Words don't do justice to this performance. Simply awesome. Sadly the fish don't fancy upstream of the town in winter . I fished peg 18 at Breinton a week after this catch and never had a single bite all day! And that was despite some much appreciated advice from Rory himself !! LOL...oh well, that as they say, is fishing!
@@catchmoremedia That's match fishing Tom, as you well know. It tends to be a lot more pronounced in natural venue competitions . The main thing is to keep your head up. As they say in the South Yorkshire pit villages, " It's not always dark at 5 o'clock ". Stay strong bud.
In comparison to average commercial fishery match weights, this amazing angling feat is like catching 2500lb! I doubt this record will be broken anytime soon!! Well done Rory, nothing short of river fishing perfection!
Massive congrats. Only problem now is that peg will be well sought after and will be very difficult to book. Secondly, I would have thought with that amount of fish caught, maybe 3 or 4 nets should have been used in the match for the safety of the fish being cramped up.
Agreed. 60lb limit on a commercial. Why any different on a river. Seen massive weights of chub and barbel in one net half out the water. Maybe it’s because fishery owners pay to stock their fish so want fish welfare to be paramount, the river is awesome and stuffed full of fish. I can’t help feeling same welfare standards should apply when weights are so big…
Wow! Would love an opportunity to fish this wonderful river. Hairyford is a good three hours drive I imagine. Will get Mrs Charles looking at axconodation
Amazing fishing but not sure 250lb of fish in a couple of keepnets is good for the fish. As would weighing in without damage and keeping fish out of the water for some time during weigh in!?

The right guy, on the right peg and it's jackpot time. Well done sir.

I agree with you about the nets but who expects to catch 1 net full on a river never mind 2 3 or 4 😂

Outstanding 👏👏👏
how long a whip and what size hook ?

Please remember with keepnets on commercial fisheries there is no flow of water through the net on peg 96 the flow is quite pacy,
Guess I'd need more than the usual 2 pints of mixed maggots I use on my local river for this peg! 😂
Which Public school did you go to? Rrrrrrrrrrr :)
Awesome Rory, very well done.
