Hi Dea. :) Thank you so much for the opportunity to win these lovely pencils. I have used watercolors a bit, but have never tried watercolor pencils. I love trying mediums I've never tried before. If i happened to win, i would love your new book. I colored part of the first page in The Buns artist edition, but it's so precious to me, I didn't want to do anymore until I improved my techniques and skills a bit. I have finally reached what I consider to be semi-intermediate. You know, it's funny, I felt stuck and a bit frustrated for so long because my pages weren't coming out like I wanted and I always sort of felt like I was cheating if I followed along with other artists, but after following a step-by-step tutorial Color with Claire did from Johanna Basford's Johanna's Christmas, I finally realized I am more of a practical learner than a visual learner. I'm sure it also has a lot to do with confidence, thinking I just wasn't capable of coloring as beautifully as a lot of artists and colorists do, but after following a step-by-step tutorial, I gained so much more confidence and was much happier with the results and now feel that I CAN color pictures I am pleased with and can develop my own personal style. The funny thing is, I also feel as if I have a better understanding of light, shadow, tone, etc. And I realize that something my daughter, who is an amazing artist, has often said is very true. Art is not all about talent. It's something you work at and develop over time. And it's not always easy. It does seem to come easier to some people, but even the most advanced artists endure frustration and need time-outs and can be quite hard on themselves sometimes. I'm not sure I would say art should or must be a blissful experience all the time since it does require some degree of patience, but if you don't quit or give up, the joy will come. I think art can teach us a lot about ourselves in this way and help us to develop more patience and perseverance. I feel almost like I've won a prize when I create something I love. And it is very rewarding when you achieve something you have wanted for a very long time. Surgery is Monday got me in pretty quickly just saw him again yesterday. 😃 he was hoping it would move back in place a little better but it didn't unfortunately. I truly hope it turns out well oh I forgot to tell you I don't know what the difference is between the Artist's edition for buns and the one I got so if not too much difference in them if I win like to wait for your new book because that way have lots of new pages to color once I can be part of my rehab get me better hopefully quickly. 😃

I'm so sorry about your shoulder. I hope you win. I understand pain. I was in a car accident when my son was a baby and shattered my right arm, which required surgery and a titanium implant. My son was 4 1/2 months old at the time and my arm was paralyzed for close to a year, so it was extremely difficult caring for an infant with only one good hand/arm. Without support, i dont know what I would have done. I have permanent radial nerve damage and it affects my neck and shoulder as well and now, about 3 or 4 months ago, I had this painful pulling sensation in my right leg and thought I had pulled a hamstring, but the pain got progressively worse even though I was resting it as much as I could and using ice and elevation and wrapped it. I didn't have insurance at the time so I put off going to the doctor and when I finally did, was told that I have severe sciatica caused by a bulging disc pressing on a nerve and will almost certainly require surgery since the medications I've tried and everything else I've tried and keep trying is not helping at all. At the moment I have a bad case of bronchitis and try to stifle my cough because I cough so hard I feel it in my leg and it is extremely painful. I really hope your surgery goes well and you make a full and speedy recovery. Coloring has helped me through a lot of pain, anxiety and depression. I honestly don't know what I would have done without it the past few months, but I'm not having surgery any time soon, and I think watercolor pencils would be much easier to use than regular pencils since you can just color lightly and then go over it with a waterbrush. Therefore, if i happen to win, i am requesting that Dea send the pencils and book to you. I'll order them sometime after Christmas either way. I truly empathize with what you are going though and wish you and your family a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving.

Surgery is Monday got me in pretty quickly just saw him again yesterday. 😃 he was hoping it would move back in place a little better but it didn't unfortunately. I truly hope it turns out well oh I forgot to tell you I don't know what the difference is between the Artist's edition for buns and the one I got so if not too much difference in them if I win like to wait for your new book because that way have lots of new pages to color once I can be part of my rehab get me better hopefully quickly. 😃

We had our family Thanksgiving already so one my my daughter's friends Mom is having us over we are friends she's always making dinner for me. I'm so sorry about your shoulder. I hope you win. I understand pain. I was in a car accident when my son was a baby and shattered my right arm, which required surgery and a titanium implant. My son was 4 1/2 months old at the time and my arm was paralyzed for close to a year, so it was extremely difficult caring for an infant with only one good hand/arm. Without support, i dont know what I would have done. I have permanent radial nerve damage and it affects my neck and shoulder as well and now, about 3 or 4 months ago, I had this painful pulling sensation in my right leg and thought I had pulled a hamstring, but the pain got progressively worse even though I was resting it as much as I could and using ice and elevation and wrapped it. I didn't have insurance at the time so I put off going to the doctor and when I finally did, was told that I have severe sciatica caused by a bulging disc pressing on a nerve and will almost certainly require surgery since the medications I've tried and everything else I've tried and keep trying is not helping at all. At the moment I have a bad case of bronchitis and try to stifle my cough because I cough so hard I feel it in my leg and it is extremely painful.
I really hope your surgery goes well and you make a full and speedy recovery. Coloring has helped me through a lot of pain, anxiety and depression. I honestly don't know what I would have done without it the past few months, but I'm not having surgery any time soon, and I think watercolor pencils would be much easier to use than regular pencils since you can just color lightly and then go over it with a waterbrush.
Therefore, if i happen to win, i am requesting that Dea send the pencils and book to you. I'll order them sometime after Christmas either way. I truly empathize with what you are going though and wish you and your family a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving.
