Ever since I discovered David Carradine as a kid in the wonderful, unique, and original television series Kung Fu, I knew he was a special actor and man. I've never seen anyone quite or even remotely like him.
Have you read his biography? If you get a chance read the biography about David called “Endless Highway.” What a life he had. His father was a famous actor, Shakespearean and movies. The Carradine brothers turned out pretty good considering all they went through as children. He explains why Kung Fu could not continue. But what a legacy! Some truly fine work!
What you say is so very True as I too found the same in this amazing man as an actor and a man. I was Hooked when I was much younger as a younggirl and even as grew into an adult and still am today. I’m SO happy finding this movie and other films and things he was in, their for sure great masterpieces of All Time. But my favorite is and always will be his Kung-Fu episodes I grew-up watching and enjoying SO much. I’m thrilled finding this movie here with David Carradine. Did you know his father also an actor? Yes he was, he starred in 351 films, some were low-budget but still got credits for. And did you know how David Carradine died? SO sad, he was found hanging was ruled as death by asphyxiation wearing fishnet stalkings and dark wig hanging by a bar in a closet @ a Bangkok Hotel Suicide was ruled out, was like was a sexual act was going on had ligatures around his neck and genitals. His manager said he had been filming at the time of his death. A maid found him dead when she entered the hotel room to clean the room. Holy shit it’s like a part in one of his movies gone wrong. Was June 5th, 2009 I remember when it happened, was all hush hush for awhile because of how he died, he obviously was delving in dark sexual fantasies he acted upon that ended-up leading to his demise. He was 72 years old. Obviously he was (allegedly) hiring male prostitutes to help him do these dark sexual acts. Sucha sad’d tragedy.
I think they tried to hire Bruce Lee to play Kane, but he was unavailable. It's too bad that Lee never had a cameo with Kung Fu. He could have played Kanes annoying relative and smacked him in the mug.
David Carradine had the greatest captivating mannerisms facial expressions even when he didn't have any speaking lines was so charming. What a tragedy that we lost him. RIP

This is a good story. Carridine was a very good actor who refused to play the game most of the time. He really did have charm and talent. Kung Fu was brilliant. Still is. He could really sing too!
I've watched the legend of Tom Horn ,(starring Steve McQueen dozens of dozens of times) And a fan of both actors.... I love both renditions.... Though this is the first time ever seeing this with David Carradine.... This was different but still very very good!
Very watchable movie you do not want to sleep through. David Caradine does an outstanding job of lead actor in a story about telling something like the truth about one of the biggest whoppers we ever learned in school! There was really no one living in north America when we got there, remember?

No it's far worse nowadays, justice works the opposite way : when there is evidence, then the criminal is not condemned (or only to a fraction of the usual sentence), so that it's the victim who is sentenced and humiliated.

Nobody Real ever said that.. Christian means to be Christ - like & pretty sure the world hurt Christ a lot in every way possible. He told His followers centuries ago, few & meagre of statue that if they did this to Him surely the world would wound themselves, as well. He was never immune to injury nor expected to be.
I think the saying, “You can’t hurt a Christian,” was a way of saying eternal life is a bigger deal than physical life - especially relevant when a believer in Christ faces the certainty of physical death. I probably wouldn’t say it that way because it’s open to misinterpretation, but I take it as a shorthand way of affirming what Christ said in Luke 12: “And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.”
Great movie based on a true story. There were two versions: Carradine's movie dealt with Horn's life as a whole, with a big emphasis on Horn's earlier part of his career, particularly with his search for Geronimo. Steve McQueen's movie dealt solely with the later part of Horn's career,l as a "range detective" in Wyoming. Both great movies.
@ZAP It depends on which source is considered. some biographers source some people present when Horn was executed, who testify to Horn's innocence and that he was framed by his employers, who decided that Horn had outlived his usefulness and, especially after one of his brutal killings of a rustler, that public sentiment was beginning to turn against them; the publicity of the "enforcement killings" would bring unwanted publicity; at that time, the catlle barons ran politics in the Wyoming Territory, and were opposed to it's proposed statehood. The killings could complicate things to a point that the barons hadn't anticipated. On the other hand, other historians believed through the years that justice was served at Horn's hanging. The concensus today, however, seems to be that he was innocent.
Great movie and story.The best Western of him and Ritchard Witmark i,ve seen.He did not make many westerns.The other great weatern SERIES was in 1976 when we started tv in S.A. CALLED "SHANE" EVERY FRIDAY AT 7PM. for 6 months.

It ended fine for me, but I do understand your frustration. I always read a few comments now or use my cursor to see if the end will show credits, as have watched too many where the end is missing. Theres nothing worse than watching a great movie only to miss the end.

Richard Widmark, good choice. His best movie, in my opinion, was Warlock, with Henry Fonda and Anthony Quinn. This was a decent movie, proving that the winners don't always get to write the history.
Robert Redford planned to make the most authentic film on Tom Horn,a 3 hour epic with Sydney Pollack directing,but when he heard about this film and the McQueen one,just going into production,he cancelled the movie,what a shame,it would have been incredible,if anyone has seen Jeremiah Johnson,you know what I mean,what a great loss.
I’m glad I found this. This story and character is taken from the historical events of the old west in the United States. There was a real Tom Horne which did a lot of things mentioned in this film. David Carradine is perfect for the role and character in this film, he did marvelous job…👍❤️🥰

I watched the TV series "SHANE" in the early 1970's as a very young child. David Carradine was the lead as "Shane" I was and still am a huuuuuuge fan. Sad that we lost him, regardless in which manner or reason. I was very young when he left a lasting impression on me. There is only one individual with that "stage presence"
First time seeing this movie. Excellent how they stayed fairly accurate to the real history. Disgusting thing what those damned cattle baron's did to Tom Horn. They weren't fit to dust his boots for him.

I can never get over the criminal treatment to the great Indian nation. GOOOOD Film…. that I haven't seen in Decades!! So very well-written; well cast and well performed throughout, where "Mr. Horn" may indeed be one the Last American Westerns scripted involving THIS somewhat "old" style of Story Telling = IE: A western story with actually something Of Value To SAY AND Portray!!! David Carradine delivering a Classic "David Carradine" demeanor, and Ditto for later career roles of Richard Widmark, with Karen Black following suit with another "tight" depiction of the girl from "the other side of the tracks"..... All stylishly presented, albeit ending in tragedy. THX Suneleb.
Widmark was one of my favorite all time western actors... & David Caradine was a pretty decent actor as well. Saw this 20-30 yrs ago. From memory a sad ending

This version is better than the one Steve McQueen in it. This gives more insight on Tom Horns life. Great movie..plus, it was all set up to get him out of picture.
Never seen the movie, and I was a fan of David Carradine. My younger years were full of thing better forgotten. So it is no wonder I missed this one. But then, watching television back then was very low on my list of things I thought I needed to accomplish. Hell of a movie though, seeings how it was made for television. However, I really hate it when I get to the end of a movie and the main character get killed off. I guess I am a bit of an old fashioned guy. I like my heroes flawed, and my women less than honorable. I prefer to see the hero head off into the sunset leaving everyone wondering what happened next. That's what made Brad Pitt's Character in the, "Legend Of The Fall" so great. Did he kill the bear, or did it get revenge for the claw Tristan Ludlow cut off as a youngster? We will never know, but the mysterious ending allowed the viewer to wonder where he went if he indeed did kill the bear. Someone said in one of the comments, you never allow anyone else make you who you are, because then when they desire, they can destroy you. It's like when Hollywood's publicists make you, they can then destroy you, but if you made yourself into who you are, no one can destroy you. Tina Turner told the judge at her divorce that all she wanted was her name, because she made herself, not her abusing husband, Ike Turner. He needed her, not her needing him. I guess in time I will respect the end, especially since actual history proves he was hung, but I don't have to like it. What I want to know, but never will, is who, if anyone, caught up with the lying son of a bitch, Marshal Joe LeFlors, who committed perjury to get Horn hung. Rest in Peace Mr Horn. (If you were truly innocent of the boys murder) As for David Carradine, he was one of the best B actors of all time. His Kung Fu series was an all time classic, but he still was just a B actor though. Hell, we all know of a B actor we thought, or think, was great. David was one of mine. RIP David.
Yes, I was SO addicted watched absolutely every episode and even when there use to be marathons, I remember on weekends I faithfully watched every one. I use to have a major crush on him, especially the man Carradine portrayed as Kwai Chang Caine in Kung Fu🥋 However was a huge Fan basically anything and everything he portrayed as being. Let’s face it The Man David Carradine was very special, was a unique individual that had a special kinda spirit about him not only in his spirits also as a man. Ppl appeared to gravitate toward him, loved him and enjoyed his amazing talents as an actor especially in Kung Fu, connected with him even s the man he was. In 1972’ when I watched the start of the 1st Kung Fu episode, I was addicted from the 1st episode, 0’Yes indeed am sure everyone was, Right people (Heck Yeaaahh) Instantly there was just something about David Carradine he had what I refer to s a Kindred Heart, Spirit and Soul. . . . This miniseries' total running time is almost 3 hours. The missing scenes are (in total): -After Horn and Siebert leave the cowboys' camp, they stop at a saloon in a town and buy several bottles of liquor. Siebert explains his philosophy about women (the best are fat and sad). Follows the scene about Siebert's wounds. -At the fort, the night after the talk with Gen. Crook, Siebert and Horn talk while drinking. Siebert tells anecdotes of the soon-to-arrive Capt. Crawford, praising his courage, saying he must be a colonel by now. Follows the scene of they departing the fort. -After Siebert joking talk to Crawford to which he doesn't answer, they stop for a rest. Crawford then tells them why he is still a Captain: he had an argument with a General, before witnesses, and he was right. So, he was passed over. He didn't quit just because he had no other thing to do. Then, the Sonora, Mexico scene. -After Capt. Crawford gets shot by the Mexicans, a battle ensues. Siebert goes around them trying to shoot the cannon soldiers, but he is made a prisoner. The Mexicans propose an exchange: all the American horses for Siebert. Horn accepts, against Lt. Lawton's protests. When six Mexicans go for the horses, they find themselves surrounded by Horn, Free and cavalry men. Horn proposes an exchange: the six Mexicans for Siebert. It is done. Follows the scene of Gen. Miles arriving at Fort Bowie. -After the deadly Apache ambush, at a hotel/brothel, Siebert and Horn are called back by Lawton, now a captain. Miles, there's a small scene: Lawton escorts Ernestina to her house at the fort, and Horn notices it. They drink and talk about the old times, how Horn has progressed, and how other officers they knew (the worst of them) had ascending careers, whereas Crook is now an itinerant lecturer, telling stories to children about the Indian Wars. Follows the scene of Horn arriving drunk at Ernestina's house. -After Ernestina puts the drunk Horn to bed, he tells her he defied four men to a duel despite he had no bullets left in his gun. She asks what would have happened if they had fired at him, he answers they would never have done it. Follows the scene of Horn going to the rustlers' ranch. -After Horn shoots at the rustlers' house and tells them to leave, there's a short scene in which he talks to a young man in a cabin (maybe another rustler), tells him a hurried story of apparitions and Indian torture, and rides away. Frightened, the young man prepares to leave immediately. Follows the scene of Horn and Ernestina's breakfast in bed. -After the scenes of Horn intimidating the rustlers, there's a long scene with him and Ernestina talking in her bedroom. She is looking at his mementos. He talks about old loves, and tells her if she had stayed in Arizona, he would have made her pregnant and run away from her. She finds a cowboy champion medal and asks how he won it. He explains his first assistant, a Marshall, told him to participate in the contest while he and guards escorted the notorious Apache Kid and others away. He did, won, and right after that he learned the Apache had killed the guards and escaped; as nobody spoke their language, they didn't notice the plot until too late. They died because he wasn't there. After that, he started to drink heavily. And then Buffalo Bill asked him to join his show with his act, and Horn yelled at him (and at Ernestina) that he has no act and all his men are dead. Later, Ernestina helps Horn to dress for his night shift. Follows the scene of Horn killing the rustlers in their houses. Then comes the killing of the boy, and there are no more missing scenes from that point onwards.
Excellent commentary. I’d give my eye teeth to find a DVD or video cassette, in English, of this movie that hasn’t been edited to reduce the runtime down to less than 2 1/2 hours . . . .
Ummmm, not really. It's touchy enough for us to walk as Christians, and most just skirt the edges. There was no inference whatsoever to Christianity in the movie, let alone in the life of Mr. Horn. Let us not be led to believe that we can live as WE want, and bely the reality of the wasteland of Hell and eternal death,, or the Gift of Eternal life with the Creator.
Back in the mid eighties I met and spoke to David for quite a while. I came away liking him considerably and always felt that he was a highly underrated actor. This movie, however, is a travesty - total Hollywood BS from A-Z. With the exception of the 1960 version of Moby Dick, virtually every Hollywood handling of a historical figure, event, era, or a classic novel, is a disgraceful misrepresentation.
I noticed an interesting goof on the part of the prop crew at 44:49 when the scouts were in Miles' office. A Sixth Army banner hangs on the wall behind Miles with an inscription REGT US SIXTH "CALVARY" (Spelled wrong) instead of CAVALRY. Grammar Police strikes again! ;)
What makes you think that back then they couldn't just as easily have made that grammar error? I say it fits the human condition in the case of this movie.
Chris Bowen having served in the cavalry I find it unlikely that mistake would've be made since we've always referred to ourselves by the shortened "cav" it's been stenciled and stamped and printed for ages making it hard even for an illiterate to get it wrong.
Slightly off topic - Tom Horn's autobiography (written while he was awaiting execution) is an interesting read. It is pretty easy to find for download.
I watched this back when it came out, I was 16 then and haven't seen it since. I forgot all about it but it's really a good movie. I always did like David Carradine.
Based on the true story of frontiersman Tom Horn, Carradine turns in a top rate performance as a cattle detective accused of killing a young farm boy. Great cast including Richard Widmark as a drunk scout, Karen Black as the love interest, and Richard Masur as the sheriff. This made for TV movie was entertaining but not historically accurate, still fun viewing.

I love Westerns as a European. But I have noticed only recently, they are always SLOW, PAINFUL AND LONG Stories.. A 2 hour movie could have been spent in 15 minutes. Drifter - Girl - Bar - GunFight - Love - Leave Town - Find love - Set up a new home !!

This is a good story. Carridine was a very good actor who refused to play the game most of the time. He really did have charm and talent. Kung Fu was brilliant. Still is. He could really sing too!

Very watchable movie you do not want to sleep through. David Caradine does an outstanding job of lead actor in a story about telling something like the truth about one of the biggest whoppers we ever learned in school! There was really no one living in north America when we got there, remember?

Christian means to be Christ - like & pretty sure the world hurt Christ a lot in every way possible. He told His followers centuries ago, few & meagre of statue that if they did this to Him surely the world would wound themselves, as well.

I think the saying, “You can’t hurt a Christian,” was a way of saying eternal life is a bigger deal than physical life - especially relevant when a believer in Christ faces the certainty of physical death. I probably wouldn’t say it that way because it’s open to misinterpretation, but I take it as a shorthand way of affirming what Christ said in Luke 12:
“And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.”

Great movie based on a true story. There were two versions: Carradine's movie dealt with Horn's life as a whole, with a big emphasis on Horn's earlier part of his career, particularly with his search for Geronimo. Steve McQueen's movie dealt solely with the later part of Horn's career,l as a "range detective" in Wyoming. Both great movies.
@ZAP It depends on which source is considered. some biographers source some people present when Horn was executed, who testify to Horn's innocence and that he was framed by his employers, who decided that Horn had outlived his usefulness and, especially after one of his brutal killings of a rustler, that public sentiment was beginning to turn against them; the publicity of the "enforcement killings" would bring unwanted publicity; at that time, the catlle barons ran politics in the Wyoming Territory, and were opposed to it's proposed statehood. The killings could complicate things to a point that the barons hadn't anticipated.
On the other hand, other historians believed through the years that justice was served at Horn's hanging. The concensus today, however, seems to be that he was innocent.
Great movie and story.The best Western of him and Ritchard Witmark i,ve seen.He did not make many westerns.The other great weatern SERIES was in 1976 when we started tv in S.A. CALLED "SHANE" EVERY FRIDAY AT 7PM. for 6 months.

It did it again...has anyone else had the very last ten minutes of their shows break up and drive you crazy??? This is the third movie in a row this has happened to me! And with such a good movie, it drives me nuts!!!
It ended fine for me, but I do understand your frustration. I always read a few comments now or use my cursor to see if the end will show credits, as have watched too many where the end is missing. Theres nothing worse than watching a great movie only to miss the end.

Richard Widmark, good choice. His best movie, in my opinion, was Warlock, with Henry Fonda and Anthony Quinn. This was a decent movie, proving that the winners don't always get to write the history.

Robert Redford planned to make the most authentic film on Tom Horn,a 3 hour epic with Sydney Pollack directing,but when he heard about this film and the McQueen one,just going into production,he cancelled the movie,what a shame,it would have been incredible,if anyone has seen Jeremiah Johnson,you know what I mean,what a great loss.
I’m glad I found this. This story and character is taken from the historical events of the old west in the United States. There was a real Tom Horne which did a lot of things mentioned in this film. David Carradine is perfect for the role and character in this film, he did marvelous job…👍❤️🥰

I watched the TV series "SHANE" in the early 1970's as a very young child. David Carradine was the lead as "Shane" I was and still am a huuuuuuge fan. Sad that we lost him, regardless in which manner or reason. I was very young when he left a lasting impression on me. There is only one individual with that "stage presence"

I can never get over the criminal treatment to the great Indian nation. They were a proud and fierce nation of people who owned this land for thousands of years until the white race came to the shores. This version is better than the one Steve McQueen in it. This gives more insight on Tom Horns life. Great movie..plus, it was all set up to get him out of picture.
Never seen the movie, and I was a fan of David Carradine. My younger years were full of thing better forgotten. So it is no wonder I missed this one. But then, watching television back then was very low on my list of things I thought I needed to accomplish. Hell of a movie though, seeings how it was made for television. However, I really hate it when I get to the end of a movie and the main character get killed off.
I guess I am a bit of an old fashioned guy. I like my heroes flawed, and my women less than honorable. I prefer to see the hero head off into the sunset leaving everyone wondering what happened next. That's what made Brad Pitt's Character in the, "Legend Of The Fall" so great. Did he kill the bear, or did it get revenge for the claw Tristan Ludlow cut off as a youngster? We will never know, but the mysterious ending allowed the viewer to wonder where he went if he indeed did kill the bear.
Someone said in one of the comments, you never allow anyone else make you who you are, because then when they desire, they can destroy you. It's like when Hollywood's publicists make you, they can then destroy you, but if you made yourself into who you are, no one can destroy you. Tina Turner told the judge at her divorce that all she wanted was her name, because she made herself, not her abusing husband, Ike Turner. He needed her, not her needing him.
I guess in time I will respect the end, especially since actual history proves he was hung, but I don't have to like it. What I want to know, but never will, is who, if anyone, caught up with the lying son of a bitch, Marshal Joe LeFlors, who committed perjury to get Horn hung. Rest in Peace Mr Horn. (If you were truly innocent of the boys murder)
As for David Carradine, he was one of the best B actors of all time. His Kung Fu series was an all time classic, but he still was just a B actor though. Hell, we all know of a B actor we thought, or think, was great. David was one of mine. RIP David.

Fun Fact: Director Jack Starrett played brutal cop Art Galt in 'First Blood' (falls to his death from the helicopter). Also played Gabby Johnson in 'Blazing Saddles'.
As quickly as you can snatch this pebble from my hand. They found the best guy to play the part in my opinion.
This miniseries' total running time is almost 3 hours. The missing scenes are (in total):
-After Horn and Siebert leave the cowboys' camp, they stop at a saloon in a town and buy several bottles of liquor. Siebert explains his philosophy about women (the best are fat and sad). Follows the scene about Siebert's wounds.
-At the fort, the night after the talk with Gen. Crook, Siebert and Horn talk while drinking. Siebert tells anecdotes of the soon-to-arrive Capt. Crawford, praising his courage, saying he must be a colonel by now. Follows the scene of they departing the fort.
-After Siebert joking talk to Crawford to which he doesn't answer, they stop for a rest. Crawford then tells them why he is still a Captain: he had an argument with a General, before witnesses, and he was right. So, he was passed over. He didn't quit just because he had no other thing to do. Then, the Sonora, Mexico scene.
-After Capt. Crawford gets shot by the Mexicans, a battle ensues. Siebert goes around them trying to shoot the cannon soldiers, but he is made a prisoner. The Mexicans propose an exchange: all the American horses for Siebert. Horn accepts, against Lt. Lawton's protests. When six Mexicans go for the horses, they find themselves surrounded by Horn, Free and cavalry men. Horn proposes an exchange: the six Mexicans for Siebert. It is done. Follows the scene of Gen. Miles arriving at Fort Bowie.
-After the deadly Apache ambush, at a hotel/brothel, Siebert and Horn are called back by Lawton, now a captain. Both scouts jokingly advise Capt. Lawton to use the heliograph instead. Follows the scouts' conversation with Gen. Miles at Fort Bowie.
-After Siebert and Horn leave Gen. Miles, there's a small scene: Lawton escorts Ernestina to her house at the fort, and Horn notices it. Follows the scene of Horn trick roping for her to see.
-After their talk at the door, Tom and Ernestina don't go to bed immediately. They have a long talk, drinking coffee. She thanks Tom for rescuing her brother, despite Tom barely knowing him.
-When they are in bed, after first kissing, conversation continues. Ernestina tells Tom she is getting married to a boring man who isn't a soldier like her father and brother; she is tired of seeing death and just wants a man who outlive her. But now she is thinking she may be wrong. Then, they make love. Follows the scene of the Cavalry in route.
-The scene of Horn and the Cavalry tracking Geronimo is longer. They won't rest until Geronimo does, and he doesn't. It's shown several Apaches fall dead from exhaustion, and several skirmishes. Follows the scene of Horn talking to Geronimo into surrendering.
-After the Apaches are taken to Florida and Horn is knocked down by soldiers, Horn is imprisoned. Siebert visits him, brings him liquor and news: he'll be released in a few days. Siebert proposes they work together in mining. Horn replies Siebert will have his mine taken away somehow, and drinks the whole bottle. He screams he is fed up of being used, and trashes his cell in fury. Siebert watches, worried. Follows the image of Horn leaving, alone, and the transition to Cheyenne, Wyoming, 1901.
-After Horn talks to Ernestina, goes to his appointment and is told to wait, Sheriff Smalley goes to talk with her about Horn. He knows Horn was called to deal with the rustlers, what diminishes his standing as a sheriff; but he alone can't do more. Ernestina tells him he's a great man, but a terrible sheriff. Smalley is worried about what a man with Horn's reputation is going to do. He also notices Ernestina is different: she is wearing her hair down.
-After Horn has the confrontation with the four guys at the saloon, he finds there an old acquaintance: ex-Gen. Crook. They drink and talk about the old times, how Horn has progressed, and how other officers they knew (the worst of them) had ascending careers, whereas Crook is now an itinerant lecturer, telling stories to children about the Indian Wars. Follows the scene of Horn arriving drunk at Ernestina's house.
-After Ernestina puts the drunk Horn to bed, he tells her he defied four men to a duel despite he had no bullets left in his gun. She asks what would have happened if they had fired at him, he answers they would never have done it. Follows the scene of Horn going to the rustlers' ranch.
-After Horn shoots at the rustlers' house and tells them to leave, there's a short scene in which he talks to a young man in a cabin (maybe another rustler), tells him a hurried story of apparitions and Indian torture, and rides away. Frightened, the young man prepares to leave immediately. Follows the scene of Horn and Ernestina's breakfast in bed.
-After the scenes of Horn intimidating the rustlers, there's a long scene with him and Ernestina talking in her bedroom. She is looking at his mementos. He talks about old loves, and tells her if she had stayed in Arizona, he would have made her pregnant and run away from her. She finds a cowboy champion medal and asks how he won it. He explains his first assistant, a Marshall, told him to participate in the contest while he and guards escorted the notorious Apache Kid and others away. He did, won, and right after that he learned the Apache had killed the guards and escaped; as nobody spoke their language, they didn't notice the plot until too late. They died because he wasn't there. After that, he started to drink heavily. And then Buffalo Bill asked him to join his show with his act, and Horn yelled at him (and at Ernestina) that he has no act and all his men are dead. Later, Ernestina helps Horn to dress for his night shift. Follows the scene of Horn killing the rustlers in their houses.
Then comes the killing of the boy, and there are no more missing scenes from that point onwards.
Excellent commentary. I’d give my eye teeth to find a DVD or video cassette, in English, of this movie that hasn’t been edited to reduce the runtime down to less than 2 1/2 hours . . . .

Ummmm, not really. It's touchy enough for us to walk as Christians, and most just skirt the edges. There was no inference whatsoever to Christianity in the movie, let alone in the life of Mr. Horn. Let us not be led to believe that we can live as WE want, and bely the reality of the wasteland of Hell and eternal death,, or the Gift of Eternal life with the Creator.

David stars in other westerns movies.
Check his filmography. He was in several westerns, and got an award for his contributions to the genre. He also composed and sung country songs.
Try The Long Riders with the Carradine, Quaid and Keach brothers. Very good movie.

Carradine was awesome, you always got your money's worth with him. David made a ton of these B Drive In Movies, and they were all fun to watch.
Back in the mid eighties I met and spoke to David for quite a while. I came away liking him considerably and always felt that he was a highly underrated actor. This movie, however, is a travesty - total Hollywood BS from A-Z. With the exception of the 1960 version of Moby Dick, virtually every Hollywood handling of a historical figure, event, era, or a classic novel, is a disgraceful misrepresentation.
Hollywood is both a blessing and a curse.
It's just a fillum, for entertainment purposes only, don't get your bits and bobs in a twist, enjoy it for what it is,

I noticed an interesting goof on the part of the prop crew at 44:49 when the scouts were in Miles' office. A Sixth Army banner hangs on the wall behind Miles with an inscription REGT US SIXTH "CALVARY" (Spelled wrong) instead of CAVALRY. Grammar Police strikes again! ;)
What makes you think that back then they couldn't just as easily have made that grammar error? I say it fits the human condition in the case of this movie.
Chris Bowen having served in the cavalry I find it unlikely that mistake would've be made since we've always referred to ourselves by the shortened "cav" it's been stenciled and stamped and printed for ages making it hard even for an illiterate to get it wrong.

I watched this back when it came out, I was 16 then and haven't seen it since. I forgot all about it but it's really a good movie. I always did like David Carradine.
Who doesn't, brother!
Based on the true story of frontiersman Tom Horn, Carradine turns in a top rate performance as a cattle detective accused of killing a young farm boy. Great cast including Richard Widmark as a drunk scout, Karen Black as the love interest, and Richard Masur as the sheriff. This made for TV movie was entertaining but not historically accurate, still fun viewing.

I love Westerns as a European. But I have noticed only recently, they are always SLOW, PAINFUL AND LONG Stories.. A 2 hour movie could have been spent in 15 minutes.
