The soundtrack and character designs. It honestly frustrates me how much they got wasted.
Like, I honestly hope someone manages to Mod Marnie into Rune Factory 5 and flesh out her character way more than the gamefreak attempted to.
And then put some of these bops into a Digimon Cyber Sleuth 3 game or some indie gem.
The last Pokemon theme with the crowd chanting is legitimately one of my favorite tracks in main series history. I've been playing since Gen I and only got my copy of Shield last November. It takes a lot of time for a track to make it to my top 10, if at all, but that made it to my top 3 almost immediately. I will intentionally sit the controller down to listen to it for a bit because I know that I can OHKO pretty much everything and there's no penalty to waiting.

You know what, I appreciate Hop's characterization in Sw/Sh because he's basically "the guy who slowly realizes he's not the protagonist of this story, but is a side character".

The issue there is the execution because it ends up just portraying him as a pathetic roadblock that either stops you every five steps to tell you what your destination is or to just feel like shit. Poor dude got the shit end of the stick.

I’d say Marnie has more brains, she just can’t resist a good bop! Gloria probably has one brain cell for each instrument. Hop and Victor share a single brain cell, and all it knows is “Tambourine.”

The way they switch from "serious rival battle" to "tambourine time" is just perfect. Also I'm so glad you used the Pokémon League theme instead of his normal theme. One thing I love from S&S is that the rival themes change in the Pokémon League, I think it's such a nice touch. Music is one of the few things the game got pretty nice, that and the climate of battles and all. Wow giant comment, I think I got carried on kek. Anyways, great video!

When they both busted out the tambourines after looking so serious I busted out laughing. I love this series.
Imagine, finally after years of saving up money, you can afford tickets to see the Champion's Cup, the whole tournament is wild and exciting, and based on what they've done throughout the tournament, the final match between these two kids should be breathtaking. You see them walking out and you're getting excited, suddenly you notice that each of them is being followed by some girls, you recognize the two as being other competitors that had lost, one is carrying a keytar and the other one a keyboard? The crowd starts murmering wondering what's going on, next thing you know, the two girls start dancing and playing their instruments! Is that a prank? You think to yourself, surely it must be, the two challengers look a little annoyed. Then, the two boys reach into their pockets and the crowd goes silent. This is it! They're about to begin! But instead of poke balls, they pull out...tambourines! You're outraged, you were promised a pokemon battle, not a concert. You look up at the vip section to see what the champion thinks of this, and there you see him, Leon, undefeated champion of the Galar region, also playing the tambourine

I disliked him till about the middle of the game when I started feeling bad for beating the brakes off him so often. Took it easy on him from then to till the semi-finals

I didn't like Hop until I replayed Shield and saw he wasn't just exposition about how his brother is so tough. I think he would be liked more if he would shut up about Mr. Unbeatable Champion being his brother.
For me, it was how in every fight it's "Oh, you know fire is weak to water?" "Wow, fire is weak to water" "Fire is still weak to water" "I should have known you knew fire is weak to water" "of course you know fire is weak to water, you made it this far". Yes, I know how type match ups work. You don't need to remind me every battle. There's even text that says "super effective". He can like his brother, and he can be subpar, but stop talking to me like I'm an idiot every fight. He only needs to say it during the first battle.
I broke out in such a genuine and happy smile when the two rivals could still smile and bring out their tamberines together and goof around.
Victor and hop have to be my favorite protagonist-rival duo. They're just the best for each other

_I would love to see an anime just based on Victor, Gloria, Hop, Marnie, and Bede.
The story would follow the games but would focus a lot more on the friendship of the characters_ .
This is what I had responded to that string with:
No joke that would probably make a good story. There's even some great stereotypical characters with just those 5 that would work in some kind of sitcom:
Hop: the fun-loving goofball that has some not-so-bright moments
Marnie: the shy, goth, rockstar chick that cares a lot about her friends
Bede: the pompous rich kid that has a secret crush on one of the girls
Gloria: the cheery girl that's always dragging the group into her shenanigans (but the second she gets mad she turns into a genuine demon bent on ripping out the throats of her victims)
Victor: the baseline normal person of the group who is always the tie-breaking vote when the group disagrees on something, and is a bit of a dork
I could see Victor and Gloria being twins (with a relationship like Dipper and Mabel's from Gravity Falls, but Victor is only minorly dorky), and Hop is the best friend next door of the twins. Marnie and Bede strongly despise each other (to the point that they don't like to talk to each other), Victor and Marnie are both into the other, Gloria is blissfully unaware of Bede's crush on her, and Hop is possibly the fifth wheel that Bede's always trying to mess with.
An anime of this group being like this would make my year.
After watching the Bopping Series it truly cements that concept in my head. And now I present to you how some of these videos have played out in my head:
Bede: *is overly annoyed by Victor and Hop*
Bede to Gloria: "Can you please do something about those two?"
Gloria: "Nope" *giggling* "They're just doing what I told them to"
Bede: *flinches* "What?! Why did yo- DON'T YOU DARE!" *sees Gloria joining*
Marnie: *walks partially into room* "Alright, let's get to work on...what's going on here?" *sees what's going on*
Marnie: *walks away*
Bede: "Please don't leave me alone with them"
Marnie: *walks back in with guitar case*
Marnie: "Don't worry..." *opens guitar case* "I won't leave."
Bede: "...I hate you."
Marnie: "I know." *starts playing with the tiniest of smirks on her face*
_At a later date_
Gloria: "Hey Hop! Victor! Remember that thing we did to Bede?"
Both boys: "Of course!"
Gloria: "Let's do one for Marnie now!"
Hop: *pumping his hands in the air* "Ah yeah!"
Victor: "Wait a sec, won't she already be used to something like that? I mean she deals with Team Yell on a daily basis."
Yell Grunts: *pop in out of nowhere* "We're helping!"
Hop: *pumping his hands in the air* "Sweet!"
Victor: "But I doubt that will get any reaction out of her either."
Gloria: "Oh don't worry about that, you could say I called in the big guns for this one."
???: *enters room* "Why _wouldn't_ I join in on the fun?"
Victor: *grinning* "Ahhh...now I get it."
Hop: *pumping his hands in the air* "This is gonna be awesome!!"
_Cut to the group starting their performance_
Bede: *watching them go at it* "How do you like it now huh? Not so funny when it's happening to you now is it?"
Marnie: *looks over to Team Yell, the protags, and Hop* "This is fine."
Bede: *angered* "WHAT?! How are you okay with this?!"
Marnie: "I'm used to it, besides..." *opens her arms out* "I revel in this"
???: *walking in from the distance* "Do you now?"
Marnie: *freezes with wide eyes* "You didn't." *looks Gloria dead in the eye* "You. Didn't."
Gloria: *Cheshire grin* "I did."
???: "She did."
Bede: "Wait...isn't that...?"
Marnie: "My brother...Piers. Why?" *??? is now revealed to be Piers*
Piers: *starts playing* "Why? To support my baby sister that's all."
Marnie: *starts blushing from embarrassment* "Arceus dammit!"
Bede: "So what was that about reveling in this?"
Marnie: *swiftly gives him the bird* "Screw off"

I love how they both just stand there and then they begin to jam after a minute.
I love how victor and gloria have the same numbers on their uniform
Hop has an interesting character arc, he's one of the few rivals that actually tries to change their team around to challenge you, his final theme KICKS ASS, and definitely is a nice interpretation of the concept of The Underdog.
Now if only the game mechanics didn't made his fight a complete joke, it would one of my favourite rivals.
Game Freak please can we pleas have an hard level caps during rematches so that I don't have to bench my Level 100 teams to have a fair fight?
Or even just making every rematch at level 100.

And now, near the end of the journey, where Hop and Victor face off in the finals... The league outfits signify that you can still have fun even while doing a professional job. Especially Gloria, who is constantly giving 3,000%

Seeing Hop smiling when they pull out the tamburines made my day, he's so cute and precious and needs to be protected (also wtf? Why there's lore on these cute music videos, i don't understand but i love it)
After a grueling two months of nuzlocke attempts of Sword I've become intimately familiar with these characters, and realising how big of a moment the semi finals are for Hop... Like man, rewatching this after finishing that nuzlocke made me bawl
This is the kind of hilarious and wholesome content we desperately need more of in the world.
