As a traveler from the future, it is so funny seeing this videos after watching the Duty Eternal and Legendary series. I came back to hear a bit more of the story stuff. It is odd hearing the reasoning for some of the gear and talent choices knowing the balance changes and tactic changes coming.
Seeing as we have good xcom warhammer games, I say the next warhammer xcom like game should focus on the deathwatch chapter they are a mix of all chapters and can make for very interesting combos and attack moves or a xcom game based on the raven guard during the Horus heresy
Deathwatch would actually be a great idea.
I would like a fking adeptus custodes game. Space marines are cool and all but the golden boys deserve attention
That reminds me there should a warhammer xcom game focused on the sisters of silence and custodes holding back the tide of deamons attacking the imperial palace during the Horus heresy.
I would love to see that. The old Deathwatch game was kinda meh, but ever since I played the pen and paper Deathwatch I have wanted a video game version. Maybe with custom missions made by other players.
I mean the Deathwatch (chamber militant of the Ordo Xenos, the Alien Hunters) vs Genestealer Cults would probably be the most fitting setting for a XCOM game out of 40k. Also due to their veteran and ad-hoc nature, the Deathwatch are even more individualistic than the Grey Knights, leaving immense room for customization.
I've really started liking armor with Focus on a Justicar with a Force Staff. The Force Staff has a 25% chance to cast Aegis Shield, which takes into account any bonuses you purchased. Focus can increase that chance so you have pretty good odds of auto casting it, saving you AP for other actions
I was about to say The Emperor would probably have a big problem with his worship.
I wonder if Row-boat Girly-man mentioned this, upon his return?

Late to the party, but really enjoying this series! The troops feel a bit OP at the moment, but I wonder if that is a trap :)
I haven't got access to upgrades yet so maybe it doesn't work like I think it does but if those upgrades add to the base ability then that Grey Blade is insane as it would have 20% base crit with 40% extra on force strike, put that on an interceptor with their crit bonuses and you can basically get 100% crit on most enemies with force strike. saving 1 WP with Hammerhand
It would seem the ideal strategy would be to create a crack team who's levels all go to non-willpower perks. Just load up on as many passives as possible.
Those would also be usefull to keep the Warp Surge bar small.

Because I don't feel the need to rush to equip them. I'm already finding the game too easy so to spend time making our squads optimal each and every time is wasted effort. I'll equip stuff when I swap units around or want to exploit a particular combo or whatever.
Let people enjoy at least some degree of tension, damn.

Ah yes, in the grim darkness of the far future there's only irony. A literal God telling his followers to not worship him because himself doesn't believe in God; A redditor scienceman atheist god, love you GW lol.
Well, he wanted to found the imperium on reason. Unfortunately given how the WH universe works, human emotions feeding warp entities and stuff, he probably should have let himself be worshipped in order to be as powerful as possible to fight chaos. Course, now he IS worshipped since the imperium's become a twisted mockery of his dream, and some theories think the devotion of humanity is a large part of what's keeping him sort-of-alive.

Hoping for some story progression soon. These fights are terribly one sided and it isn't Warhammer unless both sides are taking losses. Your brain is hardly even engaged in the fights anymore.
