- Scatman John surprising an impersonator, Shofukutei Shobin, on "Bakusho! Star Impersonation Championship (爆笑！スターものまね王座決定戦スペシャル)". The first clip used to be up but was taken down due to a copyright strike a while ago. Includes some more footage after the clip that I don’t think has been uploaded before.

John had severe stutter from a young age, he was constantly bullied and by age 14 to 45 years old he was an extreme alcoholic. He turned his life around and embraced his stutter and became Scatman John. He taught many of us around the world that if he can do it - we can too. Although he passed away in 1999 from lung cancer, his legacy still lives on. Im just glad in his final years he received the recognition he deserved.

Always saw the performance but never the interview! Was nice seeing it for the first time and more new scatman stuff 23 years after hes passed.
Scatman was incredibly popular in Japan, no wonder, this nation had good taste in music unlike in america where Scatman had the least success, Europe and Japan was his homeland.
Hey it may not be popular in America, but the small few Americans that do listen to it can agree that his music was fantastic.
His music was Euro-Pop so it's obviously why Europeans would like his music more than here in the USA. Hwoever, it didnt mean that he wasnt liked here in his home country, Americans still loved his music, even after his untimely death.
No, America actually likes good music like rock and nu metal, heavy metal, American indie and punk, and grunge.
British and euro pop music is mostly synthesised crap and overly flamboyant artists.
And I can say all this because I’m British. Albeit a British man who wishes he was born a Deep South American.
Don’t get me wrong though. Scat man John was one of the few exceptions in pop that I like as he has actual coolness, humbleness and talent.

Scatman John is a legend, but I have no hate for eurodance/pop music. Just recently caramelldansen has found its way back into my algorithm(mostly through memes) and i just cant help but move because thats how that genre works. I'm not looking for a deep meaning like in other genres
