Neos Fusion now exists. It let you fuse for the summon of Neos fusion by using the Hand, Field, or DECK. 1 card Rainbow Neos. And you can banish it from grave to protect Neos fusions.
***** That was the effect of Magnet Force, a Trap, redirecting Slifer. Not a monster - the Magnets were involved in the combo, sure, but they weren't the ones who dealt the actual blow. Meanwhile, Glow Moss just straight-up attacked Winged Dragon of Ra.

So wait: Flame Swordsman, a monster with average stats for a level 4 that was basically a vanilla in the anime was turned into a fusion monster in the card game and was comprised of 2 pathetic vanilla monsters, but Neos Wiseman, a card that was fusion in the anime and is based around 2 monsters that, while not amazing, you could fairly easily make decks built to support them, was turned into a non-fusion monster but still has an overwhelmingly strict summoning condition. Konami, why?
4 years and no legit answer. Because if it *was* a Fusion it would be too powerful. You wouldn't need to draw into it and wouldn't need to summon the materials.
I think this problem exist by 1 simple fact: fusion mechanic. Really, if you compare this with the anime, OCG & TCG fusion mechanic is broken. No need for the monster to be summoned, only in hand & activate 1 spell card...BOOM! Boss monster!! Not eating your precious normal summon quota, can do it multiple times, build your field by only using spell & hand (and lately, you dont even need to use your hand...only spell and BOOM!! F*ck your opponent). Not only this is too OP in theory (while in reality we know it's not that easy, just because the OP version of the poly is always limiting its stat or effect or both or even eating a huge chunk of your LP), but it is ultra ugly in anime. Nobody want to see a "skip" scene of the protagonist just spamming OP boss monster one after another & OTK without any drama, up & down, or any turbulation or even summoning the "partner" iconic monster first. Fusion is supposed to be used as comeback mechanic as a plot armor for the protagonist to get a stronger monster when he almost got beaten. Thats why in almost every battle that include fusion summon the protagonist need to summon the ace monster first and then topdecking the poly or other monster to comeback. Emphasis in "SUMMON THE ACE MONSTER FIRST". Fusion mechanic is supposed to be used like that, not a free real ticket for Boss Monster to jump out to empty field by only using a spell and 2 additional card (or even 0) in hand. This OCG/TCG Fusion mechanic can easily make fusion monster too powerful, till the point that it makes Konami need to alter some of the anime card, because in anime, they summon the ace monster as material first, to show it to the audience about the protagonist efforts, before then summoning the stronger boss monster. While in reality they just need some searcher & lucky draw without even using their normal summon to make it. My suggestion is, at least make the fusion mechanic more limited. They need to use at least 1 of the material to be summoned in the field first. So at least it will make the trade off become more fair (1 monster in the field + spell card + card in hand VS 1 Extra strong card in the field). But NO, they prefer to change many cards, many effect, create many limitations for any poly alternative cards created later rather than changing the mechanic.
Divine Neos was decent in the anime. It gained 500 for every monster in the grave, not just heroes, and gains ALL their effects without needing to banish. How they messed up the irl version idk how
They nerfed it so much it become bad. Well, actually the effect is not that bad, it's just requires too much effort just to bring out a mediocre monster.
@@Meridianblood Also Neos Wiseman who should've been fine as Fusion monster like in Anime but no they nerfed him to be Main deck effect monster who has convoluted summoning condition so nobody play him, then release Neos Kluger later which is what Wiseman should be form the start. They feared too much back then that Neos will be OP if they release the cards as are in Anime, then in the present they released something like Red Eyes Dragoon and Phoenix Destroyer. I guess they just hate Neos.
Now Neos got a retrain that summons itself from the hand, searches Contact spells on summon, and summons original Neos from the deck. All you could ask for.
Fun fact: if you use space gift while are you have Marine dolphin and twinkle moss on the field you draw four cards because their names count as Aqua dolphin and glow moss simultaneously, as opposed to their names becoming Aqua dolphin and glow moss.
Fair enough, their name clauses were different than I thought, although "their names count as Aqua Dolphin instead of their names becoming ' ' " is a contradictory statement because you said the same thing twice. The important word in their text is "also", which I wasn't aware of.

I'll never forget summoning a 5400 ATK Flare Neos on my first turn It was on YGOPro, and the other guy just went "Holy shit" I mean he immediately killed me next turn but it was hype for a second!
I hated how Neos almost completely replaced Jaden's existing Elemental Heroes in the anime. As soon as he got them, we barely saw him play his old cards. As bad as his Elemental Heroes were at the time, they were a lot more fun to watch than cards that required such contrived situations to be useful (moreso than normal for anime plays).
Heck, flame wing man and it’s evolutions have a clear plan in mind and the other E HEROS are a battle focused deck, just make them stronger (or not vanillas) and boom, you have a solid marketing idea
I remember buying a booster pack years ago and getting foiled Divine Neos and thinking "Man this must be worth a the money to buy a couple more packs" but no it was worth less than a fucking candy.
I wish Judai used all of the other million Elemental HEROes that exist and the Masked HEROes, that he never used in the anime, instead of the Neo-Spacians
+Misaka Mikoto Do not fret oh my railgun. There are actually ways of playing Neos and the Neo Spacians in a semi-competitve way. Back when Construct was legal that way was Shaddolls, but it's exactly as good and even more consistent if you couple it with E-Heroes. The new ones of course ^^
Jason Miller I meant they get better cards for their archetype not a load of tech cards, all of Yuuyas cards are easier to summon and have waaaay better effects than anything in Jadens Neos deck, that doesn't mean Yuuyas deck is good if you look at the decklist it's rubbish and filled with cards that only work together in very rare circumstances which of course happens every episode allowing him to summon his way better cards
seriously good decks they havent had good decks the last good decks was in yugioh 5ds then theres arc v with the worst and broken summoning method called pendulum that is the reason why i dont watch yugioh anymore pendulum makes dueling a lot easier to noobs it is a big advantage for those who use it and a big disadvantage for those who don't

The end phase extra deck shuffle is mind boggling. You already have to go through hell just to get neos out, how is it fair to have your fusion monster go back to the deck afterwards? You're left with nothing at all.
@@ThatOneWeirdFlex Not true, Aqua Neos has a solid effect and Grand Neos wouldn't be bad either, if not for the effect that he returns to the Extra deck in the End phase. On the other hand, only Nebula and Cosmo Neos have good effects that you can use while they are on the field; the various boardwipes of the triple Contact Fusions are only an upside to their effect to return to the Extra deck during the End phase.
You should start a series like "Legacy of the Worthy" where you talk about overpowered/ stronger archetypes we've had throughout the years and reasons why they were so strong. That's would be really awesome!
Were the ghost girls released before or after the video...? According to internet, it was almost a year after, so makes sense, the card is good at removing handtraps, and also we lacked connector to special summon this dolphin.

Man, you really are one of the most underrated Yugitubers out there. You're cogent, you have a good sense of design, and you actually analyze these archetypes on every level instead of just "IT'S NOT DROOLERS, IT SUCKS." It really occurred to me when I was watching your Arcana Force video and you pointed out that the reason they didn't work was not that they were a gamble deck, but that they were a gamble deck whose only results were "kinda good" or "fuckawful" instead of one where they were two equally viable but different results. And that definitely applied here, because you actually went into the reasons that Neos doesn't work and never really worked, when you could have just pointed a finger and laughed. Also, I'm writing a fanfic that features a future version of Judai and one of the big differences is that he uses upgraded Neo-Spacians that have actual chain-summon effects and okay stats - basically, just making the NEX cards the normal thing. So I was definitely looking forward to the "what could be fixed" part. NEX itself seemed to be based loosely on the "Metamorphosis'd Heroes" concept that the anime used a few times, with Neo Bubbleman and Clay Guardian, and that's probably what they were supposed to be. Then Metamorphosis got banned, and nobody in their right mind was using it for that anyway. Divine Neos was nerfed hard from the anime. Anime Divine Neos started at 3000, and he could banish Neo-Spacians from the Deck to power himself up and get their effects, multiple times per turn. But nooooo.
It's pretty weird but here we are. Hand knowledge became more and more important as the years went by, and also being able to get rid of a handtrap is pretty alright.
All the original neos fusions are basically the embodiment of "Having not really done anything useful, I'm off!" unless the multi-movie contract known as neo-space is on the field.
Well done, you fused two monsters including a vanilla 2500 to summon a 2500 fusion that negates itself, essentially turning into... a vanilla 2500. However that might at least amount to something if you used Prisma instead of an actual Neos.
@@firefly_0619 as an archetype no, but thanks to verte basically any deck can make kluger/rainbow from virtually nothing which is neat. At the very least tho they're PLAYABLE pure thanks to connector.
Let's see what's happened in nearly 6 years: They got 5 more Fusions: Nebula, Cosmo, Kluger, Brave and Shining Neos Wingman. Neo Space Connector just brings out the big guy and a Neo-Spacian for you. EN - Engage Neo Space is ridiculously good even with the drawback of being locked out of Link Monsters Spirit of Neos being the closest we'll get to a proper retrain of Neos Cross Keeper being useful in HERO Soup and Neos hybrid build and letting D-Draw for Summoning an E-HERO. Instant Contact for a free Marine Dolphin or Sunrise, which means either a hand snipe or Miracle search. Neos Fusion being a free Rainbow Neos or Shadow Mist dump at the cost of not being able to Special Summon They FINALLY got a Trap that Summons them during the opponent's turn...but then said trap prevents you from being able to abuse Cosmo/Storm/Magma...ugh. Still Table 500, but not worthless anymore.
And most important, the meta shifted in a way Aqua dolphin is actually something to consider in certain warrior decks because the meta is very handtrap-heavy.
Given that Neos shares his name with Ultraman Neos and also shares some design details with characters from the Ultraman franchise (red lines across the body and a blue crystal thing in his chest), I think the "shuffle this card into the Extra Deck during the End Phase" is meant to reference how each Ultraman in their respective series usually flies away or disappears at the end of a fight. Neo Space could be referencing the Land of Light, which is pretty much the Ultras' main homeworld and base of operations
Long ago something like strategy and rules cards (totally forgot their real name) were included inside booster packs, and among them there was one particular advice about one of the Neos fusions: "you can use the effect of Dark Neos to negate its own effect, so it won't have to return to the extra (fusion) deck during the end phase if you don't control Neo Space !". Don't know why, but I found that piece of info baffling at the time, making a contact fusion that's basically a cooler-looking vanilla Neos. It was also the time when I got totally rekted by a sakuretsu armor when I tried to attack with a Flare Neos pumped up to 8k for game... fun playground times XD
When you think about it Jaden is spreading his dominance Not only are his fusions pretty good in situations (effectively giving him the advantage for the moment showing his raw power to the opponent) but he leaves himself open to his opponent taunting to his opponent "hit me I dare you" This far outweighs the balls of anyone in Yu-Gi-Oh history as they all keep their powerful monsters on the field not willing to allow themselves to get hit. Truly Jaden was able to not only dominate in card games but also in the psychological game
I’m still confused why the anime did not just give Jaden masked heroes instead of giving him neo-spacians. In the manga he got masked heroes as his upgraded deck and masked heroes don’t suck in every single way
To be fair masked heroes weren’t even designed into physical cards at the time so that probably has something to do with that…but yeah I still wish it was masked heros instead.

I find that the best field spell to use is geartown since it forces you opponent to choose between you controlling an earthbound immortal or you controlling ancient gear gadjiltron dragon
Neo-Spacian Glow Moss has pretty good synergy with Masked Hero Dark Law. When he attacks/is attacked, your opponent draws 1 card and whatever effect goes off. However since your opponent drew a card outside the draw phase 1 card in their hand is randomly discarded. Then thanks to his other effect the card is banished instead of send to the graveyard. If you're on the offensive then you'd want to attack with Glow Moss last in case your opponent draws a Monster (ending the battle phase).
How about a continuous spell card that said: "Special summon "Elemental HERO Neos" from your deck in face-up attack position and equip it with this card. If this card is removed from the field, shuffle the equipped monster into your deck. If the equipped monster is shuffled into the deck, shuffle this card into your deck as well." What do you think? Should there be some cost like discard a card, pay life points, maybe mill to keep in the spirit of messing with your deck? Or maybe that it's sent to the grave if the neos leaves the field?
I stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh back in like the 00's and even though this series is dedicated to worthless archetypes, this is actually very interesting and show me how far Yu-Gi-Oh has come, or in this case how far it has deviated from the original and intended playstyle. I genuinely enjoyed this episode and since I was unable to finish it in one sitting I came back to watch the rest. I like this series and I intend to watch more. Great job, awesome work. Subscribed? I can make up an Elemental hero Neos retrain right here on the spot. Neo Elemental Hero Neos Level: 7 ATK: 2500 Def: 2000 Effect: (This card is always treated as Elemental Hero Neos) If there is a "Neo Spacian" monster or "Neo Space" on your side of the field, you can special summon this card from your hand. During your end phase, if this card was used as a material for a monster with "Elemental Hero Neos" in its text, if a card with "Elemental Hero Neos" in its text is shuffled into the extra deck using its own effect, you can special summon this card from your hand, deck or graveyard. You can only use each effect once per turn. This solves all problems with the archetype while not being completely broken meaning it won't be hit on the banlist. I wonder what you all think of this card.
It's so funny to think about that 5 years ago this archetype was completely terrible and now in 2022 they get their own version of Tri-Brigade Revolt to possibly summon Cosmo Neos on the opponents turn to shut down every play they might make.

Dark Magician's Cousin Let's see they have 3 effect monsters one which is really not worth running, 6 fusion monsters two that is mainly used for evil hero OTK and one that with the right cards can have the second largest atk points in Yu-Gi-Oh history, and 2 fusion spell cards. So yeah not a lot of support but I still love them regardless.

I have seen Neo Spacians used in draw engines before. Using Convert Contact, Neo Spacial Gift and a couple of others, they got quite a lot of draws out of it. They didn’t win, but I saw them do it.
trunks strategy? gtfo! you dont need to manage your resources a all. it doesnt matter if your opponent nukes your field you can simply get everything back during your turn without any cost so dont talk about skill with this stupid faceroll mechanic
+Sandro Guzelj I use a pendulum deck and you just can't use all your resources in one turn because the opponent can destroy your scale and sometimes it is better to save cards for later. Also, if the opponent nukes your field chances are you already fusion/synchro/xyz summoned so your pendulum cards are in your graveyard, besides if your scale if ruined its probably going to take a while before you can restore it.
Maybe someday RANK10YGO could make a series about the most broken decks? like what could be done to balance them, with some witty title like "Legacy of the Broken"
Despite the issues with Neospacians, you can really see how their design impacted later Extra Deck mechanics. Synchos, XYZs, and Links are refined contact-fusions. Oh, and Neos Fusion happened.
I love neos and neospacians. Nothing can change my mind. They were my favorite cards in the anime and even though I don't have time or money to build a deck, I do run Neos fusion on most Yugioh Video games and more often then not win. I'll stand by my Neos fusion deck till the end

What's so hilarious about the downside of the Neos fusions is that even the anime showed how bad they are when Jaden first tried using them against Aster, dude minus'd so hard to get Aqua Neos out, even spending half his lp to do so, only for his field to be wide open and took 3 direct attacks to the face, had it not been for his role as a protagonist Astar could have pulled any other D hero with higher atk and OTK'd him
Nah, Neo-Spacians were never considered good. Even when they were young, people were running Monarch variants, Diamond Dude Hero builds, Gladiator Beasts, Demise OTK... Point is, it's just not a good deck when it's based around summoning a two-tributer, summoning a weak monster, and then losing the result at the End Phase. Hell, the only really effective Neo-Spacian builds these days are OTK builds - usually focused on Air Neos, Flare Neos, or Magma Neos, pumped up by Honesty Neos. Any Neos Deck incapable of an OTK tends to find its entire field vanish during the End Phase.

No, they really, really weren't. The overwhelming opinion was that the Neo-Spacian style of Contact Fusion was strictly worse than standard fusion, and keep in mind, standard fusion was almost never used outside of Metamorphosis and Cyber Dragons. If anything, Neo-Spacians were even worse back then, because the format in those days was so slow that losing a monster that required a two-tributer and a weak monster to summon would set you back so far that you'd be lagging behind for the entire remainder of the duel, and so beatdown-focused that relying on the survival of monsters with less than 1000 ATK was tantamount to surrender. These days, there are at least enough options that you can do them turbo and OTK with some reliability. Neo-Spacians are not a good deck that time has passed back; they're flawed to their core. There are Goat Format decks that could overcome the majority of 2007 Neo-Spacian builds.
In Duel Links the situation of neos is SO different. this is because a lot of things: -New support cards like neos fusion, neo espace connector and brave neos, which completely carry the deck and are even useful for other decks, since brave neos can be used for any deck that wants monsters on the GY (and also in the TCG, you can use neos fusion to simply bring rainbow neos). -Duel Links is played with 20 cards, which makes it more likely you're actually going to get the cards you need, and you don't have to waste the extra spaces on useless cards. -Judai's skill that simply allows you to start the game with neo space on the field, meaning you don't need to worry about it going away unless your opponent tries to destroy neo space (which is why i usually have an extra neo space on my deck so if the one of the skill goes away, i'm not exposed). -You have only 4000 LPs and only 3 spaces on the field for monsters and field spells, which not only means you have to get rid of less monsters, but have an easier time setting up an OTK.

Fusion is supposed to be used as comeback mechanic as a plot armor for the protagonist to get a stronger monster when he almost got beaten. Thats why in almost every battle that include fusion summon the protagonist need to summon the ace monster first and then topdecking the poly or other monster to comeback.
Emphasis in "SUMMON THE ACE MONSTER FIRST". Fusion mechanic is supposed to be used like that, not a free real ticket for Boss Monster to jump out to empty field by only using a spell and 2 additional card (or even 0) in hand.
This OCG/TCG Fusion mechanic can easily make fusion monster too powerful, till the point that it makes Konami need to alter some of the anime card, because in anime, they summon the ace monster as material first, to show it to the audience about the protagonist efforts, before then summoning the stronger boss monster. While in reality they just need some searcher & lucky draw without even using their normal summon to make it.
My suggestion is, at least make the fusion mechanic more limited. They need to use at least 1 of the material to be summoned in the field first. So at least it will make the trade off become more fair (1 monster in the field + spell card + card in hand VS 1 Extra strong card in the field). But NO, they prefer to change many cards, many effect, create many limitations for any poly alternative cards created later rather than changing the mechanic.
Divine Neos was decent in the anime. It gained 500 for every monster in the grave, not just heroes, and gains ALL their effects without needing to banish. How they messed up the irl version idk how

They feared too much back then that Neos will be OP if they release the cards as are in Anime, then in the present they released something like Red Eyes Dragoon and Phoenix Destroyer. I guess they just hate Neos.

I hated how Neos almost completely replaced Jaden's existing Elemental Heroes in the anime. As soon as he got them, we barely saw him play his old cards. As bad as his Elemental Heroes were at the time, they were a lot more fun to watch than cards that required such contrived situations to be useful (moreso than normal for anime plays).

The end phase extra deck shuffle is mind boggling. You already have to go through hell just to get neos out, how is it fair to have your fusion monster go back to the deck afterwards? You're left with nothing at all.

On the other hand, only Nebula and Cosmo Neos have good effects that you can use while they are on the field; the various boardwipes of the triple Contact Fusions are only an upside to their effect to return to the Extra deck during the End phase.
You should start a series like "Legacy of the Worthy" where you talk about overpowered/ stronger archetypes we've had throughout the years and reasons why they were so strong. That's would be really awesome!

Man, you really are one of the most underrated Yugitubers out there. You're cogent, you have a good sense of design, and you actually analyze these archetypes on every level instead of just "IT'S NOT DROOLERS, IT SUCKS." It really occurred to me when I was watching your Arcana Force video and you pointed out that the reason they didn't work was not that they were a gamble deck, but that they were a gamble deck whose only results were "kinda good" or "fuckawful" instead of one where they were two equally viable but different results. And that definitely applied here, because you actually went into the reasons that Neos doesn't work and never really worked, when you could have just pointed a finger and laughed.
Also, I'm writing a fanfic that features a future version of Judai and one of the big differences is that he uses upgraded Neo-Spacians that have actual chain-summon effects and okay stats - basically, just making the NEX cards the normal thing. So I was definitely looking forward to the "what could be fixed" part.
NEX itself seemed to be based loosely on the "Metamorphosis'd Heroes" concept that the anime used a few times, with Neo Bubbleman and Clay Guardian, and that's probably what they were supposed to be. Then Metamorphosis got banned, and nobody in their right mind was using it for that anyway.
Divine Neos was nerfed hard from the anime. Anime Divine Neos started at 3000, and he could banish Neo-Spacians from the Deck to power himself up and get their effects, multiple times per turn. But nooooo.

It's pretty weird but here we are. Hand knowledge became more and more important as the years went by, and also being able to get rid of a handtrap is pretty alright.

Kinda reinforces the issue with the archetype, when they have to negate their own effects just to keep them out.
Only one monster can be targeted at once so negating itself defeats the purpose of even running Dark Neos at all

Instant Contact for a free Marine Dolphin or Sunrise, which means either a hand snipe or Miracle search.
Neos Fusion being a free Rainbow Neos or Shadow Mist dump at the cost of not being able to Special Summon
They FINALLY got a Trap that Summons them during the opponent's turn...but then said trap prevents you from being able to abuse Cosmo/Storm/Magma...ugh.
Still Table 500, but not worthless anymore.
And don't forget about En shuffle who is way too good to be normal spell
And most important, the meta shifted in a way Aqua dolphin is actually something to consider in certain warrior decks because the meta is very handtrap-heavy.
Given that Neos shares his name with Ultraman Neos and also shares some design details with characters from the Ultraman franchise (red lines across the body and a blue crystal thing in his chest), I think the "shuffle this card into the Extra Deck during the End Phase" is meant to reference how each Ultraman in their respective series usually flies away or disappears at the end of a fight. Neo Space could be referencing the Land of Light, which is pretty much the Ultras' main homeworld and base of operations
Long ago something like strategy and rules cards (totally forgot their real name) were included inside booster packs, and among them there was one particular advice about one of the Neos fusions: "you can use the effect of Dark Neos to negate its own effect, so it won't have to return to the extra (fusion) deck during the end phase if you don't control Neo Space !".
Don't know why, but I found that piece of info baffling at the time, making a contact fusion that's basically a cooler-looking vanilla Neos.
It was also the time when I got totally rekted by a sakuretsu armor when I tried to attack with a Flare Neos pumped up to 8k for game... fun playground times XD

Not only are his fusions pretty good in situations (effectively giving him the advantage for the moment showing his raw power to the opponent) but he leaves himself open to his opponent taunting to his opponent "hit me I dare you"
This far outweighs the balls of anyone in Yu-Gi-Oh history as they all keep their powerful monsters on the field not willing to allow themselves to get hit.

Neo-Spacian Glow Moss has pretty good synergy with Masked Hero Dark Law. When he attacks/is attacked, your opponent draws 1 card and whatever effect goes off. However since your opponent drew a card outside the draw phase 1 card in their hand is randomly discarded. Then thanks to his other effect the card is banished instead of send to the graveyard. If you're on the offensive then you'd want to attack with Glow Moss last in case your opponent draws a Monster (ending the battle phase).
Ironically Neospacians would've been better if they were required to use Polymerization or any other fusion spell card variant lol.
Their best fusion monsters all require Poly so you're not wrong.

How about a continuous spell card that said: "Special summon "Elemental HERO Neos" from your deck in face-up attack position and equip it with this card. If this card is removed from the field, shuffle the equipped monster into your deck. If the equipped monster is shuffled into the deck, shuffle this card into your deck as well."
What do you think? Should there be some cost like discard a card, pay life points, maybe mill to keep in the spirit of messing with your deck? Or maybe that it's sent to the grave if the neos leaves the field?

This solves all problems with the archetype while not being completely broken meaning it won't be hit on the banlist. I wonder what you all think of this card.

It's so funny to think about that 5 years ago this archetype was completely terrible and now in 2022 they get their own version of Tri-Brigade Revolt to possibly summon Cosmo Neos on the opponents turn to shut down every play they might make.

Dark Magician's Cousin Let's see they have 3 effect monsters one which is really not worth running, 6 fusion monsters two that is mainly used for evil hero OTK and one that with the right cards can have the second largest atk points in Yu-Gi-Oh history, and 2 fusion spell cards. So yeah not a lot of support but I still love them regardless.

I have seen Neo Spacians used in draw engines before. Using Convert Contact, Neo Spacial Gift and a couple of others, they got quite a lot of draws out of it.
They didn’t win, but I saw them do it.

+Sandro Guzelj I use a pendulum deck and you just can't use all your resources in one turn because the opponent can destroy your scale and sometimes it is better to save cards for later. Also, if the opponent nukes your field chances are you already fusion/synchro/xyz summoned so your pendulum cards are in your graveyard, besides if your scale if ruined its probably going to take a while before you can restore it.

Despite the issues with Neospacians, you can really see how their design impacted later Extra Deck mechanics. Synchos, XYZs, and Links are refined contact-fusions. Oh, and Neos Fusion happened.

What's so hilarious about the downside of the Neos fusions is that even the anime showed how bad they are when Jaden first tried using them against Aster, dude minus'd so hard to get Aqua Neos out, even spending half his lp to do so, only for his field to be wide open and took 3 direct attacks to the face, had it not been for his role as a protagonist Astar could have pulled any other D hero with higher atk and OTK'd him

Nah, Neo-Spacians were never considered good. Even when they were young, people were running Monarch variants, Diamond Dude Hero builds, Gladiator Beasts, Demise OTK... Point is, it's just not a good deck when it's based around summoning a two-tributer, summoning a weak monster, and then losing the result at the End Phase.
Hell, the only really effective Neo-Spacian builds these days are OTK builds - usually focused on Air Neos, Flare Neos, or Magma Neos, pumped up by Honesty Neos. Any Neos Deck incapable of an OTK tends to find its entire field vanish during the End Phase.

The overwhelming opinion was that the Neo-Spacian style of Contact Fusion was strictly worse than standard fusion, and keep in mind, standard fusion was almost never used outside of Metamorphosis and Cyber Dragons. If anything, Neo-Spacians were even worse back then, because the format in those days was so slow that losing a monster that required a two-tributer and a weak monster to summon would set you back so far that you'd be lagging behind for the entire remainder of the duel, and so beatdown-focused that relying on the survival of monsters with less than 1000 ATK was tantamount to surrender. These days, there are at least enough options that you can do them turbo and OTK with some reliability.
Neo-Spacians are not a good deck that time has passed back; they're flawed to their core. There are Goat Format decks that could overcome the majority of 2007 Neo-Spacian builds.
In Duel Links the situation of neos is SO different.
this is because a lot of things:
-New support cards like neos fusion, neo espace connector and brave neos, which completely carry the deck and are even useful for other decks, since brave neos can be used for any deck that wants monsters on the GY (and also in the TCG, you can use neos fusion to simply bring rainbow neos).
-Duel Links is played with 20 cards, which makes it more likely you're actually going to get the cards you need, and you don't have to waste the extra spaces on useless cards.
-Judai's skill that simply allows you to start the game with neo space on the field, meaning you don't need to worry about it going away unless your opponent tries to destroy neo space (which is why i usually have an extra neo space on my deck so if the one of the skill goes away, i'm not exposed).
-You have only 4000 LPs and only 3 spaces on the field for monsters and field spells, which not only means you have to get rid of less monsters, but have an easier time setting up an OTK.
