यह गलत है। अगर एक दिन इन टिड्डों को खाने को नहीं मिलेगा क्युकी इनकी जनसंख्या काफी ज्यादा हो जायेगी । तब ये किसानों के खेतों की और आयेंगे और फसलों को नुकसान करेंगे।

This plants are common even in India. Its true that this water plants stops water flow, but what I have heard is these plants are excellent natural water purifier. It absorbs heavy metals, toxic nitrogen from water body.

पर मुझे इस परिस्थिति को देखकर मुझे ऑस्ट्रेलिया की खरगोश समस्या की याद आ रही है। पर ईश्वर से प्रार्थना है कि जलकुंभी समस्या की स्थिति वैसी न हो।
हमारे भारत मे कई जगह खाद बनाने का सफलतापूर्वक प्रयोग किया चुका है।

Very very promising result. But I would like to see what happens after hyacinth gets completely vanquished by those. In layman thought, the insects too will eventually die out like bacterial colony on a petri dish, or they will find a new African host there to thrive. Secondly, water hyacinth is a menace but in small assemblages, they can provide perfect nesting place for winter and migratory birds. In northern West Bengal, I have seen it myself.

What if they breed with other grasshopper species and mutate? Biological experiments in natural environment is very risky....should be avoided as much as possible. There is a limit upto which we humans can foresee the consequences.
