Is it just me, or did he start talking about burnout and his families concern and comments and also him, running away from life, but he never finished his thoughts there. Left us on a cliffhanger. 😊
@EverydaySandro I know. I am the same. We definitely need a video of you, talking about the main theme of this video. Burnout, thoughts. Living while traveling seems to be something one should not Burnout from as compared to a generic 9-5, office, 1 location most of the year.
Sandro! You are so inspiring, I love your videos about your “road trip.” There’s enough material there for you to write a book! Stay safe! Pierre in Taipei, traveling too!
A2Z makes a CCS2 to NACS adapter, they are quite well known for making a CCS1 adapter to NACS before Tesla did. And the charging network outside of Tesla is a lot more reliable in Europe versus in the US. You may also want to look into aftermarket CarPlay/Android Auto adapters that will show in the web browser on the main touchscreen or one that is a separate unit.
There are NACS -> CCS2 adapters. If you are going to another continent, I would suggest getting 2 adapters cause if one fails you are NOT in a good situation. You can't buy NACS -> CCS2 adapters in stores here, you'd have to order online and wait. Maybe a week, maybe two..
Hi Sandro, are you planning an in depth video on the solar panels on the X. Really would love to hear more about this (investment, how it looks, practical stuff like washing the car, how the set-up will be etc..). All the best to you sir!

Hi Sandro: This was an interesting entry. Like you're talking through your thoughts at this "cross-roads" -- continue to be pulled forward into some of the most unusual adventures as a solo traveler in an electric vehicle, or re-think the whole thing. Hope it starts to become clearer for you.
I just made it to Playa Del Carmen. There was plenty on level 2 charging to get out the Yucatan peninsula. Going to South America is going to be a real challenge.
@EverydaySandro I did the TIP. They just needed the registration, which funny story. I accidentally brought my trailer reg and had to have the car's overnighted, and that cost me a couple of days. They didn't check for insurance. But of course, they also checked passport and visa. I got the visa at the same time.
Going to South America requires putting car on a boat. For the dedicated, drive to southern tip of Panama, then back north to Colon. Put car on a freight ship. Venezuelan is closest, but potentially problematic. You’d want to research where you want to take car off of boat.
I enjoy and appreciate your videos. I’m concerned after watching the video about your mental state. I would suggest you re enter civilization and spend some time focused around people and working. Build a sense of worth in that sense then enjoy more time on the road. Balance is importantly and I personally believe you are leaning one way hard and should consider re centering a bit. Hope this helps. Much respect snd best wishes. Just honest feedback meant to help and not hurt.
Thank you for your concern! I appreciate the honest feedback, as it really helps with perspective. I am doing great, just wanted to word it out and reflect
xo overland I believe has a TH-cam video on ferrying the Darien gap. They talk about hiring a person to help with the paperwork. That is apparently difficult if you don’t have someone down there to help with the legal logistics.
Hi, enjoying your vids greatly. I'm sure you are aware there are adapters you will be able to use with CCS and J1772 such as Lectron - CCS to Tesla Adapter. Just make sure you got all those ducks in order before shipping into other continents. I'd be more concerned with possible repair issues as mechanics there being great improvising with ice vehicles might be very likely stomped by Tesla if something fails and waiting for repairs/parts in so-so areas is something to consider. We do not want you to disappear :) You know it happens, and with cars with much smaller price tags. Be wise, be safe and remain creative ! 😀
That's 100% true. Charging problems can be solved with adapters (additional advice: if possible test them before leaving North America, some of them are not working as promised). The real challenge is getting your car repaired outside of North America. Mechanical problems can often be solved. Everybody knows how to weld in Latin America. But problems with electric components will take a lot of time to fix. You have to order parts from North America or Europe, wait for the parts to arrive (typically at least 1 month including customs clearance), and then either fix it yourself or transport your car to the next large capital city. Outside of cities like Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, San Jose nobody knows how to fix an EV. But of course, with enough time (and money) everything can be fixed.
Look into the Hummer EV. Larger and opens up some new activities. I’m trying to decide between Tesla (Y or X), Hummer EV, or E-Transit. All have ups and downs.
It’s a great option and I’m sure the space would be amazing for overlanding. Only thing, it’s very inefficient and can’t drive on many roads because of the shear weight
Hi Sandro, I can probably help you with the adaptors and try to support you off the record, please send me a PM so we get in contact. Go on with the trip!! I'm from Argentina and currently working in Tesla Norway, I have a MX and you inspired me to convert it on a "campervan". I have future plans to travel around Europe and then ship the MX to USA and go down to Argentina :)
I am concerned that traveling other countries by car has changed since 2020. The pandemic has created more poverty it seems that at least most Americans don’t see as we were pretty sheltered in that we all had vaccines available to us and a stronger economy. Other countries especially in Latin America weren’t so lucky. This has created more desperation and possibly more chance for travelers to fall victim to crime. I would want to travel without a car first to Latin America before I took an expensive car down there.
It’s a very fair point that you have, and it’s something I am considering. I have been following a few travelers through Central America and getting their advice and knowledge

My mind is very much ADHD, so talking about one aspect quickly leads to another. A lot of prep work, so taking the proper time to plan

A2Z ev shop has a CCS2 to NACS Adapter, still stuff to look at to make sure it works across the board, but it "should" be possible.

I have heard that, and it seems Overland Embassy is the company to contact in Panama. Thank you for the information
What is done is changing the charge port and map config, etc. I am planning to bring mine from EU to US in the future.
Does Tesla retrofit them? They haven’t really been helpful just avoidant..:/
@@EverydaySandro Tesla definitely doesn't, but third party shops can.
