Hello Friends and Followers!
In this 2 hours and 33 minutes long video, I take you through the entire process of painting a graffiti wall, detailing every step along the way. Joining me is the talented Dutch graffiti artist EECH, who has invited me to paint with him twice before. This time, we set out to create our best wall yet, dedicating two days to crafting the most incredible letters adorned with stunning effects.
One of the highlights of this piece is the liquid chrome bubbles I painted around and in front of the letters, adding an amazing dimension of light reflections, shadows, and three-dimensionality. This is, without a doubt, my best graffiti tutorial to date.

i think it is not a problem to be stuck in 96, if you love it, but as you obviously are not happy with these letters you need to start changing the letters, make them
longer, thinner, try different looks and compare them and always ask yourself: Is this better now? always keep an eye on your personal feelings and strategically try out stuff and always when your heart tells you, that you found something that is better, put these elements in the next aketch as well. - This is how i found my style. trying, comparing, asking myself, listening to the feeling. 😂💪💪 it ia such a great journey to find the own style.
It took me the whole week to get through the video but just wanted to drop a thank you for shouting out little details like colors and caps. I’ve got a mural festival coming up in September that’s sponsored by Montana so I’m trying to learn all I can!

Well here I am,an old lady at 52,admiring and studying graffiti.
I’m studying Graphic Design and for some reason or another,I’m drawn to this typography.
Your depth of field,gradients,choice of colours and manipulating the font is brilliant.
Don’t know where I’ll slot into the design world when I finish,but I hope there’s a place for me.

i wll never finish… graffiti is about the tryouts, about going with the flow, and the scene says welcome to everyone who did not finish… because we all didn’t… and those who finished, are not part of the scene anymore…

I have recently started doodling grids while painting my letters. This technique not only helps manage your time more efficiently but also reduces the amount of paint used.
This was phenomenal to watch. I spent about 4 hours watching it, playing back several sections to see you work. Especially with the effects and the cutbacks. Awesome 🤙🏻🤘🏻

I enjoyed the explanation/demonstration about the broken halo. Such a "detail", but it goes to show the amount of thought and care that is put in your visuals.

Hey smoe amazing work! One thing about the can pressure that I have learned thru out my years painting is even putting your can's on ice in a cooler. I forget who I saw do it first but it really works if you want to get even lower pressure from your golds.
yeah, this is absolutely right… but having an ice cold can in the hand while painting is really not a joy… + carriying a box with ice, that is heavy and takes a lot of space in the trunk makes the whole experience „uncomfortable“ - i would always prefer to release some pressure… I mean at the end the wall looked super nice. but while making the outlines i should have thought about this option.

I do airbrushing and using tools actually can make your artwork look cleaner. I agree. Some people just need to stay home. I have actually learned alot from you Smoe about Spray Painting. Now I just need to venture further then my garage studio and work on it. lol

Easiest way to explain the light and reflection is by explaining OSL or Object Source Light painting.
Super nice painting and the "guggets" are cool af, I was like Shhhiit when you made them first but it got super cool!

I stopped using the bottom of the stencil cap years ago and started using a Ziploc bag to hold my paint. The bag holds more paint and doesn't leak. It is held from the inside between the can and the stencil cap.

Smoe I think in the liquid mercury using the really dark red instead of a grey actually looks better and works really well,it registers from a distance visually as a dark grey anyway (Matt) P.s the way you painted your broken halo really worked out brilliantly and added a dynamism to the whole piece

3 years is brand new still, don’t get discouraged. Smoe has been doing this for a loooong time
Keep it simple and make your drawings things you can actually paint. It should give you a style that works on paper and with a can.

i think that part of extension of E where you were talking about whould have been crazy if you pulled it up over the Line from the other extension. it only looked like T when you said it hahaha. GREAT VIDEO SMOE!
