed goals, he is the only person on the server to never waiver in the cause he fought for.
Methods, boundaries, Dreams own idea of what he is, have changed with his image even as the goal stayed the same.
all of this is very true
I’ve always been on Dreams characters side. Anyone who bothered to think about Dreams point of view would know my reasoning.
Because when you look at Dreams view, he’s tried so hard to help make the server better, but Tommy and others kept his goal of peace and unity on the server away from him. That’s why I support Dream, he’s a good person, turned into a monster because of himself. He went to the lengths of pushing everything and everyone away from him so he could make peace on the server. And his thanks for turning himself into a sociopath. (someone who almost completely lacks empathy for anything)
Not accomplishing peace on the server, not making everyone think of each other as friends, and being thrown in prison.
So I understand why he probably doesn’t care about those goals anymore, and if it’s true he doesn’t care, I’ll still support him because after everything he did to try and help the server, only to be rejected by everyone, I honestly support him if all he wants to do know is torture and kill everyone on the server. :)

The “they overvalue my attachment… to anything but you” 😭😭😭 they had us in the first half not gonna lie
…but that would also mean sapnap was at least partially right in saying dream “only ever cared when I was proving my worth,” and if that isn’t the saddest realization :(((
And dream thinking George has replaced him with xd… noooo my heart :( From hypersomnia and waltz of a god we know George doesn’t really love xd, as much as xd desperately wants him to. We also see from hypersomnia that George is so caught up in his longing for dream that he doesn’t recognize xd’s friendship as sincere. What’s more, xd recognizes that George is still pining after dream to the point that George can’t get rid of his fantasies of having dream back
The amount of pain and misconceptions from this series of songs that could’ve been avoided with some communication… the misunderstandings really are rampant aren’t they lol. These four just need to sit down and have a nice long conversation to untangle this mess
Plus the callbacks to hypersomnia about waking up alone! Ah yes, it’s all coming together. And dream saying he’s defined by other people’s points of view… is that a reference to cc!dream’s lack of a perspective on the smp??? The fact that it ties so well into c!dream’s mentality that he was cast as the villain is just perfect, and you’ve conveyed it so brilliantly
Oh man, the simplicity of this one really makes it feel like it’s just a guy singing alone in a cell. The atmosphere you’ve created is so on point! And again, the narrative you’ve built is simply incredible, at this point it’s a whole frankie cinematic universe of angst. Four songs with a combined runtime of less than 20 minutes, and you’ve managed to convey such complexity of these characters. Each song builds off the others, and it’s simply phenomenal to watch the pieces fall into place. Once again, I am left in awe, and I’m hyped to see where you go next!

Oh my god ok. I have Things To Say. Nothing significant, just blabber.
First of all, holy shit you are so talented. You have an incredible voice, you can write lyrics so well that it tells a story while also rhyming, and the tunes you make up with the guitar is my favourite part of all 4 dream team songs i've heard from you.
The melody of this alone gave me some tears, even without the lyrics, i dont even know why. Also i love the references to the past songs, they always feel so connected and it's like a special little treat for the people who listened to them.
I just don't know how to describe how much i enjoyed listening to this. And to think that you are so good at only 18 years, i can't wait to see what you'll come up with next.
Also big props to the artist of the video, i love how they made the patterns for the obsidian and crying obsidian bits, along with the rest of the color choices.
Anyway end of blabber, good fucking job. Cant wait to memorize the lyrics so i can sing along. 11/10.

I’m so sad I missed this and I think the way the title and in some way the sound contrast and play into hypersomnia
in my mind this is a direct reply to hypersomnia and the riff for the guitar part actually came from a modified version of the hypersomnia riff in a minor key!! i wanted them to sound similar but while hypersomnia is more whistful and melancholic i wanted insomnia to come across more bitter and almost manipulative at points. there is real sadness underlaying the tone but it’s masked by an attempt at being the uncaring villain everyone decided him to be at the beginning of all the wars
