- Restaurants and stores lining a path, only for walking and biking! No I'm not in Europe, I'm in the USA. One of the best rail to trail conversions I've ever seen with a bunch of other goodies.

They're also thinking about having parts of it share RoW with a light rail line too. It's one of the better aspects of a very car centric city
If Atlanta can do walkability this well...the rest of the US has no excuse!
I'm from the Atlanta area and have directly experienced this. It's great. Atlanta isn't walkable yet but it is making good steps forward.
It definitely gives people a taste of what a walkable city would be like
The path where the future streetcar extension will go looks so nice!
This looks great. I can't help wondering though... wouldn't having this ROW have been a golden opportunity to build a passenger loop light rail line around the city for better connectivity? Good luck building one anywhere else without expensive tunneling.
Yeah this is always an issue. I will say though they are planning some type of transit along parts of the belt line. Additionally Atlanta has so poorly utilized the land around their existing metro that there are still a ton of gains to be had there
Light rail was a major component of the original concept by Ryan Gravel.
No one from Atlanta Calls it Hotlanta!!! EVER!!!
Outsiders say Hotlanta not locals. That’s one of the easiest ways to distinguish the two. Lol
We need more like this
fun fact I live near a road in nj which most of the time is empty so people just walk across it all the time
ALL CAPS WHEN YOU SPELL THE MAN'S NAME
Locals do not say hotlanta! But nice try :)
;)
Noone calls it hotlanta unless you're over 60 😄
What's with all the graffiti on the walls in the opening scene?
