You are absolutely amazing not being afraid to tear that printer down! I found a pink push pin low down in my feeded that was logdged and barely noticeable without taking it apart. I wouldn't have had the courage to rip it apart without this video. THANK YOU! IT WORKED! :)
Great video but I had to go 1 step farther. If you look at the paper grabber roller there is a tiny spring. I took it off with tiny needle needle nose pliers. I cut 1 turn off the spring, made another loop and put it back on and it now works great. My spring was weak and by shortening it, that pulled the rollers tighter to the paper. Your video helped guide me in the right direction. Thank you !
Fantastic! Canon MG5750 never worked from day 1 but was going cheap and didn't want to throw away old Canon spare ink cartridges. Tried this a year on and problems solved for now. Canon owe this guy and it's customers big time!
Perfect! I kept having propblems with my printer just not taking the paper. When it began, I just had to press the OK button, then it would take it, oddly enough. It got worse and worse, and today, it wouldn't take the paper without me shoving it in. I thought it might be a warranty issue, but this fixed it! Thanks!
Thank you, The method you show for cleaning the rollers on the canon MG 5620 worked for me. I used alcohol swabs to clean the rollers. . One comment. I suggest to show the people how to flip the printer upside down as it gets kind of messy: 1 Turn printer off disconnect the cables 2 remove top cover 3 remove paper from tray 4 Turn printer vertically as shown .. etc
I have had numerous problems with this printer, NEVER another canon for me, glad this guy has the patience to fix it, I bought it new, immediately it would grab 5 or 6 sheets of paper, now the tray is full and it says no paper, DONE I agree , every one I have talked with said DONT buy a canon printer.
Thank you so much. My printer has been working less and less. I searched Canon's site and found the info for the roller cleaning function. It's supposed to be done when it ejects a sheet of paper but it didn't clean it well enough to pick up the sheet. After cleaning the rollers with your method, it works. I figured I could wipe them down but couldn't reach them. I had no idea I could access them from underneath and it was so simple! Thanks again!
Brilliant video repaired my printer in under 2 mins was pulling my hair out before I watched this, just about to take it to the repairers, saved the expense and time thank you so much. Only tools required I tiny screen cleaner .
Thanks this worked. Use a microfiber cloth thats not going to leave lint behind which will make it worse. Wet the microfiber cloth and wipe off the rollers all the way around. My rollers were dusty with paper dust so they weren't grabbing. FAN the papers before you put them in the cassette. To open the bottom you simply pull it down as the video plainly shows. Thanks for the video. These are really great printers for the money. Mine has been sitting for six months unused and the ink jets aren't clogged. The quality of the printing is better than an Epson I paid $400 for and last only a year. There are videos here on youtube how you can clean the ink jets on these Pixma printers, when other printers you just can't do that at all.....
Much thanks!! Got it going. Took a couple of tries. I found that using canned air and flexing the plastic like you showed in the video got in on the second try. Thanks again!!
This really helped me with Canon Maxima MB5000. I have had my printer for years - has served me well in my small office environment & cleaning the paper feeder rollers has given it a new lease of life! Thank you :)
I'm surprised by all the comments with hate for the MG5550. Literally the best printer I've ever had (and I've used many HP, Epson, Brother...). It's still working flawlessly.
That worked a treat. Thanks IE Trading; you've saved me having to buy a new printer, and for the benefit of others, I used Medi-Swabs (they have isopropyl - rubbing alcoholic - in or on them).
Thanks for the video re cleaning the canon printer's rollers. I have a different model, but it reminded me where to look. And to those people using foul and abusive language, I find it proof of immaturity and lack of respect. Sorry to have to meet all kinds...
I had a different model that I couldnt figure out how to open the bottom of but i just reached down into the paper tray and cleaned the wheels and this worked!
Thanks, man! Was able to fix my mother's MG 5655 with a piece of sponge aswell. This is quite obviously a "wanted" issue by canon, so people will get frustrated and replace it... with another canon-printer ofc...
Worked for me! thanks for this video! but before people buy this printer just stick with epson or any others, iv used my epson printer for 10 years printing music sheets for students everyday and its never failed me, i was given this printer as the ink is cheaper but once iv used my ink im going back to the epson !
SO SIMPLE!! I WAS ABOUT TO TAKE IT APART :-). THIS IS MY 4TH CANON IN ABOUT 20 YEARS. NO PROBLEMS EVER. GOOD MAINTENANCE AND ONLY GENUINE CANON INK. THEY JUST GOT OLD SO I WENT ON. THANKS A LOT
I have a mp280 cannon printer when am trying to photo copy stuff in feeder tray does not roll its jam so paper can not come out the exit tray any help any clue
Brilliant it works? I was skeptical because it all appeared clean, but I put it back together and it immediately started printing after weeks of frustration.
I agree. It's unbearable. I tried Epson before and Samsung. I thought they had problems, but now I can't even remember what they were, comparing to the troubles Canon is giving me!!!
Me too. My Canon MG5650 gives paper error, see: th-cam.com/video/EzJrbhiW6Hg/w-d-xo.html When I press OK the printer will continue. I cleaned the rollers. Did not help. The Canon's seems famous for this issue I found out later. I'm gonna try a Epson Expression Home XP-3100 now.
Tip the printer upside down and clean the 2 rollers exposed when you pull the tray foward with nail varnish remover (thinners), it's saved me slinging the thing out more than once.
Thank you so very much it worked. Also in the (Windows 10) control panel we have software tools that allow us to clean the rollers and other parts of the printer. I used both and now it is printing again! I have a different model but used the same technique. Thank for your time and consideration.
Vicki Peek You’ve probably solved your problem by now, or gotten a new printer, but for future viewers lol: mine is a Canon but doesn’t open up like this one either, I was able to push a paper towel down inside where you put the paper in down to the rollers and rub the paper towel over them to get the dust (and dog hair lol) off. It fixed my issue.
I have a canon pixma mg3620 paper jammed. Was able to remove paper but difficult because the printer pulled in the whole stack of paper . I followed the instructions from you tube on this model . Im trying to print patterns I purchased. The lines on the pattern are not connecting. What to do now . This is a new printer.
If you're having problems with the paper feeding from your tray, try the sponge method seen in other videos. The method on this video will only fix it for a short while whereas the sponge method fixes it for a prolonged period of time.
I just switched the lower tray rollers with the ones on the top tray because these were never used and it solved the problem. Just the rubber roller, not the whole mechanism it is just a 5 mins job.
I have a MG5500, just tried wiping down the surfaces shown in this video... and I did work... I was skeptical but it printed 2 test pages, so I guess it is ok for now...
So you basicly have to clean it and then close it bit harsh ? got my 2nd model (MG5650) and has the same problem with the paper feed. I ll try this. I must say that the error must be some stupid sensor not working properly. because i dont do anything to the paper i just press ''ok'' after the error and then it picks up the paper fine.
hey bro.. I have a Canon Pixma E510... i can't find the screw at the bottom of it.. so how am i supposed to see that part.. can you please help me...Thanks in advance!
In case some people didn't understood, this video is not for ALL PIXMA Printers, concern at least PIXMA 5530 (in the video) and PIXMA 6450 (i own one). I don't know for other printers, but i think printers older than 5530 will probably not be the same.
It's easy to understand why people are asking, because with Pixma MG3100 series printers, the printer tray is fixed in place and can't be removed. The only way to expose the rollers is to actually disassemble the printer. How do you do that/ With a great deal of nerve: th-cam.com/video/l3HaCV6Kj4k/w-d-xo.html
I did all of these steps multiple times exactly as shown, and the paper still jams every time I try to print. Does anyone have any additional suggestions?
You are absolutely amazing not being afraid to tear that printer down! I found a pink push pin low down in my feeded that was logdged and barely noticeable without taking it apart. I wouldn't have had the courage to rip it apart without this video. THANK YOU! IT WORKED! :)
This guy got 300k views because Canon made a piece of crap. Brilliant simply brilliant.
Lol
Do as him and collect 300kv
500k views now
Great video but I had to go 1 step farther. If you look at the paper grabber roller there is a tiny spring. I took it off with tiny needle needle nose pliers. Yep, I did this and it works now ! Thank you soooooo much.
Oh, I cut 2 loops off the spring.

It worked like a charm!!! Wow! Thank you SO much!! It was so nice to fix something myself instead of asking my husband :):)
I followed the instructions and turned it upside down, a carpenters pencil fell out. Works fine now. Thanks!
Perfect! I kept having propblems with my printer just not taking the paper. When it began, I just had to press the OK button, then it would take it, oddly enough. It got worse and worse, and today, it wouldn't take the paper without me shoving it in. I thought it might be a warranty issue, but this fixed it! Thanks!
Great video! Fixed the problem! Canon should have a fault code that reads "Clean the feed roller", rather than STUPIDLY saying "Paper tray empty"!
+Alan Cooney Yes, very annoying when trying to print 160+ invitations.
You saved my MG5550.
It worked again perfectly after cleaning the wheels with alcool.
Thank you for contributing saving the planet !
Lucius Snow God bless you
Thank you, The method you show for cleaning the rollers on the canon MG 5620 worked for me. I used alcohol swabs to clean the rollers.

Victor Han how do you make the bottom panel slide up?

It actually worked for me! My printer was eating paper today, but like magic this fixed it. Nice when something actually works. :)
How did you do it
Thanks for this video. Unfortunately it did not work. Is there a way to give the rollers more grip?
That worked a treat. Thanks IE Trading; you've saved me having to buy a new printer, and for the benefit of others, I used Medi-Swabs (they have isopropyl - rubbing alcoholic - in or on them).
Thanks for the video re cleaning the canon printer's rollers. I have a different model, but it reminded me where to look. And to those people using foul and abusive language, I find it proof of immaturity and lack of respect. Sorry to have to meet all kinds...

Some Canon printers have a "roller cleaner" routine under settings, "maintenance". Worth a try
Thanks, man! Was able to fix my mother's MG 5655 with a piece of sponge aswell. This is quite obviously a "wanted" issue by canon, so people will get frustrated and replace it... with another canon-printer ofc...
شكرا
Thanks for showing me a quick fix which has made a big difference!
Wow, he just touched the printer and the bottom magically slid up! Way to go!
Worked for me, thankyou

I am just going to throw my pixma away and stay away from Canon, printing is not good, the paper won't feed. I am done with it.
I hate it
I agree. It's unbearable. I tried Epson before and Samsung. I thought they had problems, but now I can't even remember what they were, comparing to the troubles Canon is giving me!!!
Just got a cheap HP, way better than fucking Pixma
I have had three canon printers had to replace them because of it breaking
Me too. My Canon MG5650 gives paper error, see: th-cam.com/video/EzJrbhiW6Hg/w-d-xo.html
When I press OK the printer will continue. I cleaned the rollers. Did not help. The Canon's seems famous for this issue I found out later. I'm gonna try a Epson Expression Home XP-3100 now.
I had a pen stuck in my feed roller wtf I'm a moron.. prints like a charm again. Thanks for the vid!!
How the hell did you get a pen in it?
Tip the printer upside down and clean the 2 rollers exposed when you pull the tray foward with nail varnish remover (thinners), it's saved me slinging the thing out more than once.
Thankyou ,worked first time. Cheers
Solved my problem. Just had a ton of dust on the rollers. Fyi, if you have to unscrew anything on your MX490, you’re likely doing it wrong.
So WTH did you clean it with?
Thank you so very much it worked. Also in the (Windows 10) control panel we have software tools that allow us to clean the rollers and other parts of the printer. I used both and now it is printing again! I have a different model but used the same technique. Thank for your time and consideration.
I just bought mine 2 days ago and this is happening! I'm getting my money back!
Worked for me, so happy. (Note; very easy....just like the video and I had problems for a while before looking up fix)
Champion!! You saved me buying a new printer!! thanks
Thanks so much, this worked on my MG560.
I may be missing something or Canon MG 3150 is different but how does one remove that part on the bottom? Thanks in advance...
Thanks so much, got my printer working. Good job!! :)
How do you even get that thing opened?
You CAN'T do it on a mx 472 for certain ‼️✅
How did you get access to the rollers? I can't seem to open it like you have, did you undo any screws or press down on any tabs somewhere?
Vicki Peek You’ve probably solved your problem by now, or gotten a new printer, but for future viewers lol: mine is a Canon but doesn’t open up like this one either, I was able to push a paper towel down inside where you put the paper in down to the rollers and rub the paper towel over them to get the dust (and dog hair lol) off. It fixed my issue.
Great stuff, worked a treat! Thanks for posting :)
This just worked for me...thanks!!!
Is the item you used to wipe down the roller a specific cleaning wipe, or just like a paper towel or microfiber?
thank u thank u thank u- this worked like a charm!!!!!!
Thank you for sharing this video
Thank you, that was so simple! My printer works again!
That’s totally worked!!!!!!
It worked! just a smidge of alcohol on a microfiber cloth is what I used 👍👍
If you're having problems with the paper feeding from your tray, try the sponge method seen in other videos. The method on this video will only fix it for a short while whereas the sponge method fixes it for a prolonged period of time.
How to do taht cant find what your saying
Worked for me cheers
Some extra help on how to open up the bottom please, as many others have asked. I have a MG3250.
It is not possible, you have to disassemble the printer and remove the paper feeder from the rear.
I just switched the lower tray rollers with the ones on the top tray because these were never used and it solved the problem. Just the rubber roller, not the whole mechanism it is just a 5 mins job.
Hello thanks for sharing
Thanks! This fixed the problem in minutes! :)
This worked like a charm!!! Thank you for posting this!!!!
ayos napaka informative po nito
I have a MG5500, just tried wiping down the surfaces shown in this video... and I did work...
I was skeptical but it printed 2 test pages, so I guess it is ok for now...
This is a great video, but how in the world did you get the part off that exposes the roller???
that's my problem too .. haha!
pull the paper tray forward
You can't. Not on MG31xx series PIXMA printers.
Worked a treat, thank you
I wish you gave a little explanation of what you're doing, you can speak in these you know lol how did you get the printer open?
So you basicly have to clean it and then close it bit harsh ?
got my 2nd model (MG5650) and has the same problem with the paper feed. I ll try this.
I must say that the error must be some stupid sensor not working properly. because i dont do anything to the paper i just press ''ok'' after the error and then it picks up the paper fine.
Worked! Thank you!
Worked perfectly thank you!
Thank you!!! I was about to toss it out the window.
what is the model of thos printer mine is a mx472 and connect move this like that
Nice bro
It works! Thank you
hey bro.. I have a Canon Pixma E510... i can't find the screw at the bottom of it.. so how am i supposed to see that part.. can you please help me...Thanks in advance!
same I am
same
..you need to put the model number in the title bro..
Thanks! This tutorial save me.
Tissue pala ginagamit. Im doing it wrong. Thanks for this video.
That will be $100 Mrs. Smith.
Brill!!!!!!!! who'd of thought it worked
Fuck the haters. Works wonders for me. Thanks OP!
In case some people didn't understood, this video is not for ALL PIXMA Printers, concern at least PIXMA 5530 (in the video) and PIXMA 6450 (i own one). I don't know for other printers, but i think printers older than 5530 will probably not be the same.
thx alot it also workfor mg6650
Thank you. I can't beleive people are asking how you exposed the wheels. LOL it worked.
The way he handles it makes me think it’s done this same problem 100 times before. And it will do it 100 times again.
It worked, but think it may be a temporary fix. Printer is making a loud clicking noise and I can't work out where it's coming from.
Alcohol will usually do the job to soften up the wheels enough. Use q-tip to apply and clean.
You should start at the very beginning and explain what you're doing as well as give the model number.
Thank you so much for your method. I solved this feeding problem.
thank you it worked
Nice po
Spent two hrs cleaning did nothing but eat more of my paper
How do you open it below? Need help guys😢
Life saver
I am sure it comes out just like it's shown, but it does not. I believe the comment prior to mine was the most prudent.
thanks! works!
For those wondering 'how to open the bottom' pull your paper tray forward. Thanks for the video IE Trading
Jer Goes is it the same for Canon pixma e510?
or just turn the rubber rollers inside out - worked for me!
Thanks! turned rubber rollers inside out and it worked! 😊👍
Tray does not ioen to reveal rollers.
I did all of these steps multiple times exactly as shown, and the paper still jams every time I try to print. Does anyone have any additional suggestions?
