they eat it for the first time, thus the reaction is they feel shocked. but it is a fruit, grows on a tree therefore to think it's something bad that you cannot eat can be toned a lil bit down. it is a clean fruit where the leaves are green and the tree is tall. unless it's sago worm thats moving. we might get uneasy just to see it because its moving. but then again, we should respect the people who eat it. though i wont eat it, i understand ppl that eat sago worm hv eaten it since young so they are adjusted to the sensation and taste. durian is milky and sweet the more you eat it. the smell is a lil pungent to some ppl. fermented food or certain paste for cooking also smell pungent sometimes. pungent food is the food you dont feel like liking it at first but if you are adjusted to it already after eating it many times you will tend to crave it. the smell can make you hungry then. if we keep being open minded to durian and other pungent food and think from where it grows and why ppl can adjust to it, then our brain will not make us want to vomit
im filipino.. but even though i dont want to test it.. or smell it. but its good fruit. durian is papular fruit in the philippines espcially city of davao in menadanao area...
