I just wanna share my feelings. When a lot of my favorite creators moved to TikTok and quit doing TH-cam, it sucked. And I low-key felt abandoned. it’s no body’s fault I don’t like short form content… And now that TikTok might get banned, y’all are coming back. It makes sense for you to follow the crowd … I get it. And I’m still here with open arms lol. Aware of the fact I might get left again. Good to see you here ❤
I think abandoned might be a bit of a strong word. lol. but just like any other job, it sucks when a platform you support tremendously leaves creators high and dry and doesn’t reciprocate. I don’t think there’s a huge shift in people coming back to TH-cam just yet, nor is this an instance of following the crowd….A lot of creators are intuitive and tuned in with what our audience needs. Right now it feels like another natural shift is happening based on how people are responding to the current climate of beauty content. I like it, however, TH-cam in its peak really brought me a lot of stress, mentally and that absolutely impacted some creators pulling back. I hope it does not ever go back to that and I look forward to enjoying this space on here again. 🤗

When it comes to beauty content I'm really enjoying the creators who have a signature makeup style, have their go to colors they like to dabble and try products they think will be a fit for them vs just throwing any and everything at the wall and seeing what sticks. It just feels so much more genuine.
I much prefer long form content. TikTok is cool, but TH-cam is forever. I love a chatty GRWM, an in depth review, a makeup tutorial, a fashion haul…it’s just more enjoyable. I’m so glad you’re considering coming back and making videos more often. I’ve always loved your content.

Listening to your analyzing of the shift TH-cam took away from beauty content, i remember way back in 2020-2021 it was more common for ulta beauty and sephora stores to be very empty once the quarantine was ended, simply because no one had any money to spend on makeup as a hobby anymore. I know personally i have definitely shifted from a more to very much less over the last four years! Just something to think about. Love your content i reference a lot of it! ❤️❤️❤️

What I love about TH-cam videos that OG creators make is I’m not just being pushed a product like GUYS THIS IS SO GOOD BUY IT! Og creators know their way around skin types, product formulations, packaging and descriptive language with SKILLFUL makeup application. Everyone isn’t doing that. I don’t need the beginner-friendly step by step thing… I come to TH-cam for inspiration and facts about products: how to use them (as they were designed to be used? or otherwise?), what’s best for the creator’s skin type and how they make products work for them. I recently have been theming my makeup because I lack inspiration. I.e. spring floral, femme fatale, clean and dewy, etc… which I’ve never done before! Inspire me, Jackie, like you always have!!!

As a new-ish creator who grew up with TH-cam I enjoy creating and consuming content on here the most! I like short form but it can feel like the one hit wonder effect at times. Also your eye makeup is gorgeous ✨🫶🏿
I grew up with you Jackie and I still come back to your videos as a 29 year old mother of 3! It’s like I’ve forgotten how to do these sorts of things 😅 I learned so much from the basics of make up to being a smart consumer especially as a woman of color. Listening to your analyzing of the shift TH-cam took away from beauty content, i remember way back in 2020-2021 it was more common for ulta beauty and sephora stores to be very empty once the quarantine was ended, simply because no one had any money to spend on makeup as a hobby anymore. I know personally i have definitely shifted from a more to very much less over the last four years! Just something to think about. Love your content i reference a lot of it! ❤️❤️❤️

What I love about TH-cam videos that OG creators make is I’m not just being pushed a product like GUYS THIS IS SO GOOD BUY IT! Og creators know their way around skin types, product formulations, packaging and descriptive language with SKILLFUL makeup application. Everyone isn’t doing that. I love GRWM videos. I don’t need the beginner-friendly step by step thing… I come to TH-cam for inspiration and facts about products: how to use them (as they were designed to be used? or otherwise?), what’s best for the creator’s skin type and how they make products work for them. I recently have been theming my makeup because I lack inspiration. I.e. spring floral, femme fatale, clean and dewy, etc… which I’ve never done before! Inspire me, Jackie, like you always have!!!
I've STAYED a TH-cam girl. I do watch Tiktoks but I feel like here I can really curate who I watch and I trust their opinions. I feel like it’s better for really connecting with people and it’s so much less stressful to create content on TH-cam now in my opinion. Mainly because it’s longer form and you don’t have to feel the need to cut yourself or content short for just a minute or so. It allows for more long form creativity. I really started getting into beauty and TH-cam because of you♥️
Yea!!!! It's been sooo long. GRWMs helped me push my boundaries with makeup and hair color. I don't do too much with my very hooded eyes, but I know where to look if/when I want try a glam look.
