    I want to say thank you for your videos. My wife suffered a major stroke last week and could only say hi and nothing else. Within 4 min with your videos she was able to clearly talk to 8 and a hour later able to do entire ABC's.

      You can slow videos down if you click the white gear icon on the bottom of the video.. if you're watching on a phone or tablet, tap the video screen, the white gear is upper right hand corner. ♥

    I am so happy😊 I just found you. My brother had a stroke. He cannot speak or sometimes comprehend. But he sang a verse to a song perfectly. But I think he's embarrassed. Cuz he doesn't recognize colors either. I hope your video will help. He had the stroke sept of 22. I took him out of the facility he was in. They did not help him with any therapy. Is it to late.

    • @beyondhighc
      @beyondhighc  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh Teri, I am so glad you found my channel. In my experience, it is NOT TOO LATE! I see people make a lot of progress, who had a stroke long ago! The embarassement is common I am afraid. That's a big part of why my class works, because people can get coached through the nerves, fear and embarassement so they can communicate better even when those feelings threaten to silence them ❤. I hope you will free to fill this in if you would like to talk about specifc ways to help him improve 👍 beyondhighc.com/contact-us/ He's lucky to have you on his team and I do think videos on TH-cam, setting a goal and some daily practice can help 🗣💪!

    I felt activity in my efected side of brain at the beginning. Around my ear area. 12345 was the strongest. Even opened my nose at my effected side. Which I'm thinking is connected to why I couldn't smell good in the past

      A lot of people in my classes have this challenge- but saying the numbers on time- with a little practice over a little time they are faster! I vote you keep trying. You can slow it down- do you know how?

    • @beyondhighc

      You can slow it down yes! There is a white gear button in the bottom right of the video. Clocking that will give you an option to adjust the speed.

    I am a stroke survivor do you suggest anything for dysarthria

    • @beyondhighc
      @beyondhighc  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hello Dawn 🤗 I have seen this work well for my participants with dysarthria: a disciplined routine of a quick warm up to start the day with a breath support exercise + and articulator exercise + a short mantra to try to remember as you talk through the day. Then a mindful discipline to pace yourself as you speak (so your artculators have a little extra chance to keep up with your thoughts). I hope this helps- I will put this into my notes about upcoming videos. If you want a short personalized warm up video, please email me at hello@beyondhighc.com

    How do you treat stuttering and Stroke speech difficulty

    • @beyondhighc
      @beyondhighc  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question- I’ll have to ask my speech therapist friends 👍. I don’t treat anyone, I do exercises and help people practice. I will say, I firmly believe a calm, intentional breath and giving yourself some grace and an extra moment can be a big help with stuttering. I hope you try that and let me know 🙏.

    Can this help with boxer speech issues?

    • @beyondhighc
      @beyondhighc  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good question. I will say in my experience I have seen people improve A LOT when they concentrate on forming certain sounds and words intentionally over a short period of time. I would say repetion is an important piece- so if you choose a challenge and focus on working that alone for a short period of time, you should be very happy with the progress- like forming the sound "b" makes, for example. Every day say "B" - look and listen to see if it's coming out well. Try words that start wtih "b" next 😀 .
