Don't really have any problems with the new kit, but i dont see why they had to change his model and voice, I personally prefer the previous ones and feel they are more unique and interesting. The only thing out of the old models that was a bit lackluster was his ult transformation, if Riot had incorporated the new design into that while keeping the old as his base I would've been a lot happier with this update, which wasn't exactly necessary to begin with :L anyway, just voicing my concerns, appreciate the comparison vid as always Squpo
The new skin is less sharp and more organinc looking, the old skin looked like someone just had tooked a armor and put it in some skinny dude, plus the new collor pallete helps diferencite him from noxus

However 'artistically' there was MUCH more going on in the old one then new, which is bulky with out really as much thought into theme-ing. The old was based on elegance and glory ect, all paired with his lore. This one much less thought and just going for another bruiser.

the dark red/dark purple works so much better than the light red. I don't get it, his old model was perfectly fine. His lore was perfectly fine. Why did he have to be turned into some generic "I will kill everything" character?
New staff probably and after they decided to write out the League that's there new way of doing things, lore means nothing now they'll change it willy-nilly when ever they feel like it. Expect nothing to stay the same,.

I haven't played new aatrox on pbe because I have over 200 ping on it, but the new gameplay seems better for me personally, I really don't care that people think he is riven 2.0 because he is not, he will work fundamentally differently because he doesn't have insane mobility or burst damage like riven, the only parts of the kit I don't really like is his passive or W because it seems his passive is gonna be pretty meh on non-tanks and W is gonna get crapped on by anybody who has better than bad mobility. I will admit that the new personality and voice is worse, but the new sword is less ridiculous. Also I understand why they made it so he has his wings only during ult, but his banner wings were definitely one of his most obvious characteristics and now they're gone. Also I'm sad they took away the halo from justicar aatrox.

Omar Nabulsi Riven Q is three mobiel strikes with the last hit able to knockup. Aatrox Q is immobile and can knockup on all three strikes if his in the red zone. Orianna Ult is instant and an engage ability. Also holds multiple enemies. Aatrox W is just one enemy and keeps him in combo with the Q. Lucian E is longer and cooldown lowers between passive. Aatrox is a Max stack of two after every two seconds. Also the only mobile ability combination with his Q. Swain Ult heals and damages all nearby enemies and triggered again, exploded and kills all in radius. Aatrox is a buff of damage to himself also giving him a revive if dies in the ultimate. Just because they look the same doesn't make them the same.
the only similarity between Riven and Aatrox is the 3 Q's and the dash the similarities end there, his W an Oriana ult? that's completely wrong its an original ability, his E is not a Lucian E that's like saying every dash in the game is a ripoff of Lucian's E, you didn't even try on the Swain ult Aatrox gets more damage and a revive from his ultimate Swain only gets bigger withe wings that's the only similarity I agree with you Jonathan Moua well said
yeah mecha aatrox is ruined for me his right arm is too damn big and it looks stupid compared to the original where both arms are the same size it would look better if the bigger arm was a different colour or make it look like an add on not the regular mech arm
Old was more unique all they had to do was rework the kit a bit and didn't have to remove and replace it. Heck they could have just tweeked the old one and add this new as a new standalone and everyone would be happy. Riot has a thing for removing wings, I'm not fond of this idea.

Lorewise his new look is totally dumb, aside from it just being plain ugly. Aatrox was the first champion that was introduced as a Darkin. In lore they even talked about a 'living weapon' and a wielder that was in perfect unison with his blade. The way his old blade bends and seems to suck out the blood of its victims during gameplay (even in the splashart it is presented that way) presents the theme of a living weapon wayyyy better. It is even stated in Darkin lore that the weapon changes the looks and other physical attributes of the host wielder, to try to mimic his original form. The orginal aatrox model + weapon look more like a symbiotic match than the new one: It looks like armor was formed out of its skin and bone, not like armor was slapped on as is the case with the new model :/ I am really disappointed with the new model, as it doesn't look as awesome and not even as 'Darkin' as the old one. Totally unnecessary Visual Update IMO.
I love old aatrox vut the thing is that hes had a reputation like urgot where no matter how good he is, he will be assumed as shit due to his history as being weak. Even then he was mostly outclassed by jax and tryndamere. Although i wish that they kept his model, i think the rework will clear his image like the urgot rework

GGsrLord wrong, other low rp skins have visuals as well. Even Birdio has a special dance and it's not even an epic skin.
The New versions of the skins need some extra polish, especially the recall animations on them.
