Carnival Magic Cove Balcony Tour 2297

Cabin 2297 Carnival Magic Tour, including multiple balcony clips to give you a better feel for the Cove Balcony. It was a unique Cove Balcony, because of the lack of lifeboats at our balcony. Enjoyed the lower perspective - closer to the sea, but did not enjoy the added noise from the front of the ship.

We just had a B2B on the Magic this past December. We love this ship, but now it has close competition with the Vista and Possibly the Venezia (January).

We have this room on hold for a Feb 2023 cruise! It’s our first cruise so we don’t know a lot. Just concerned about cove vs balcony and the placement of the room. Thanks for posting this!

Your welcome. Anytime you have a balcony overlooking the ocean, it's a win. Some people like the closeness to the sea with a Cove Balcony. I don't think we'll book another Cove Balcony as we prefer a Standard Balcony with the proper placement much more. Thanks for watching.

On this cabin tour of a Cove Balcony, we included to short clips to give you a fell of actual conditions. We were 90% satisfied with this particular cabin #2297. The room is standard balcony sized, but with the Cove Balcony. It's specific location had no obstruction from the lifeboats which gave you a fantastic, near standard balcony view. It's specific location was relatively close to the front of the ship, which became very noisy for sleeping, while we were cruising at over 24 knots in rough seas during the two sea days to get down to St. Maarten. Basically, what was happening was that the waves hitting the bow of the ship were causing a loud rumbling sound. Further back, the sound probably would not have been an issue. It was very comfortable sitting out on the deck, watching the sea go by (and the flying fish -- really, flying fish).

There is a latch that your room steward can deal with. I also believe there is a document that both parties must sign.

Yes, a lot of people actually prefer the Cove Balcony over the Standard Balcony. The rooms are basically the same, just at a lower location with a closer to the water feel.

You're welcome. One side note that we learned from our neighbor was that because you're so low, you can sit on the balcony and watch the "Flying Fish" - really, it's true.

I was just looking at Deck 2 Cove Balcony on The Magic. How bad is the noise from Deck 3 with the Dinning area up there ?

No issues from above. The noise was because we were so low to the water, but still it wasn't all that bad on the Magic. The noise we had while on the Magic Cove Balcony was a clanging type of sound, while the ship was sailing, so I'm guessing that something was hitting on the hull of the ship - could have even been the wake, although it sounded more mechanical. Enjoy your cruise. We're on hold until November on the Vista.

We are considering a cove balcony on Carnival Panorama -- but it has a connecting door like your room did. We have had awful experiences in hotel rooms with connecting doors (noise from partying people). Did you have any issues with the connecting door and noise? Thank you.

No issues via the adjoining door. You always seem to have an issue with someone nearby not quietly closing their balcony door and/or their main door. We did have a noise issue that was somewhere towards the front of the ship -- a loud thumping noise, like the lifeboats knocking (which was unlikely). It only happened during sea days when the ship was at full speed, so we're assuming it was mechanical in nature.

We are on a cruise next year on the Magic in 2294. I noticed after booking it that its right under the lobby. Did you hear a lot of noise from that?

Sorry for the late reply. No, at least when the door is closed. The only noise issue we had was the occasional banging sound coming from the front of the ship. It wasn't terribly annoying, just there. Enjoy your cruise. We are on the Magic again next January for a B2B. Ta Ta for Now.
