Thanks David, it could be the magnet, there was some dust in the chamber when I opened it. I will try fitting a new magnet and will let you know how I get on. I think the pipes are ok but I will check.
Hi, Changed diaphragms and boxes in July 6 weeks ago. Pump just stopped, boxes and diaphragms full os soot. May have been working intermittendly, Now very hot, any idea what could be the problem?
Fitted new diaphragms, however finding it impossible to centre the magnet between the two solenoids. Tried the shims on each side, when I tighten everything up, the magnet moves and pulls over to one side such that the magnet jams. Tried repeatedly to do it, every time it moves from the centre. Very frustrating. Help please.
what is the condition of the magnet?.. If it is badly worn on one side it will be very difficult to centre and stay centred. Check pipework is not compromised (blocked, kinked or diffusers under a heavy layer of sludge) as this makes the pumps run hot (backpressure) and will cause early (if not almost instant diaphragm failure), as they get too hot and distort. If you still have problems you can send it to us for inspection and repair www.partsandpumps.co.uk
Hi David, this video was excellent and diagnosed my problem which was the switch. I bypassed it (just like video) and pump worked. Do you know can I bypass this permanently as the pump is brought on by a timer (15mins on 15min off) or do I need a new switch? Regards Keith
you CAN do that, but might be ill advised as without the internal switch the pump will continue to TRY to run if a diaphragm fails. Causing (potentially) damage to magnet and coils.
@@davidfarndon3895 Cheers, agreed, I looked over video and understand why. I have centralised the switch but the pump wont come on. Diaphrams are also good and spaced the magnet equally as best I could. Any other suggestions
@@keithmulvany928 it's possible the switch has failed I suppose. Rare, but not unknown. Gasses from the tank are corrosive. They are available as a part. Fairly simple fix, needs a soldering iron.
SERVICE KIT SE2 for EL60, EL80-15, EL80-17, EL100, EL120W (two kits) EL150W (two kits) EL200W (two kits). For just DIAPHRAGMS (for same pumps, use SE20). EL60 N uses a different set, SE60D for 'D'iaphragms and SE60K for the service 'K'it. All El use the same air filter .. SE3. All in stock via www.partsandpumps.co.uk.

Hi, my pump is working, but the light is on?? Faulty switch perhaps?
Nevermind lol. Once I reconnected to the pipe running to the septic tank it worked. thanks! Just saved me $700.00!!
