I keep imagining a triple threat of a copper, bronze, and silver dragons singing this. All Ancient. Copper Dragons are the Bardic Dragons of DnD, you give them a good story or a song, say a shanty, and they will consider you a lifelong friend. Bronze Dragons are Coastal Dragons, eager to help humanoids of all types. It would be a shame if they didn't know a shanty from talking and singing with sailors. Silver Dragons are the most Sociable of all dragons. They indulge in everything humanoid; their culture, their work, their buildings, their magic. Of course they would know a shanty. The image in my head is like. an assaulting army of hundreds of thousands, sailing in on forty-something ships, then these three massive reptiles of metal and frightening size come along and sing this. Little does the assaulting army know, this is a signal. A gathered militia of thieves and beggars numbering tens of thousands starts throwing rocks, shooting arrows, and slinging a spell or two from the city walls. Buccaneers start dropping down, slaughtering crews and sinking ships rains of arrows and grapeshot rain from on high. The cities military and citizens hoists the colors of their nation. and the enemy hoists the colors of their own blood.
