Thank you for showing both the old and new way. You pack a lot in. Mini lessons I learned here: - use CTPs to breakdown logical structure and support easy queries - use a site map to plan urls for SEO - creating posts via the menu??? what the... awesome! - custom query uses url slug. Ahh... - use Oxyninja utility classes, not just for layout but for RESPONSIVE layout. Wow, what a time saver! - work on cards outside the repeater initially. - reminder about the magic of absolute positioning, and TDIL about object-fit: cover; - cool quick hover effect - pexels and squoosh - insight into Oxy 3.8
You can also use a plugin called "Bulk Press" to quickly create a ton of new posts, pages, custom posts, etc. You can even give them custom permalinks if you need to. Super handy plugin!

@@Gearyco don't want to "ask" a lot, as your tutorials are always interesting... but maybe interesting also for other folks, I have some troubles setting an archive page (CPT Taxonomy), where you have an intro text overlaying a dynamic background image (of that particular CPT Taxonomy) and then the repeater shows the different CPT Posts you query... Problem is the background image of that taxonomy...
@@supermikemr Maybe use ACF Pro to add a background image input to the taxonomy. Then you can assign a background image to the taxonomy which you can utilize in Oxygen.
A quick note to those who are looking for the now missing "customize" button that's been replaced by "Edit Site". Go to Appearance > Menus and click on the "Manage with Live Preview" button, then you're good to go.

Nice video. Question: if you design a repeater on one page, how do you use that design on another page without recreating it? E.g., your CPT is repair, you create a taxonomy so you can have foreign Makes and domestic Makes. You want to design one repeater and show foreign cars on Foreign Makes page and domestic cars on Domestic Makes page.
You can make the repeater a "re-usable part." You could also just copy/paste it to the new page with Hydrogen Pack. You can also add the whole section the repeater is in to the Layout Library.

Lets say I'm creating newspaper homepage, have some featured posts at the top and then another section at the bottom, how to auto exclude same post at this section? Hi there again. I'm fighting with another problem. The offset of repeater. I have a layout where I would like to have last post in hero section, then repeater with 4 posts and offset -1, section and then another repeater with 6 posts and offset -5. I'm still not able to find any solution. The pagination doesn't work then. Even Oxy support doesn't know this. Do you have some experiences with that?

There are too many variables to do a single video on it. I've put a bunch of query builder recipes in the Inner Circle and show using it on various tutorials. If you have a specific use case, I'll do a video on it.

I had a quick question while using a repeater and the oxininja utility classes for grids. Is it possible to reverse the order of every second column like in flexbox? My cards inside the repeater have a columns-2 layout with an image in the first div and the text part in the 2nd. So far, trying to get them to alternate has been an impossible task, do you have an idea how to achieve that?

Hi, im facing issues in showing up sub groups with metabox and oxygen. I can't get those nested group to show in their respective section. Main group never been an issues but sub groups seems impossible to get to show in the builder. Any advice? Thank you very much
@@Gearyco Yes i can confirm, just changed to ACF for that specific section and worked without any issues, i'm pretty sure it's a MetaBox issue. I hope i won't have any issues by using acf and metabox togheter, for now nothing broke. Thanks for the reply!

I'm working on bricks, and I was able to replicate all this. Now when I click how do I populate the next page, On bricks I keep getting "woops, that page is gone"
I showed my wife Kevin's presentation of his @ 14:52 if you have to get premium plugins its worth it, freaking pay for them! My wife EMPHATICALLY said get the plugin!
Just don't get OxyNinja because I don't use that or recommend it anymore. My agency and pretty much this entire community use Automatic.css now (my proprietary framework). Much more feature-rich and user friendly and configurable ... automaticcss.com

@@Gearyco For example, when you add a custom post type entry for a make, it automatically adds it to a make menu for you as a drop down item. I would think you would need to skip the Wordpress menu system and just make the navigation in oxygen but not sure.

You can offset posts using advanced repeater queries.

The archive pages are easy to do with repeaters. You just set the query to default.

WPGridBuilder is the easiest. Use the native Oxygen integration.

When I was using Oxygen I never used EasyPosts. Always repeater.

Hi, im facing issues in showing up sub groups with metabox and oxygen. I can't get those nested group to show in their respective section. Main group never been an issues but sub groups seems impossible to get to show in the builder. Any advice? Thank you very much
I think there's an issue with nested groups in Bricks. Same issues Oxygen has.
@@Gearyco Yes i can confirm, just changed to ACF for that specific section and worked without any issues, i'm pretty sure it's a MetaBox issue. I hope i won't have any issues by using acf and metabox togheter, for now nothing broke. Thanks for the reply!

I'm working on bricks, and I was able to replicate all this. Now when I click how do I populate the next page, On bricks I keep getting "woops, that page is gone"

Just don't get OxyNinja because I don't use that or recommend it anymore. My agency and pretty much this entire community use Automatic.css now (my proprietary framework). Much more feature-rich and user friendly and configurable ... automaticcss.com

How hard would it be to make your nav menu just pull the custom post types?
Not sure what you mean? You can already just add custom post types to a menu using the default Wordpress menu builder.
@@Gearyco For example, when you add a custom post type entry for a make, it automatically adds it to a make menu for you as a drop down item. I would think you would need to skip the Wordpress menu system and just make the navigation in oxygen but not sure.
