    Dave Coleman has a lot of explaining to do. Why did the get the US get a CX 70(CX 90 with 5 seats )instead of the CX 60? And when is the new Mazda 6/7 Sedan coming out?

      There isn’t going to be a sedan coming out. Not enough volume anymore to justify the huge expense. But I agree that the 2 row CX-90 was a total fail

      On the AutoGuide Podcast, the Mazda rep basically said that CX-60 was too close to the CX-5 and CX-50 in terms of interior space, and that North American buyers would likely be disappointed with it. The CX-70 is a 5 seat CX-90 because they wanted to maximize the space behind the 2nd row vs competitors and that North American buyers like big vehicles anyway. The rep mentioned that the X5 and VW Atlas Cross Sport were some of the competitors they were looking at.

      The CX-60 is barely larger inside than a CX-5 and CX-50 is why.

    I really want a new rear-drive Mazda 6 with the straight 6 engine. There's a demand for it in other parts of the world besides North America. Besides, all the premium brands have sedans, wagons and coupes. Mazda should offer them as well, not just mom-mobiles.

      Same. Don't need/want an empty row of seats(90). Just want more cargo space and the CX-70 delivers.
      I was literally considering a Telluride and leaving the 3rd row permanently folded down. Then i realized the future CX-70 is way better for our needs in every way including ZOOM ZOOM.

    The PHEV is the one we chose and the powertrain is incredibly versatile. The one thing I don't really hear mentioned by reviewers (or even by you Dave) is how it behaved in Sport mode. It feels incredibly powerful with instant power and torque when you want to drive spiritedly or merge on a highway. Then you can go right back in to EV mode.
    The TCU update helped the EV only acceleration greatly.

    • @d.j.cantelli8074
      @d.j.cantelli8074 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree completely and have mentioned the same thing. My favorite thing about this car is the drive mode versatility. And yes in sport mode this thing moves out! Fun to drive especially for a large vehicle. Cam you please explain to me what the TCU update is? I want to make sure I take advantage.

    • @pazicjr
      @pazicjr 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Question, does the engine immediately shut off when you go back to EV mode?
      I'm wondering about the stress the engine goes through when it cold starts.
      Say, you were driving in EV mode, then floor it to merge on the highway, then go back to EV mode, if engine shuts off immediately, might be bad wear on the engine.

    Some of the subtle things like the tail lights are not extended from CX90 inline6 to the PHEV.
    Then, you have the space made out for the turbo unit anyway, then why not add jt to the 2.5 lt unit. It may help with both power and consumption

    Question and comment for Dave - why are there so few colours (mostly just neutrals) for the ND MX-5? Please please please offer some more bright blues, greens, yellows etc in the upcoming years.

    • @springertube
      @springertube 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question, this has been a confounding situation... such limited and oftentimes meh palette, and not necessarily the colors that you would think for a roadster. For instance BRG or whatever they have called it over the years (decades) has been reserved for rare anniversary or last year production types, when you would think it would be a regular color, especially mated with with a tan top and saddle interior. Wth? Also a lighter green, a lighter blue, not Motoman's candy apple blue (sorry) but more medium grey-blue (something European) than they've had. I forget what gen MX-5, but they had a one year I think sort of medium copper with a tan top that was very distinctive also, that was very striking because of its different-ness. I'd like to see some of these things good, old school classic non-metallic as well, something Cooper-once their signature treatment--oddly got away from as well.

      It's not available on the PHEV but the greige interior is. The Greige is in the Preferred and Premium and it's the choice we went with because it matches the light headliner and still keeps some of the black on the dash trim and center armrest.

    It would be great if Mazda would make a Made In Japan Spirit Racing CX-30. In my area due to bad weather and bad roads, I need extra ground clearance and a Spirit Racing CX-30 would be like the Kona N and people loved the Kona N despite it being a crossover. Also, if Mazda could release the CX-50 hybrid already, that'd be great

    I recently purchase on CX-90 PHEV on premium plus trim. There’s many things I like but few that I don’t.: the jerkiness of the transmission, it’s not smooth some times, it’s highly noticeable when backing up in reverse into my driveway and need to stop and go multiple times to position it right to fit in. I agree with the other comment that for premium I have to sacrifice on seating since only captain chairs available on those. Why? I have a family of 5 and will be better off with bench and only use the 3rd row as needed, in stay of all the time. Lastly, speed of charging. For the size of the battery, takes too long and does not accept DC fast Charging. In a trip will be impossible to recharge to get max fuel efficiency. Even the Nissan Leaf has fast DC charging. Will not list the so many things I love of it. It will be too long. It’s a great vehicle, just need these things to be tuned up and will have nothing close that compete with it. BTW, thank you!!! For not putting a CVT on it.😊

    Is it possible for Mazda to make a conventional hybrid instead of needing Toyota's hybrid system? It would be the PHEV but without the large heavy battery since it's explained that the car will act as a normal hybrid when the battery is nearly depleted.

    EV system and engine get very confused at low speeds. I own a 2023 BMW 330e and a 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV premium plus and Mazda has some work to do with the smoothness of the power train. Obviously it should get better but I have to point out 1st gen issue.

      Agreed. The trans needs refinement. I have learned it's something we need to live with and it's not a deal breaker since many other things are so great . The thing that bothers me more is the fact that we keep hearing a crunching sound coming form the suspension. Mentioned it to dealers and they keep lubricating it but it keeps coming back. Anyone else have this issue?

  • @shreyasghanta

    The biggest problem with cx90 is seat configuration. I shouldn't be forced to live with a two seat second row if I want premium features. Some days I want to take my family of 5 on a trip and load the trunk with lots of stuff. Sometimes I want to take guests along with us. You cannot do this with cx90 premium plus trim.
