Food does not look good at all

It goes without saying that everything there is gorgeous and the food looks amazing, but can I give some props to your music selections for your Cuba videos? Love them. Have fun!
Just got back from Melia Cayo Coco first week in May 2023. Unfortunately between Covid and the Russian invasion of Ukraine the food situation at the resort has become pretty dismal. Beach was fantastic with only a little bit of seaweed after a storm. Shortages of even bananas, white wine, fries, vegetables, bacon etc. Very little variety in the food and only had lobster once in the week and never saw mashed potatoes. No mustard or ketchup so bring your own. A lot of pork and chicken (almost always cooked same way) if that is your thing. I wish we had the food spread shown in this video. One lunch the buffet was identical to the night's dinner before (I do mean identical). Staff very hard working though! America needs to lift the embargo and help the Cuban people.
Funny enough the area where Ken is sitting in this video had a problem with cockroaches crawling around when we were there. On the floors and walls. Kind of understandable considering it is a tropical island.
Thank you for this review Ken. I'm thinking of going to this hotel for my next vacay in 5 days! Still haven't booked yet. lol. Hesitating between Riu Palace Tropical Bay in Jamaica and this hotel. 🤗

This is an impressive buffet and congrats on embracing fish Ken. Much moreso than the econo resort we frequent . I enjoyed the food there and giggle at those who never ate anything but pasta because they were to squeamish to try fish and the other abundant local foods. Can't wait to return to these beautiful people!
look great and complet if you consider Cuba has hard time for food.
Airline companies flying to Cuba from cold northern countries should offer "lockers, storage" at departure so that you don't have to carry your heavy winter coats, gloves, hats and all that good cold weather stuff! That would save most of us the price of extra suitcase and most importantly space on the plane. I can't believe you picked at the sardines. I just made some for dinner this evening and the small bones are the best "things" to eat. Great videos in Cuba. Sorry I am late in responding. Happy holidays to your entire family and friends.

I'm in the US and I've been wanting to go there for a week! But unfortunately, we have restrictions. I can book the room for the week but can't fly there from Detroit 😥😔
Ken, my wife and I were just queezing at watching you eat those Sardines with bones. We travel to some All Inclusives in the Mexican Riveria Maya and would have both walked out being served fish like that. Ken, stay away from Cuba, all they do is try to pass food onto you that most would not eat plus the Gov just imprisoned hundreds of young protesters just looking to speak freely. I would never spend money to a country like that which does not allow it's Citizens to protest peacefully . Yes the Riveria Maya in Mexico might cost more, but then you are not helping crutch up a Communist Dictatorship in Cuba.....
Let the people decide, sardines like that are a delicacy... you are kidding me. Learn to eat a fish.. i admit Ken needs a few lessons lol.
LOL looks like you and Ken have never seen fish not on a styrofoam tray before HAHAHA! Delicious FRESH trout or salmon streamside would probably strike you unconscious. Stick your thumbs in the body cavity to spread it open. Peel out the spine and rib bones in one movement. My heart weeps for the Downton Abbey crowd. Enjoy taking your life in your hands in Mexico Niel ;-)

Really? What do you think about the Canadian PM Castro Junior stomping on Canadians rights to protest. You are also an American so I'm pretty sure you've never been to Cuba so you have no frame of reference.

You should go to Lenny’s in Cayo Coco for a lunch or dinner they have an amazing Lobster dinner and the restaurant is right on the water beautiful setting. It was my favourite spot in Cayo Coco. Enjoy your trip.
