The AirPods Max are stupid expensive, but nothing else out there does what they do - if you work with headphones all day and are switching between phone calls and Teams, the Max's (or anything with a U1 chip) are game changing, not to mention the amazing ANC and Transparency modes.
Yeah but they need to work lol mine sucked and after 3! Repairs apple was not able to fix it. I had to sell am and now giving the beats a go. That said, i did love the max for while they worked lol

I just tested these for the past two weeks and I think we are at a point where we are spoiled with a plethora of great headphones. I own the Airpod Max’s and even the WXM5’s. If I had to truly recommend one for an all rounder, it would definitely be the Airpod Max. They are just superior when it comes to ANC and Transparency, and a close second for the XM5’s. It really is just a toss up if you are in the apple ecosystem or not. Too many are looking for confirmation bias. To me, it boils down to just looks , ecosystem, and comfort. Here are my suggestions: Beats - all rounder, fashionable, great tech headphones as a jack of all trades. Will be my gym headphones now. They fit snug as the reviews suggest, but that doesn’t mean they are uncomfortable. All of a sudden because they are snug people are seeing that as a negative thing. No, they are comfortable - trust me. But all day? i would choose the Max or Xm5’s. Buy these if you can make compromises to every department because in the end, I really did not care too much about transparency. We did not have this kind of technology back in the old ones, so a welcome introduction of transparency should be appreciated at the very least. There was no reason to go all out for them. Sony XM5’s - obviously the best if you are an android user. Not sure why people keep comparing these two between android and apple users. It is obvious apple is going to keep their users within their ecosystem. I wouldn’t even buy these considering how close they are in terms of overall anc and transparency capability. It’s comparing peanuts. Comfort? Better than the Airpod Max; however, at this point if comfort is an issue you might as well just purchase some higher qality headphones in the first place. I gave these to my wife. She is an Android user. I am content without them because I am so locked into the apple ecosystem. See? I don’t care, I gave them away because I need the ecosystem prioritization. Max - obviously pricey but you’re considering them anyways, right? They are pricey for a reason and for what they offer, of course you can find cheaper alternatives, but is that the route you want to go? Then go that route. Apple is a perfectionist. The ecosystem is locked, and works seemlessly. Obviously that is a perk for apple users. Comfort? Heavy, but not to the point where I would say the xm5’s are any more comfortable. I still gave them away to my wife, remember? These are my my at-home goto headphones now. Office work, entertainment, apple tv, music listening, traveling, airplanes, bus, loud kids, whatever. These do the jobs like no other. Cafe and need to hear your order? These are the ones. Pick your battles and stop overthinking. Prioritize it not by price, because in the end, you are comparing them in the first place. Instead prioritize your needs by evosystem, looks, and tech (anc, transparency). In the end, I am now left with two: the beats and max because I gave the xm5’s away. I prioritzed it as beats is going to be used for the gym. Everything else, max.
I have Sony xm3 but the microphone is horrible and it is time to upgrade. How is the microphone on the three in noisy environment? I own a MacBook pro and use an android phone as my daily driver so the Bose seems really promising to me. But I need something for meetings and calls, as well as listening to music in noisy environments.
I can’t believe that not a single reviewer has mentioned the fact that if you want Dolby Atmos with TV shows (Apple TV+, Disney+, etc.) with over-ear headphones, this is the only “budget” option you’ve got. It’s the reason why I got a pair.

The connection between the hinges and the headband broke several times on mine wich was a costly repair. I hope this is fixed with these new model. Other than that: the buttons and (most of) the features are still the same.
The aluminum Beats Pro over ear is the only pair that never broke on me, every plastic pair of Beats i've bought always breaks on me. I'm done with them
They are right now for Black Friday on Target for 160.00. That's something I could pass, can't beat that price. If anyone reads this today or tomorrow maybe you can still get them at that price.
I just purchased the BS3 and to me the generation that are with the hard shell case has much more base and sounds overall better. The new BSP are a neutered version of the previous versions. My previous models would disconnect randomly which is why I upgraded.
Regarding the lossless audio I did find it interesting how I discovered exactly how it works. Originally when I plugged into my Mac with the USB-C cable provided the headphones connected via Bluetooth as well. So then I noticed in the control center/headphones settings I had to choose USB, which then gave me lossless but also took away the ANC feature. So it is give and take, yes?
Even though they are marketed at 350 I find them on sale all the time. So if your worried about price don’t be because you can always find them cheaper
I've been using these since release day. I really don't have anything negative to say about them because the downsides just aren't important to me. I really care about sound quality, noise cancelling, and comfort. I use them for the gym and they perform great there. It's never bothered me that they don't auto shutoff when I take them off my head. I just push the huge button and then take them off. It's a fraction of a second added to taking them off. The fact that they are plastic reduces the weight by nearly 1/4lb when compared to the AirPod Max and that is definitely noticeable over time. The one negative that does actually concern me though is that the ear cups are not replaceable. I have an extended return period of 60 days and, if I were to return them, that would be the reason. I really have no other complaints. They sound far better than the AirPod Pro 2's that I was using for the gym. The noise cancelling is totally sufficient, even when the gym has their music blasting, and I can comfortably wear them for hours. They check all the boxes for me other than the glaring downside of non-replaceable ear cups.
If these had the H2 chip, it would cost a little more but it would be an amazing set of headphones, but would probably be a little too good up against AirPods Max, which I guess why Apple didn't feature it in them.
The biggest issue with these is comfort: the Beats Studio Pro are SUPER uncomfortable. The AirPod Max and Sony XM5 can be worn for hours without fatigue or discomfort. Max’s, surprisingly, are the most comfortable, but have a Bluetooth design issue. Both pairs I’ve had have developed connectivity issues after 12-18 months.

I think the Sony Xm4 would be better at $350, but I just found the beats for $170 on black Friday. So probably worth it then for less money and ecosystem support.
Drop the air pods max 2 so we can have all the good features and still all the premium ones also. The beats take care of all the short comings on the max 1s but then are missing a huge chunk at that price. Max 2 will resolve these again
They should be comparing this Beats headphone with other brands at a similar price tag like Sony XM5, Bose 700 or QC45, or Momentum 4 wireless and so on, It does not come close beating the Airpods Max in terms of functionality and overall build quality. It's probably Apple's way to let people rethink of justifying the price of the Airpods Max and their upcoming Airpods Max 2nd gen IMO.
Americans get these so cheap compared to UK! In the U.K. these cost me £250 which is like $310 as of right now. Also £220 is lowest retail price it’s ever been so far.
The downsides here don’t really bother me. I think I’ll be giving these a try as soon as they’re out here in the UK (9th Aug). Thanks for the great review, very well structured and detailed. 🎉
Don't believe these "reviews". I bought them on day one and returned them on day three. The ANC is really weak, also the white noise is very loud compared to other headphones and on the right earcup the white noise sounds like it is pulsating (you can hold your hand against the outside microphones, then it stops pulsating). This is such a deal breaker.
Beats merch links in all his videos. Probably just a coincidence that the brands he earns commission on get consistently glowing reviews. Has to be, right?
I wasn't too impressed with the apple headset until I tried it. it totally blew my mind, however, I was curious where I can use these head sets considering we live in a world where it's a lot more convent to use the AirPods. however, using the AirPods in a plane when traveling is so impractical. you still hear sounds and you can lose them when you are trying to sleep. these head sets are great in those moments.
let address the elephant in the room. when beats came out it target audience was the urban crowd, and the other 20% was the non-urban crowd who loved hardcore dance music. Apple knew Beats was going to be a tough competitor in the future so Apple did what Apple does got rid of the threat. I don't understand why these reviewers are bad mouthing Beats, when they know Apple is never going to bring out or design something new or spectacular for the Beat band. Apple is a company that doesn't like sharing the spot light.
Apple trying so hard to lower the beats quality taking the bass away and decreasing the loudness and yet still they are better than air pods max at this point push the brand or let someone else take over monster did beats right til apple threw that 💰 at them
How can these headphones get a non biased review when all these tech channels there wearing Apple Watch and using Apple Products??? I don’t think they can!!!
For $200 cheaper than the AirPods Max, I can live with the missing features of the Beats Studio headphones. I’d have to try out a pair and compare them to my AirPods Pro 2’s.
Apple's W1 chip, originally released in February 10 2017, with the Beats X in Beast Solo3 Wireless, Beats Studio Wireless, and Apple AirPods, allowed for easy... pairing between your headphones and Apple devices, managing the connection between the two earphones and processing the audio signals sent by your device.

let address the elephant in the room. when beats came out it target audience was the urban crowd, and the other 20% was the non-urban crowd who loved hardcore dance music. Apple knew Beats was going to be a tough competitor in the future so Apple did what Apple does got rid of the threat. I don't understand why these reviewers are bad mouthing Beats, when they know Apple is never going to bring out or design something new or spectacular for the Beat band. Apple is a company that doesn't like sharing the spot light.
before watching i don't think they are trying to be "airpod-max killers " i really feel they are gym headphones lol
Apple trying so hard to lower the beats quality taking the bass away and decreasing the loudness and yet still they are better than air pods max at this point push the brand or let someone else take over monster did beats right til apple threw that 💰 at them
just the best!
Returned them 5 days ago!! I can’t justify the price of them for the mediocre sound and plastic creaky build🤷🏽♀️👎🏽
these def don't sound like $350 lol stop I have them. This is about $100 worth of sound possibly
The ear cups on the beats ARE REPLACEABLE.
$169 Amazon
Looks like terrible build quality, don’t seem durable and long lasting at all… 😅
I’ll wait for the AirPods Max 2
Tell me about it. Been through so many pairs; hope nobody gets Beats Studio Pro.
Third lol
Ordered a pair on friday xD
No W1 chip or multi point connection on the new $350 Beats Studio Pro Headphones should be a crime.
Apple's W1 chip, originally released in February 10 2017, with the Beats X in Beast Solo3 Wireless, Beats Studio Wireless, and Apple AirPods, allowed for easy... pairing between your headphones and Apple devices, managing the connection between the two earphones and processing the audio signals sent by
your device.
Apple quad chip name exterm. But not good. I. Think. New name. Apple super ultra chip
etymotic, shure, audeze, focal, grado ALL blow this trash out of the water....
To think Galloping/ frolicking in a collared button-down shirt is equivalent to working out is laughable and disingenuous. please go to a gym where ppl are lifting/dropping weights, they're playing music etc.
They are very bad and feel cheap.. This is probably a sponosored video, like many of them.
First!
ear garbage just like air pods.....mediocre at best. great if you have a tin ear!!!
They look so cheap. And dated design
Disagree
Look around at the other options they all suck
