Our Malaysian food is always consider good cos can eat from Chinese, Indian Malay, western food which is easily available . Prices are reasonable. Malaysian restaurant or 5 foot food lane area never chase customer away no matter how crowded , we consider it rude & customer even got right to scold the owner too. Hong Kong cost of living is high, so everything will be expensive. Malaysia cost of living is lower ( to foreigner it consider ok, but to our own Malaysia is expensive) so everything to them is cheap. They can afford to spend happily. With US $ 100,000 in Malaysia you can buy a standard apartment .But for house is expensive , probably around US $120,000 onward. ( Price for housing / apartment depend on location & design ). Aunty can migrate to Malaysia also, no problem. 😊
20 years ago, the noddles were about 3 to 4 ringgit. Then, 5 years ago went up to 5.50 to 6.50 ringgit for a bowl at local eatries/cha zhet. These days, it's around 8 to 10 ringgit, so expensive. Many cant afford to pay this price which affected by Inflation & Ukraine - Russia war. Malaysia import supplies from Ukraine.

Try to chat with markets sellers, jobless citizens, elderly who already retired, those still struggle making living or earning low salary before u make any remarks. We live in society, blend with differents earning and spending power. Do think about them before we speak.
But there are still a lot of new cars on the road! Of course, there do have some people who are thriving to survive! In Malaysia, don’t choose jobs, we can still survive!

Food vendor work long hours, your food on the table is where people hard work and feeling the pressure of rising cost of goods. The food vendors hope to sell cheaper but in order business to exists they need to be profitable to keep on serving. If we feel it is expensive to eat out, just simply cook at home. Malaysian are so lucky to enjoy low cost of living and everything taking for granted.
