Boba has a wrist laser as well as a rocket. He didn't want to blow up the entire skiff so he opted for the laser in that situation. Still doesn't excuse the wild miss, but it does explain why a laser shot out and not a rocket.
@@brandonweaver2854 Yes, but RoTJ was made in a completely different era of filmmaking where details like that weren't really something you could worry about. So I think it deserves a pass.
the reason chewbacca is hurt in the scene on the skiff at 9:45 is because originally, boba fett was going to shoot chewbacca, then go down the the skiff. additionally the scene where boba fett fell into the sarlac pit was different, with luke cutting off boba’s hand, boba turning around, holding his hand stump, then Luke slashing the back of his jet pack (you can see a diagonal slash mark on the prop when he falls in)
The reason Boba Fett's helmet looks "cleaner" in the Book of Boba Fett flashbacks is because of the green sarlac sludge coating the armor. The paint chips and dents are still there just covered in the thick and viscus liquid making is look greener and smooth. It's also why the armor is completely caked in sand when he pulls himself out of the sarlac.
I imagine Fett is dazed from being blown up a few seconds earlier. He makes several out of character decisions. His rifle is clearly made for sniping, but he lands next to Luke. It’s only so his rifle can be cut. Taking pot shots from the barge would have been a way better decision.
@@MakerMaddox except it isn't, simpleton. Vader would not have singled him out, or honored his wishes the way he did in Empire Strikes Back if that was the case.
@@GP.Records that's your head canon of a character someone says one line of dialogue to. And if you really interrogate it, he was reprimanded, not praised. So take your fanboy shit elsewhere, edgelord.
Regarding Boba Fett's armor, it only looks green because it's covered in slime and stomach juices. You see it's damage when Cobb Vanth is wearing it. The paint is covered in scratches and dents because it's places that he's been hit. It's like having scars; it shows that that armor has seen some action, that it's been in fights and won, so anyone who might want to challenge Boba is going to think twice. The reason why it was repainted in The Mandalorian was not only to help repair the damage from the Sarlacc's stomach acid, but to symbolize that Boba was starting over fresh. (Edit) Regarding when Boba's blaster gets cut in half; Boba is experienced with hunting and killing Jedi, so he knows they're going to use defensive tactics like cutting blasters in half. The design of his blaster is a little weird, so he may have placed his hand on the butt in order to steady the shot for the blowback. There's argument that Boba could have flown and fired from his jetpack, but between Lucas probably not having the budget, and the fact that Boba probably wasn't thinking straight because he wanted to kill Luke solely because he hates Jedi for the death of his father, we just have to roll with it. When Boba misses with the wrist rocket, in the book it said that he had a concussion from the blast, and was still disoriented, so that would have thrown off his aim.
5:15, I think the reason it’s a flipped image is because of a technique involving placement of characters based on multiple shots. For example, scene 1 could include Luke on the right side of the shot and the skiff on the other. The director doesn’t want your eyes to dart around the screen if in the next shot Luke is on the left and skiff is on the right. It’s a technique I don’t remember the name too but, sense the flipped shot is so fast here I think it’s probably better for snappy scenes like this. Probably just didn’t even realize and when they took down the set found out and decided flipping would be the easiest fix. That’s what I would do.
Boba crossed his arms when he landed because of how his gun is designed. You can see that it has a stock on the back which is resting under his shoulder. He probably put his hand on the stock as extra support for the kick on his blaster. If I remember correctly, Boba's blaster was very powerful, and holding it under the barrel may have been the wrong way to steady it. It could also just be for the gun-cutting stunt.
It could be for the gun cuttiing stunt but I see it more as an homage to westerns, cause the motion is similar to quickcocking a revolver. I belive that it's even one of signature moves for Boba
7:09 it's not a continuity error, if you look even closer, you can see Lando turn his back while the bad guy grabs him from the back, cutting to the shot of them falling and Lando swinging.
11:14 actually some Mandalorians have wrist blasters others have wrist rockets we see Bo Katan and her Nightowls use the same weapon in the clone wars it's rare since they usually just use their regular mandalorian blasters but they do use them
Interesting point about Luke's lightsaber technique. Anakin was so powerful he dropped all the other techniques and only used the brute force one. It would make sense that Yoda and Obi-Wan would teach Luke that technique to be able to fight Vader
5:20 in movies there's this thing called the axis, and that's the line between the (most important) characters (Luke and the guard) and it's uncommon to step over that line from shot to shot, because it confuses the viewer (watch the Joker interogation scene from TDK, they constantly step over the axis). So here, in the edit they mirrored it for this reason, and they just filmed it wrong and didn't notice i guess

At 6:50 you note that the Skiff guard isn't on the plank when Luke swings at him. The Guard is standing at the back half of the skiff and no plank was used at in that area. So this is not a mistake. In fact, it's very accurate. Also at 13:49, you show Luke jumping onto Jabba's barge and throwing a guard out the window into the Sarlacc. However, moments later that "guard" is seen screaming as he is pulled into the Sarlacc's mouth by a tentacle. But, it is not the same guard Luke tossed out the window. Similar! But not the same.
Maybe boba is using some close quarters jedi fighting techniques when he lands of the skiff and keeps all of his limbs close to his body so he doesn't lose them.
The relief art work showing ‘derpy Jabba’ is known as Scum and Villainy. I think a similar bas-relief is shown in The Revenge of the Sith in Palpy’s office depicting The Great Hyperspace War.
If you go to the scene in Return of the Jedi where Leia pulls out the thermal detonator and it cuts to Boba Fett drawing his blaster, his scene is mirrored

Right then, everyone is looking at the freakin' Jedi with a glowing sword, so Lando has the element of surprise on a few thugs if he's relatively furtive about it. 13:24 I think using modern digital video editing and computer generation technology, you could add movement to that scene. I think it's a really beautiful attention to detail that Lucas took the time to add using those technologies.
1:14 honestly it could have plausibly been a stagehand just tossing the prop to mark until he catches it the right way. the shot is framed tight enough to where they could have had a stagehand just off camera

i think thst the green bountyhunter "freaking out" or cheering is the saame bounty hunter as the one who helped train the clones of domino squad on kamino in the clone wars, he is the same species atleast
I have noticed that episode 6 is very inconsistent when it comes to lightsabers actually cutting thru things vs. lightsabers just doing blunt force damage. For the most part in this scene, the lightsaber acted as a baseball bat pushing people off the skiffs, when in reality there should have been lots of dismemberment.
6:51 this is the giy who dodged, he wasn't on the plank side 7:18 lando twisted throughout this in one fluid motion to grab the rope 13:44 they may have accidentally used a different take when restoring it 14:23 the baster was not hit by the blade but by the lightsaber handle 14:44 lando climbed over hand which was actually safer in this instance given that han was far more securely held by Chewbacca than landos grip was on the spear
ive read some theories on why boba fett was doing so poor in his fight against luke. in one of the episodes of book of boba he said that bib fortuna had "Double crossed" him. maybe during the party at jabba's palace or on the skiff he was drugged or otherwise drunk. that would excuse his sloppiness and poor aim during this fight
When Luke jumps onto the barge and throws down that guy exiting the hatch, you don't see the same guy being pulled in. Instead you see Barada (wookiepedia name) who was the first to go over the edge. 😁
To be fair about Boba putting his hand on the back of his blaster, he knows jedi slice the blaster first considering he saw Mace Windu do it to Jango. Why he went so close to Luke with that in mind... that's another thing.
Had Boba used his famethrower instead of his gun when he landed he would have fried Luke, Chewie, and Han, and this battle would have been over. ( well maybe Lea could have still choked Jabba in the commotion, but that would not have ended well for her). And, light sabers seem to transfer kenitic energy into the target throwing the person hit rather than just slicing them in half. (this is apprently also true of the junk Jedi throw at eachother during fights too, so not really a continuity mistake, just strange.)
Fett doesn't have the stock of his rifle up against his shoulder like it normally would be. It's resting in his armpit. So he would have used the other hand to stabilize the rifle
I think the reason why boba put his hand on the stock of his gun is he’s a bounty hunter so I think he’s seen other bounty hunters/stormtroopers get their hands chopped off while fighting Jedi so when he’s going up against Jedi he puts his hand on the stock and not the barrel
From 10:13 to 10:28, look at the bottom of the skiff, especially at the rudder at the rear. You can clearly see a line where the sand and rudder change colour, and as the skiff wobbles the bottom part doesn't move. That's cause the bottom part is a matte painting, put there to cover the scaffolding and make it look like the skiff is defying gravity. I also looks like they neglected to clean that up for the special edition.
I want to make my own head canon that one or two of the Jawa's got off the barge before it blew up. Then they contacted their friends to come by with the Sandcrawler. As I'd like to believe that's why Jawa's showed up.

2:59 I’m pretty sure that’s jabba’s financial advisor according to some of the guidebooks
Man this battle is so fun
Dengar is the coolest OT bounty hunter next to Boba he was only in the background most of the time but I remember when I was younger and I saw him in his most visible shot during the Empire Strikes back he instantly became my favorite
i think thst the green bountyhunter "freaking out" or cheering is the saame bounty hunter as the one who helped train the clones of domino squad on kamino in the clone wars, he is the same species atleast
Billy Dee Williams’ son Corey was a stand in for him and also a skiff henchman. Not sure if that was him in the scene you pointed out though
6:51 this is the giy who dodged, he wasn't on the plank side
7:18 lando twisted throughout this in one fluid motion to grab the rope
13:44 they may have accidentally used a different take when restoring it
14:23 the baster was not hit by the blade but by the lightsaber handle
14:44 lando climbed over hand which was actually safer in this instance given that han was far more securely held by Chewbacca than landos grip was on the spear
Boba did the thing with his hands because he knows what lightsabers can do from watching jango die
THE PERSON WHO PLAYED AS INDIANA JONES DID HAN SOLO TOO
Yes bruh
I like the fact that Luke's Wings a million times and all he ever does is batter people with his lightsaber.
Lando had to whack the gusrd with the helmet, because they were too close to each other for Lando to use the gun safely.
3:30 is actually a snail-like alien sticking to the ceiling. Species: Wol Cabasshite.
The juice bobba got from being in the sarlacc cleaned the scratches off it
The battles at Umbra pls!
4:42 the tentacle is used to anchor the sarlacc in the sand
At 10:57 just so you know boba was using a regular wrist mounted blaster :) not wrist rockets.
8:54 It’s because of the acid, when boba climbed out the sand sticked to his armor
Also, han is blind, but when luke falls you can clearly see how he noticeds him falling
ive read some theories on why boba fett was doing so poor in his fight against luke. in one of the episodes of book of boba he said that bib fortuna had "Double crossed" him. maybe during the party at jabba's palace or on the skiff he was drugged or otherwise drunk. that would excuse his sloppiness and poor aim during this fight
9:03
That's how Leon grabs the Red9 with stock in Resident Evil 4
5:37 i know i'm kinda late to the party, but i think Lando didn't want to get confused by Luke as some other guard maybe
When Luke jumps onto the barge and throws down that guy exiting the hatch, you don't see the same guy being pulled in. Instead you see Barada (wookiepedia name) who was the first to go over the edge. 😁
I LOVE KING GOOSE!!!
The Jabba the Hutt on the wall is the Ralph Macquarie concept art 6:36
The acid in the sarlaac probably started melting the paint, maybe?
And the way Boba holds his arm is a way to steady your aim.
I instinctually liked this episode and it’s amazing
8:42 the acid from the sarlacc’s belly cleaned his armour
To be fair about Boba putting his hand on the back of his blaster, he knows jedi slice the blaster first considering he saw Mace Windu do it to Jango. Why he went so close to Luke with that in mind... that's another thing.
The only explanation that I can see is that Bona was drunk
Had Boba used his famethrower instead of his gun when he landed he would have fried Luke, Chewie, and Han, and this battle would have been over. ( well maybe Lea could have still choked Jabba in the commotion, but that would not have ended well for her).
And, light sabers seem to transfer kenitic energy into the target throwing the person hit rather than just slicing them in half. (this is apprently also true of the junk Jedi throw at eachother during fights too, so not really a continuity mistake, just strange.)
Hey dudes, like, the Sarlacc's pretty chill yo
Maybe you could like, fall inside, or something
Fett doesn't have the stock of his rifle up against his shoulder like it normally would be. It's resting in his armpit.
So he would have used the other hand to stabilize the rifle
3:50 I think you mean the low quality home video releases by "original version. The original version would be the actual 35mm version.
I think the reason why boba put his hand on the stock of his gun is he’s a bounty hunter so I think he’s seen other bounty hunters/stormtroopers get their hands chopped off while fighting Jedi so when he’s going up against Jedi he puts his hand on the stock and not the barrel
I think Boba held his blaster like that because that’s how it’s supposed to be held.
9:02- Wait, you’re telling me that you didn’t know the acid from a satellite pit can actually fix chipped paint!?! Lmao jk
I noticed Lando but I didn’t know Dengar was there, cool! I’ve watched this literally dozens of times and never saw that.
7:43;must get annoying being outsmarted constantly by a Goose or a Gander though
9:04 Why does he hold his gun like that? This is a legitimate way to stabilize a firearm when shooting, you don't necessarily have to hold the barrel
