At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

It’s times like this which make you realize why Hurrem’s daughter finally got rid of the Shah in such a fierce way. And I’m glad she did because the Shah did nothing but plot and scheme with Hatice to get rid of Hurrem.
Hurrem is a disease that plagued the Ottoman Empire and the royal family. She needed to be rid of. She plotted to kill concubines, advisors, loyal subjects, even little princes who were born from Mustafa. She is the reason for the death and misery of most of the royal family members. She even killed Mustafa even though he saved her son
Suleyman never loved Hurrem
No one can love a criminal like her
@@charismai6942She wasn't unique in that
He did.. but not always respected
Hurrem did lied to him, many times. And you blame only him, like Hurrem is innocent which she is not
@@user-xk7rb9qu8c exactly!!
Producer should potray hurrem is a good muslimah ...she do a lot of charity work ..mosque ...
Doing charity and building mosque is nothing if you kill babies in their wombs and order children to be killed. She murdered many innocent people including Mustafa who was the best for Ottoman Empire
@@charismai6942Oh come on she was far from unique in that. Hyperfixating on her crimes shows a level of bias.
We do get moving scenes with her doing charity work.
@@hurremsultannss charity counts for 💩 if you kill innocent babies in and outside of their wombs. The charity was all to brainwash and trick people and ofcourse convincing Suleiman to free her from slavery
Here Hürrem sold her daughter
8:01 well said. Hurrem sultan will return!
She came back by luck, she died by luck. Hurrem wouldn’t even be remembered if she didn’t murder Suleiman’s other lovers in cold blood
@@charismai6942 that's not true at all
@@charismai6942 What an odd take when we're all sat here watching a show about Hürrem. She's very clearly a figure that went down in history.
@@charismai6942 she didnt murder anyone in real history this is just a drama when the sultans mother died he married hurrem and disolved his harem its a matter of public record try reading more than watching historical dramas lol
@@Redluna32 just because it’s a show about hurrem doesn’t make us blind to her sins. She killed innocent people, even babies in their wombs.
How could Suleiman do that, Hurrem sultan told him what Shah did lol
I love your thinking lol.
Because Hurrem tried to hide behind lies like she always does. Hurrem did sell those things Shah sultan just proved to Suleiman and hurrem tried to attack her. Shah sultan never forced hurrem to do what she did, she did it on her own will and Shah Sultan just proved it
Hurrem didn’t have sufficient evidence and was unfortunately set in a well placed trap and Şah Huban is his sister and a senior sultana with a ton of evidence against her.
Why do you always say “Hurrem sultan” and only “Shah”, “Hatice”? You know, Shah & Hatice are the only one who ACTUALLY has Sultan as their last names or titles. In our religion, lawfully wedded wives do not take the names or titles from her husband’s lineage. Don’t know why they had all these non-Islamic practices back then.
