Basically following your videos to make the necks for my guitars. I'm on my first neck and letting the glue dry on the scarf joint. I did end up using my table saw to do the joint, which was nice because there was very little sanding needed, but my blank is only 3" wide. Thanks for making these videos, you're an inspiration.

One of the things I love about guitar building is we all do everything a little different than the next guy so it's cool to pick up ideas from other builders. I just freehand my scarf joints on the bandsaw then I have jigs for fine sanding the angle. I really like the way you do yours it comes out really clean. Do you ever glue your scarf joints the other way like the asian style scarf joints? I've been building some 80's throwback super Strats lately so I glued my scarf joints up that way. I actually like it, it's growing on me plus I don't have to paint the headstock or put a cap on the headstock to hide the lines.

I've always done my scarf joints this way. It adds a great amount of strength to the neck. This eliminates the short grain in the angled section of the neck. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching my video.

what's the minimum size(inches)bandsaw you can get away with for making guitars..12"..I'm asking because finding a good bandsaw is like pulling teeth(in germany)

Depends on how you build and how much money you want to spend. A 12" would do well. I normally resaw curly maple tops that are 7" to bookmatch them so I made sure the saw that I bought could handle a 3/4" wide blade. I use a Laguna 14/twelve. I can resaw up to 13.5". Good luck and thanks for watching!

Nice clean cut on the bandsaw! I’ve got a similar jig for my table saw and think I’d prefer doing it on my bandsaw. Time to give that a try :)

ChinJazz I started out using a table saw but the bandsaw is better.

@@lesperanceguitars8381 Yes, I’m turning into a believer of that. I reused some of my table saw jig and made a new mdf base with 1/4” birch rail (screwed not glued), and will give it a trial run tomorrow 👍🏻

nice job don`t like the screw idea though good chance of it cracking

Actually, I stopped using the screws although I never had a crack issue. Nice even pressure and not smoking the clamps down will produce a nice glue joint. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
